  1. Hi Cherry Hill cruisers: We are driving to the cruise port in our own car.  We would not have room for 2 other people plus luggage.  In addition, we are visiting our son who lives in north Jersey following the cruise.  Looking forward to meeting you and your wife on the Summit.  What is your cabin number or we can meet at Connections gathering.  Ilene and David

  2. Going on the Summit in June.  Sailing in an inside cabin.  Most people on this board seem to be in some sort of Suite.  Most passengers are in balcony, ocean view or inside cabin.  How about photos for the majority of cruise passengers?  This is our 20th cruise on Celebrity and 40th Cruise overall - 90% of the time in an inside cabin.

  3. I would definite use the OBC to shop.  There is very nice jewelry, clothing and ladies purses in the shops.  I have also purchased make up in the shops.  It’s nice to look back at the purse, jewelry, etc. as a nice momento from the trip.

  4. If you have the norovirus, you shouldn’t be allowed on the ship.  I came down with it while on a cruise and was quarantined for a few days.  On a 14 night Caribbean cruise in 2018, I came down with the flu (despite having had a flu shot) on day 9.  I was quarantined to our cabin for 3 days.  Both times I was treated very well by the ship’s medical team.  We have sailed on 40+ cruises, so getting sick twice wasn’t too bad.  When we see people coughing or sneezing, we try to avoid them - and use Purel as much as possible.  I also take Airborne every day and wipe down the cabin with Clorox wipes.

  5. We are Elite on Celebrity.  We appreciate the benefits, but would like to see increased benefits for longer cruises.  Celebrity gives the same amount of free laundry (1 per person) whether you are cruising for 7 nights or 14 nights. Internet time is 90 minutes free per person  whether your cruise is 7 nights or 14 nights.  Would like the amount of laundry and internet minutes to increase based upon the length of the cruise.

  6. We have sailed on 20+ Celebrity cruises, mainly in inside cabins.  This year we sailed on the Reflection (14 nights) and Equinox (7 nights) - inside cabins.  We will sail on the Summit in June (11 nights).  Other than dining in Luminae and Blue, we don’t feel we are treated as 2nd class citizens.   We have met quite a few people who have sailed on the 14 night Caribbean itinerary back to back in an inside cabin (total of 28 nights).  Coming from the northeast part of the US, the goal is to get to warm and sunny skies for as long as possible during the winter.  Celebrity designates us as “Elite” because we have been on many cruises. I wish management would use a different word - “Elite” has a negative connotation (snobby).

  7. The Equinox did not have Bohemian Rhapsody in the cabin for free - don’t recall if it was pay for view.  There were about 5 free movies in the cabin - ones that I had never heard of, and I am a frequent movie goer.  I don’t recall if Bohemian Rhapsody was playing in the cabin on the Reflection. It is a “big” movie which is better viewed on a big screen.  People who saw it in the big theater loved it.  I had previously seen it in the movies.

  8. The Equinox had some movies in the small theater- Celebrity Central,  and on the lawn. I don’t recall if they showed any movies in the big theater.  In fairness, the Equinox was a 7 night cruise with only 2 sea days.  Perhaps someone else on the cc boards has a current listing of movies that are offered on the Equinox.  The Reflection was 14 nights with 5 sea days.

  9. Sailed on the Reflection for 14 nights in January 2019.  Eddie Jenkins was the Cruise Director. He is my favorite.  His lectures are so entertaining and informative.  The entertainment was very good most nights.  The free movie selection in the cabin and in Celebrity Central was very good.  Don’t know if Eddie is responsible for the movie selection though.

  10. We sailed on the Reflection for 14 nights in January 2019.  There were a lot of good free movies in the cabin (at least 10) as well as free movies in Celebrity Central and outside on deck 15.  On a sea day, Bohemian Rhapsody was shown in the big theater during the afternoon- hundreds of people attended.  Two other Oscar nominated films were shown for free at various times: The Wife and Can You Ever Forgive Me?  We also sailed on the Equinox in January- February 2019.  The movie selection of free movies was dismal.  I don’t know who is responsible for selecting the movies - perhaps the cruise director.  Eddie Jenkins was our cruise Director on the Reflection.  Simon was the cruise Director on the Equinox.

  11. Chezmarylou:  The Mah Jong played on an IPad or IPhone is not the Mah Jong played by thousands of people (mostly women) across the country.  It is played with a Mah Jong set and a Mah Jong card issued annually by the National Mah Jong League.  The card has over 50 combinations of tiles to make Mah Jong.  On previous Celebrity sailings, there were about 10 sets available.  It is a challenging game that takes months to learn (to play well).

  12. Why would the Edge get rid of a card/game room?  I have played Mah Jong on longer cruises that have 4 - 5 sea days. There are others in the card room at all times playing various games. The S class ships have a cabinet containing board games.  Others people are playing card games.  Perhaps someone from Celebrity management who is reading this board will explain why the Edge class ships eliminated a a game room

  13. What kind of drawer space do the inside and balcony cabins have on the Edge? We love the S class ships, but found that the lack of drawers, compensated for by above bed storage, was a negative as compared with the M class ships.  If you are short (5 ft. 6 inches and below), it’s very inconvenient to use the above bed storage.  We also miss having night stands with drawers instead of open shelves next to the bed.

  14. This is a big disappointment.  In this day and age, when many people are concerned about skin cancer, this is a major negative for us when sailing in the Caribbean.  Would consider the Edge when sailing on a sight seeing itinerary (Europe, etc.) and the pool area isn’t as important.

  15. One of the many things we like about the S class ships is the amount of shaded lounge chairs at the outdoor pool.  We spend a lot of time there as well as at the indoor pool.  We avoid the sun as much as possible.  We are cruising on Celebrity for 3 weeks in January and will come home (northeast) with very little tan.  Does the Edge have a lot of shady outdoor areas by the pool?

  16. It’s a mixed bag. We have late dining on most cruises. Sometimes we have dined with an interesting mix of people. Other times, we were with people who we had nothing in common with. Last time we had a table for two and had nice people on either side of us.

  17. Will be sailing on the Reflection in January for 14 nights. We did the same cruise a few times on the Eclipse. We found the 14 night menus to be varied and mostly good. When I didn’t find an appealing dessert on the menu, I went to Cafe al Bacio and got a dessert to go. I did this on quite a few nights. Figured I wanted to spend the calories on something I really liked.
