  1. To answer the question asked... YES, you can choose to eat in the MDR. For personal reasons we have done this for several years now. We booked suites but had a table in the MDR. Our last 2 cruises we have given Luminae a 2nd chance and been pleasantly surprised. However, we still have a table in the MDR coming up on our next cruise "just in case". If you ask for Select in the MDR you can go anytime, ask for a large table, and meet lots of people. No need to concern yourself that you could end up at a large table alone. It also means they won't be holding seats for you if you choose to go somewhere else once or twice.

If you booked through a TA that person can call and arrange the details so it's on your reservation. If not, call the shoreside concierge for your ship or the Captain's Club. IF you don't get a positive response speak the M'd of Luminae, M'd of the MDR and the Retreat concierge once you are onboard.

Unfortunately the Resident Rate isn't offered on sailings that are further out.  We haven't hit the senior rate age yet so can't comment on that.  We will be able to check that box off soon though 😁

But you can do a mock booking to see if this works. Later on, when/if the resident rate is available rebook at that time.

  3. Den has it right... when my friend and I travel together she can attend any of the Elite/Elite+ events, gatherings, activities with me. If we go the the CC happy hour in the Sky Lounge she can get drinks from the menu. If the CC drinks are on my card and we go anywhere else she does not get free drinks. She can get breakfast at the E/E+ breakfast with me. She does NOT get any of the other things like gelato, laundry, discounts, coffee/teas, internet minutes, etc.

Well yes, a bigger bar would be nice but DW would have something to say about that!

LOL I'm the DW here... and I'm always saying we need more room in our bar. 🙂

Do you think these perks will apply to existing bookings in Sky suites? When our  cruise for November 2020 was cancelled in August 2019 due to the Constellation being redeployed to Tampa we booked a Sky Suite on the Constellation for April 2021. We had booked the original cruise onboard so our perks were transferred along with additional onboard credit for the inconvenience. We only have the classic drinks package so premium would be nice!

I seriously doubt it would... only new bookings under the new guidelines is my guess. I bet the overall cost for a suite is going up. Sure, it's "included" but you'll be paying more for it. Just like you already do if you choose a suite and add all 4 perks. It costs a lot more than a NRD with a discount rate (senior, resident, etc) and no perks. One way or another these included perks will not be free... rates will go up.

not sure what this video indicates (didn't open it) but the title says it all....IMO the press should KEEP TALKING and providing information...only way to find out the truth.  Maybe even the CDC is cautious to be open given the pressure they're under from certain sources.  Our health is more important than politics.

No, the title does not say it all. Dr. Pinsky feels the press is causing unnecessary fear because yes, it's a viral disease, yes, it's very contagious, but it's not as deadly as the press would have you believe.

I might try to make a claim due to the medical condition preventing you from traveling.  If that's denied and you have the Celebrity travel protection Celebrity should issue you the 75% FCC.

Agreed. If you have a medical reason you can't travel your insurance should pay in full. Filing was very easy for us last year when one of needed emergency surgery. Our TA filled out the form, sent it to me... I got the surgeon's signature and hospital info... signed and returned. Within a few weeks everything was reimbursed. It also paid to have our airline points back.

  8. I think you can get cappuccino at the Elite breakfast. Not sure about any other "specialty" coffees there. Maybe espresso? You can definitely get fruit. LOL

Being with you only gains her access so she can accompany you... and what is normally served there. At the breakfast that's the food and included drinks. At the happy hour thing it's the drinks on that limited menu. Nothing else. If you get your captain's club drinks on your sea pass card to use in any bar she will not have those. Your benefits are yours alone. She won't get any free laundry, gelato, internet minutes, etc.

Is the Suite Beverage Package included if a discount is applied?

Simple answer... no, not for suites under Royal. There are exceptions now and then based on promotions. But generally if you apply a discount the perks are no longer included. You can, of course, purchase any of them in your cruise planner.

Do the math and compare the cruise fare with discount/no perks and no discount/with perks. Then choose what's best for your circumstances.

... the turn of events with what’s happening on the cruise ship being denied at Ocho Rios and cayman.

This happened because a crew member had a fever, cough and body aches. They tested and it was a flu virus, not the corona virus.

Port officials are being very cautious (as they should be).

You really need to make those calls so you know exactly what you are choosing when you make your decision.

Here in Dallas Fortaleza has been well received and reviews have been great. Will buy a bottle at some point but need to finish some of my higher end Bourbon and Rum bottles first to make room in the bar!

My first thought was... you need a bigger bar. LOL

The TV's pictured on this thread are the same size as the ones we had on Silhouette, Reflection & Eclipse, they are in the same place as before and fit into the space as they did before.  I haven't been on Equinox since 2016 but it seems to me they were also the same size as the ones pictured on this thread.

    The planters sound awful...ugh...

I looked and found a picture of the tv on Equinox... it's a little bigger. It SEEMED a lot bigger.

  13. The couch in our CS pulled out to a full size bed. You can also ask for a fold away cot OR the boys could sleep on the L-shaped couch as it's big enough for two adults to both lay down (I know because we took naps that way). It seemed that one of us ended up on the couch every night... I found it quite comfortable for sleeping.
