  1. Another reason why they do this is, what if all the triple and quads are booked by doubles, and a couple of families of 3 or 4 wanted to book, they would lose out. I have been told by my PVP in the past they might let you book a triple for 2, but you might get bumped to a different cabin, and not necessarily a better one either.

  2. Carnival asks that one carry on CPAP devices.

You may want to contact specialneeds@carnival.com and let them know. I believe distilled water is available onboard so one does not need to take any. Same with extension cords, if needed.

You do need to contact special needs department so they can note your reservation accordingly. I did so and they informed me they would have a bottle of distilled water and extension cord for me in my cabin. I will pay the $3 for the water. We have FTTF so I'll drop it in the cabin as soon as we board.

  3. What if the other person pays the deposit, but then doesn't pay the balance when it is due? (Just trying to think of all the scenarios).

Then Carnival would cancel his booking (I'm assuming), and he probably would not get his deposit refunded, and then would they charge my son for the difference? I'm guess that is how that would work. And at that point, my son would either have to cancel himself, or pay double and cruise solo.

If I'm not mistaken the entire booking would be cancelled and any refunds would be issued according to the cancellation section of terms and conditions and penalties imposed accordingly.

  4. The time you pick is your "check in" time not boarding time. Time you get to board is dependent upon several factors. First Customs has to give the okay to start, then ships master has to give their ok, then they will start boarding wedding parties, diamond, platinum and suites then guests with FTTF and wheelchairs, then they'll start with general boarding by zone. So yes you can pick a 10 am ck in, but you may not get to board till 11-12 depending.

  5. Thanks everyone.

We are leaving from Miami. I was just able to pull up our boarding passes but wasn't given a choice to select a time. The "embarkation time" is 1:00-3:00. It mentions waiting for your "boarding number" to be called- is that assigned at the port, first come first served? What time should we plan to arrive at the port?

    Thanks again!

As previously posted, if your online checkin doesn't give you the option, then the cruise port isn't doing it yet. The "boarding number" is what group you are placed in at checkin( like Southwest Airlines)
