1.
That is certainly a possibility but smokers literally drove me out of the casino. I would find a machine to play on and a smoker would sit down next to me and light up. I would have to leave immediately.

This new Policy protects the dealers who cannot leave the area. It shows consideration for the workers
The casinos have a smoking and non smoking section. If you are in the smoking section why wouldn't you expect that someone might sit next to you and light up? There are losing machines on either side.
  2. It was reported that the Noordam was smoke free in the casino. That was a couple months back. Maybe Hal sees this as a compromise for not getting rid of balcony smoking. Frankly I'd rather they kept the casino smoking and the balconies smoke free. The casino on the eurodam was still smoking in October. This is a recent development.

Yes I was on it in Dec and it was smoking but that was before dry dock

  3. We got off 3 weeks ago and they only swiped sea pass cards for towels if you were getting off the ship.

Are you saying that they swiped the sea pass card if you got a towel at the pool?

    thanks.

Yes we have not even left port for our cruise and this is by the pool. I know what is going on my comment card

  4. I'm with you. Having dined at both, I liked Portofino's much better. IMHO, Giovanni's Table was like "Olive Garden of the Seas".

I agree with you and it also depends on the ship. We liked Portofinos better but we were on the Oasis and enjoyed Giovanni's. However we were on the Freedom after dry dock when they converted and did not like it at all. We are on the Freedom again in Sept and doing only the steak house twice.

  5. Well maybe it was your wife giving you a little hint that you should be cruising more.....;) she is greatly missed for sure..

I hope you are smiling with me in you wife's memory.

But seriously, did they mentioned it could be a name mix up.

One time they told me I was showing twice too, at the same address.

Another time they got my dad and brother mixed up because one was senior and one was Jr. My dad was deceased at the time and they both had different addresses.

Even my children have been mixed up because of the same first initial.

However we have not received an incorrect mailing. I am sure they will get to the bottom of it on Monday...

    Take Care, L:)ri

Thank you. Actually I was upset at first that she was sailing without me. LOL Yes I have been cruising that is the place I have the best memories of our 42 cruises together. I have one booked now and will be in ST Thomas on her birthday, one of her favorite ports. Lots of good memories and maybe a few tears.

  6. I would contact C&A/RCL again to see if it's a mistake or if the account is actively being used. Sorry for your loss

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes I did contact them and they are looking into it and supposed to get back to me by Monday. They also told me that they had 2 accounts set up for my wife. No idea why.

  7. In the mail today I received an envelope addressed to my wife congratulating her for making Diamond Plus level. Great right? No, the problem is she passed away 2 years ago. I called RCCL and they could not figure it out. Has anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions? With all the identity theft going on, it is kind of scary.

  8. On the Allure in July we paid $7.25 + 15% gratuity for absolut pear & club soda. After reading ALL the posts I am assuming those prices have not changed except for the 18% gratuity. Please correct me if I am wrong.

We were on the Freedom the end of February. We had a mudslide and absolute citron and sprite. Each one was $10 + 1.80 gratuity = $11.80. Also did not go to one bar that the bartender did not measure the shot.

  9. Good to know. Perhaps even though they have the official definition of relationship posted it is just easier to "assume" people at the same address and same last name are in a relationship and automatically grant them the status.

They have not with my daughter, would love to know how she can get to my status. Could it be that you could do that with a new member but not an existing one?

  10. Are you saying one has to be married to ones daughter/son to get them (if over 18 years old) the same status. I don't think I would do that, under any circumstance!

Actually, as previously stated, two adults can have the same status without being married, as long as they have the same mailing address and they are linked in the C&A system. Your rep was only giving you the situation for a son/daughter, whether living with you, or not, when they reach the age of 18.

Oh God forbid I should marry my children! Guess I don't understand the reasoning if 2 people at the same address (unmarried) can get the benefits but 2 adults because one is a child of the other can not.

  11. It's not just spouses. Two adults with linked C&A accounts who live at the same address have the C&A status of the one with the most points. DW and I shared our status long before we became DW and I;)

You can not link them unless you are married or they are under the age of 18 according to the C & A rep I talked to. My DD lives at the same address and it is in file at the C & A but they would not do it because she was over 18.

  12. Wish they would do that with family members that are traveling with you. Being a widower my adult daughter has become my traveling companion but because she is not my wife or under 18 RC will not recognize her so I end up skipping the diamond events. She is Platinum now but still needs quite a few cruises to reach diamond and by that time I will be diamond plus. Oh well I know they can't make every exception since they are crowded already.
