Confirmed, 7am open

Oy Vey - I do not want to go through this again lol
Didnt they successfully use the tug boat service last Friday?!?
-
Gah - I wasnt planning on waking up until 8, thats too early after a night of drinking! haha
They do take away right? I feel like I read that you can order at the register and take them to go. That could work out better
-
I asked the 2 locals I know and they didn't know either.... Wa wa waaa
-
Why doesnt anyone know?!? :( LOL - subscribing... this is all I can think about right now. Almost considering going to Kasalta because at least I know their hours and can plan for it lol
-
We plan on getting the cheers package as well - I saw that you can purchase it on day one or day 2 - what is the difference? I was told that you would pay for the full 7 days regardless, so it would make sense to do it on the 1st day rather than the 2nd. Is that the way it works?

I read the following on a website but cant find any other information about it.
“Pitt Stop” is a Friday afternoon tradition. Local barbecue masters set up on Bay Road in Basseterre and sell grilled fare from makeshift drums. Hop from stall to stall, gorging on barbecue chicken, ribs, and fish. This sounds amazing if its still a thing. Has anyone experience this or know more about? What times are they usually out there grilling?!? And where on Bay Road? :D

I have a travel agent handling my group booking. I've done a lot on my own since I like to be in control of my group but she has no problems dealing with my group members and bugging them. I haven't done a group booking through the cruise line directly, but maybe try to find a local TA and explain what you need. Some TAs may not take your group if they feel like its too much work lol Feel free to PM if you want my TAs info. Ive used quite a few and finally found a keeper!

Here are pictures from two of my cabins. The "ahoy" one I used painters tape since I was guilted out if using scotch tape because of residue - the door didn't even make it through the first night :/ oh well! The steward sure knew who we were lol. I've seen some creative ones. I took a picture of the saloon door someone else did on my last cruise, how fun! The two I decorated were cruises out of TX. Its easy when you drive to port. I dont know that I'll do it on my next cruise out of San Juan, that's valuable luggage space! Lol

I had read that Sapphire Beach had no amenities (no bathroom, food, bar, etc) - has that changed?
-
Mud baths are at the volcano.
Thats what I thought! So we cant bypass the volcano all together because thats definitely a highlight! Might just speed through the other volcano parts :)
-
Thanks for the suggestion! We had been thinking about doing the volcano tour as well but It may be too strenuous and no beach time! That tour seems like a good balance so I may have to consider it!
Looks like we're sort of leaning towards cockleshell anyways :)
-
Where are the mud baths at? Is that at the volcano? Or is the only thing at the volcano those bubbling/steaming pits? I might agree with you, we could probably skip that part.

Gourmet Gallery is close to the ships and has snacks and beer. Much better selection than KMart though prices might be higher. KMart brand chips are good value. Gourmet Gallery makes good sandwiches at fair price.
Even better! Thank you!

Since you are BYOBing it, you may want to try Lindqvist. It is beautiful and less crowded than the two you have mentioned. Sapphire is awesome. However, IMO, Magen's is overrated.
Thats beautiful! I'll look into it - thanks!
-
I have a small rolly cooler I'm bringing. I read about going just up the street to Kmart to get supplies. Probably a case of beer and some snacks, nothing crazy! Then we'll take a taxi to the beach. That's the plan anyways :)

I think we are on the same Roll Call and I mentioned we are doing the same tour.
I have a girlfriend going on the Valor March 1st and she is doing the same tour. I am using her as my Guinnea Pig and really trust her to tell me how the tour is. I can let you know as soon as she gets back the good, the bad and the ugly! :)
Ah yes! that would be fantastic! Thanks!

Great! Thank you!

Oh, and we're the only ship in port so crowd's arent a huge factor...

For weeks I have been looking at this and I can't decide what is best. My friends say it doesn't matter and any option will be good. Well great, thanks for the help lol Its driving me crazy that one doesn't seem to stand out in order to make a decision. Maybe y'all can help? Really I would like good sand, good water (snorkeling isn't necessary) and good food and drinks. We don't require a lot of facilities; usually lay our towels on the ground. Here's what I'm looking at:
Frigate Bay - Mr X's Shiggidy shack
South Friars - Ship wreck
Cockleshell - Reggae bar/Lions rock
If anyone can provide some points for or against any of the above, I'd appreciate it!

I’m currently deciding between Magen’s Bay and Sapphire Beach. Ive read that neither have many options for food/drinks. Does anyone know if you are allowed to bring in a cooler of drinks/snacks with you? We brought a cooler of beer to Great Stirrup Cay in Grand Cayman and it worked out great. I haven’t read anything on the policy of these beaches about this. Let me know what you’ve seen/heard! Thanks!

Great thanks! What about all the photo op stops? Any of those we can skip? Or are those in conjunctions with another activity?
