  1. Not calling you out but using you as an example (thank you :)) That's the opinion (not right or wrong) of many who like either beach/resort days or things built to American standards. Those who don't share this opinion take Ensenada for what it is. Many don't want water areas or something Americanized but want a local experience.

Ave Lopez has been Americanized a bit with smooth sidewalks and curb cutouts. Going off and you'll be in a Mexican city.

So I love a local experience which is not americanized. What does that look like to you? We are two friends, women, on this trip. One speaks a fair amount of spanish. Safety is a concern. With that in mind, what would a grand day in Ensenada be?

  2. I'm looking into going to Las Rosas Resort on our August sailing. Not sure if they offer day passes or not.

Please share any information about Las Rosas if you end up going. We stayed there about 10 years ago and it was awesome. The food and service were excellent! We will be in Ensenada in October and would love to go there for the day.

Looking forward to hearing your trip report about Las Rosas Resort, details you enjoyed, if you would recommend it, etc. Also, if you felt it was safe for two single women taking a cab there. Thanks!

  3. Yay, thank you so much. I appreciate this. I can definitely do that, sounds like a great plan. I will see you all at the meet n great. SO exciting, only 3 more days. wooohooo!!!

3 more days!!!!! Just printed my luggage tags and it is sinking in!!! See you at the meet n greet! :)

  4. I definitely agree with this. If the zoo was smart they would do that. I'm definitely going to the zoo when we get into port on March 11th (exactly a week from today) I'm just nervous riding a taxi alone that far.

Hi there, I was doing more research for the trip and saw your post here. We are the couple from your roll call available to share taxi to Mismaloya. We will be getting off at Barcelos Resorts and walking around town. We are not going to the zoo, and are heading back via bus into old town after we eat, explore etc. I wanted to let you know so you could make plans to perhaps have taxi driver wait for you to get back to the ship or wherever you go next...See you soon!!:)

  5. We normally drop off our luggage before we board to porters waiting to take luggage near the parking terminal. This is usually before we check in with Carnival. Now that we have FTTF should we still drop off luggage with porters, or take it with us when we check in with Carnival (to help insure it gets to our room early)? Any thoughts? I am talking about the Long Beach terminal. Thanks.

  6. I love kids, however, when I go to the Serenity or any "adults only area" it is for that purpose. To be away from them. If you bring yours, even to sleep, it encourages others to do so. i wish you a lovely vacation, but please do not bring them to Serenity.

  7. You, of course, are not the only one! The preparation is part of the thrill in advance. 😎. We have 48 more days to go and I am working on the boarding documents, etc. today. Although I know a lot of the answers, I love being on cruise critic and reading what others have to say about cruising. It makes me happy!
