Thank you very much onyx007. I appreciate your advice. I love travelling but at times I find it stressful trying to do everything perfectly. We plan on spending a full day there to enjoy the hiking paths and beautiful views.

We are disembarking our Celebrity cruise in Barcelona on Saturday Oct 05 and were planning a day trip to Montserrat on Sunday. I don't want to do a bus tour, I think the train ride looks so beautiful. The video's that I have watched online all say to go to the Placa Espana Station and purchase the tickets using the vending machines on the day of, which include your return train, the rack railway, funicular etc. Is it not necessary to buy our tickets in advance? We would like to be on the train that leaves around 8 in the morning. What are the chances that the tickets will be all sold out when I get to the train station the morning of? Can I purchase them online in advance and what site should I be using. It all seems very confusing and I could really use some help. Can anyone advise me on how to plan this visit and tell me if I am stressing about nothing and this is how every one get there by train when they want to visit Monserrat.
