Well the photos have geotags in them that that have the position where the photo was taken at. So you have the position of the ship from photos taken from the ship. You have the position of the boats that took pictures. A bunch of pictures and positions. It should have been more than enough evidence...
I guess it comes down to a state investigation vs. federal...
The feds were quite clear from the beginning that no federal laws were involved.
And the only Hawaiian law that might have been broken carries a maximum $1,000 fine. Yet people here seem to think they should have investigated it like millions of dollars were at stake.

We asked about extend your stay on the Ascent last week of March, in Fort Lauderdale . Even being a Retreat guest, the answer was No.
We were told they stopped offering this
FYI. If you are out of FLL international and a late departure, the airport is not pleasant to hang around. No restaurants and few seats They will not accept luggage any earlier than 3 hrs before flight time and no later than 2 hrs
There are a few hotels apparently that offer a day package. Perhaps someone else can answer
I believe it’s only available in select foreign ports. US law requires them to zero out the passenger count before allowing any new passengers aboard.

Either you look at the final price or not..it has always been there in my recollection.
When the law goes into effect it will be included in the advertised price on the initial search results pages. You won’t have to be smart enough to find it.

I believe Zeniths currently use the same phone number as Retreat folks use. At one time Zeniths DID have a special number, but I believe that's now gone (and has been gone for quite a while). When I dial the special number I received when I became Zenith, it is just "busied out".
Probably quit telling people about the secret handshake too. 😉

We previously cruised in Retreat quite a bit. Of course, when I called for anything prior to my cruises. I used the retreat phone number. Are Zeniths allowed to use that phone number as well? Due to prices, we will no longer be cruising in Retreat for the foreseeable future.
Unless things have changed, Zeniths have a special number, you should have gotten a packet with it included. I doubt anyone knows yet if the number is available for Zenith by proxy, if that’s your status.

I always saw them at the final price, I don’t need the govt to fix a problem that didn’t exist.
Yes, but for all the people less astute than you …

I use a CGM with my iphone. I don't know a lot about technology, but if I put my phone on airplane mode, can I use the phone to track my glucose on the cruise without any roaming charges?
Myrna
Yes, putting it in airplane mode would prevent roaming charges. I would test it now to make sure the monitor continues to connect.

I would check with Princess about the CPAP on the train to see if they have some accommodation. It shouldn’t count as a carry on, but you can’t magically make more space under the seat.

I'm trying to waitlist myself and DH for a couple for a Sept cruise, however it will only allow me to waitlist one person. Will that work to get us both tickets? No idea why I can't waitlist both of us.
The number of people on the wait list must be limited, and when one person cancels, one opens up. If that weren’t the case, every excursion would have a waitlist option.

On our recent cruise on the Constellation in Mar we never stopped at the Martini bar. It was always packed especially from 5 to 7 during the Elite HH because those drinks are available there. It was the same at the other bars. When you have over 1000 elite and above on almost every cruise it isn’t going to change and will get worse.
Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅
5 to 7 are popular times to be drinking regardless of status. -

And with this change, there is zero hope of that ever happening in the future. Not sure it ever stood a chance, but definitely no chance now
I doubt there was ever a chance. The great thing from Celebrity’s perspective on giving Zeniths retreat lounge access is that it costs them almost nothing and yet greatly pleases the Zeniths. They have free drinks anyway, so all it costs is a few hors d’ouevres.
Luminae and sundeck access would cost them the same amount it costs them for suite guests.

I do not resent paying a tip and will for good service. However I won't tip if the service is slap dash and not up to par. It shouldn't be expected.
By the way we do not have "pound notes" any more.
Pound notes, generically, not one pound notes. I hope no one would tip a tour guide one pound. -

We are US residents and will be on b2b cruises later this month that visit 9 countries in Europe that use six different currencies. I don't want to get small amounts of cash in each country. I plan to use credit cards everywhere I can. Would it be acceptable to tip people like tour guides, bus drivers, etc. with US dollars in situations when a tour was pre-booked and pre-paid with USD? We have done this in Mexico and Canada with no issues. Thoughts?
Sounds like a Norway, Sweden, Iceland, etc. cruise. Sometimes people in those areas are somewhat resentful about being offered tips. I wouldn’t plan on tipping at all there.
People in the UK seem more resentful about having to pay tips than they are about receiving them, so some pound notes might be good to have if you want to tip (which you don’t really have to do).- 1

So the Retreat lounge host will have to check each guest's name against a list upon entry instead of just quickly showing your room card?
Same for Luminae and the Retreat sun deck?
I don’t think Zeniths of any stripe get Luminae or sun deck access unless sailing in a suite.

I see where a poster said you have to trigger this latest change.
I am Diamond on RC and Elite on Celebrity now ...will I need to "up grade " to the latest Shared Status?
I checked my Venetian Society account yesterday and it showed my 250 day status without me doing anything.

The government is not focused on money in the same way a private business is. There are many factors that go into the decision of how much time and resources they put into an investigation.
Still they put more effort into Grand Theft Auto than they do driving in a restricted zone.

The investigation by the authorities seemed to be just interviews or attempts to interview people. No data collection at all. A billion dollar cruise ship that is as computerized as Edge would have data, as would any number of other possible sources, which would provide facts. But, I'm not suggesting conspiracy.
The government’s a business, more or less. How much effort would you expect them to put into a violation that accrues a maximum $1,000 fine?

Lately the app hates everyone. Can't believe such a large company hasn't rectified all the issues that have been going on with an app that people rely so much on.
If you’ve spent much time on the boards for other cruise lines, you’d believe it.

Adding Silversea into the mix is really the main change. (Apart from the Pinnacle/Zenith change.) Loyal Silversea passengers are not getting anything out of being included in the reciprocal recognition. Most would not go near an RCI ship.Unless sailing with family. The ones I’ve run across were quick to point out that they usually sail Silversea - while complaining about some facet of the cruise.

Does that mean if I decide to take a Royal Caribbean cruise, I'll get to wear lapel pins? Interesting....
Yes, but you’ll have to make them yourself. Or buy them on eBay.

On our last cruise, there was a couple that always wore homemade buttons that read, "CELEBRITY ELITE MEMBER". I thought it was hilarious ... like they expected people to be in awe of their status. There's a lot of that, 'do you know what level I am?' thinking. 🤣
Probably status matched from Royal Caribbean and were distraught when they found out Celebrity didn’t have Elite lapel pins for them to wear.

I was in a Penthouse Suite on the Ruby last summer. Rec'd flowers, a sampling of canapes and two flutes of champagne on embarkation day. Booked the Crown Grill for the complimentary embarkation dinner and enjoyed breakfast at Sabatini's. Opted not to use the thermal suite so can't talk to that. Our steward was fantastic, very attentive and thoughtful.
Who did you talk to to book the embarkation night dinner?

??? We did 4 Celebrity cruises in 2019 (2 different B2B cruises. M & S class ships) and we had the evening CC HH in the Sky Lounge.
I don’t know, they announced the change to unlimited early in the year and had nothing in the Sky Lounge on the cruise I was on in May. People, including me sometimes, tend to assume that things are uniform throughout the fleet.
