  1. We definitely will enjoy the family time. Making memories is what it is all about - that is why we are going.
  2. You are scaring me now, lol. We are going on the Symphony in May to celebrate my nephew's graduation from pharmacy school. My DB, DSIL and DN love the Oasis class and have been on them a few times. We have had no desire to sail on the behemoths, but are going along on this one and feel that we will just make the best of it. I don't even like the way it looks. We tried Celebrity in March, and I think we have found our home. I don't want to be on Mall of America on the Seas. Give me good food, a nicely appointed ship and view of the ocean from the outside decks. Where are some quiet spots that we can enjoy this ship besides Central Park?
  3. By the way, we share the same last name!😊
  4. Thank you so much! We are booked in an inside room, but with the current vet offer, I am going to surprise hubby and move us up to a balcony!
  5. The current Celebrity offer has a military discount. My DH was in the Air Force for 10 years. He did not retire, however, he is a disabled vet. Does he qualify for the military discount or is it only for active and retired military personnel? Thank you!
  6. Mike - talking Celebrity, lol. It is Friday. πŸ˜ƒ I didn't add on any of the perks. I am thinking of doing this without telling hubby. We had our first balcony in March on the Summit, and he was over the moon. I keep picturing his face when he sees a balcony room. That in itself would be worth it.
  7. Hi All - In April, I had purchased an interior stateroom for a cruise with my DH on the Equinox next October. It was with a non-refundable deposit. I am thinking I want to upgrade to a balcony. Do I loose the deposit? I have read all the rules, but still can't figure this out. Maybe a $100 charge for each person? Please help! Thank you!
  8. Going to see Something Rotten this month at a local college. I am looking forward to it!
  9. Double yes for In The Heights!!! I saw the off Broadway production and it was fabulous!
  10. We have always used SAS transportation. Always on time and great service! http://www.ridesas.com/
  11. We have always used SAS Transportation. Very reliable: http://www.ridesas.com/
  12. How about a wine and painting activity - we have several where I live. Everyone in the class paints the same picture - could be a palm tree at sunset, etc. The painting would have to be small enough to fit into suitcases and come with packaging. I agree with the above poster about the breast cancer awareness. Celebrity could partnership with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (American Cancer Society) or another such group.
  13. How did you like Nachi? We are going next year for the first time from Symphony. Looks like lots of shade - exactly what I need! Is this AM shade or PM shade?
  14. If you take a left getting off the ship when facing the city o America's Cup Ave, there is a big brick tourism building, Discover Newport. If you haven't already booked something through the ship, they do offer several tours and you can purchase one there, or better yet, reserve before your trip. https://www.discovernewport.org/things-to-do/tours/
  15. I will be in Cozumel this time next year and am wondering how the seaweed situation is at this time of year. We are considering Nachi Cocum or Passion Island. Would the seaweed be less on one over the other? Thanks!
  16. Thanks for the info. It makes sense, I guess, to not staff the specialty restaurants. If we go back to the ship early, we will just do the WJ.
  17. St. Martin is not the island to tour - they are still not fully operational since the hurricane in 2017. But there is an amazing snorkeling outfit which I would highly recommend, Captain Alan: https://www.captainalan.com/ As for a beach day, Labadee would be it. San Juan - the boys would love the forts. As for St. Thomas, been there, pretty much done it all. But you could go to the top of mountaintop in the Paradise point tram: https://www.paradisepointvi.com/
  18. Can anyone tell me which pay for venues would be open at lunch time? One of our stops on our next cruise on Symphony is Coco Cay. We are not waterpark people anymore, so just a dip in the beach and the pool, then we will be back on board. This might be the perfect opportunity to explore a nice venue for lunch. Thank you for your help.
  19. We had our first Celebrity cruise on the Summit in March. We absolutely loved the ship and the size. Especially loved the pool with the massaging pipes in the solarium. We booked the Equinox for next October. I think we also have found our perfect ship - the Summit was everything we need in a ship. However, we have booked a cruise on Royal's Symphony to join my nephew's celebration for his graduation in May. Personally, I would never book this behemoth. But I am sure we will have a good time, nonetheless. I am also looking forward to our cruise on the Equinox for comparison.
  20. We did have some a small bar of soap at the bathroom sink if I remember correctly. No soap dish in the shower. I bring one of those cheap plastic travel soap boxes and managed to perch it sometimes in the spot where the gels were. It fell many times, lol.
  21. 3 bottles on post revolutionized Summit and Equinox. Can't speak for the other ships.
  22. It was the Summit. And my SIL who went on the Equinox in July in a concierge balcony also had the large bottles.
  23. Yes, there was a large bottle of body wash, shampoo and conditioner in a metal shelf in the shower.
  24. Thanks Clarea. Disappointing for me, but I will surely get over it, lol.πŸ˜‚
