Please remember that things like e-coli are found in beef as well so it too has to be carefully prepared and also cooked to the proper temperature and that it is also found from time to time in vegetables. We too try to eat mostly organic but due so for mainly other reasons such as not having hormones meats/poultry that we eat or pesticides on vegetables/fruit.

I agree about the additives etc
(I know none of us will live forever, but I'm trying!)

I NEVER eat fowl! I tend to favor veggies, but have some meat, mostly beef for protein and variety. Much prefer organic foods when possible!
-
WE much prefer eating inside on a cruise but outside while camping unless it's raining! Nowadays we usually are cruising and not camping.
Different strokes for different folks! Choice is GOOD!

Thanks for all for the kind words.
If I was bed-ridden Cathy probably would set and hold my hand all day!

Terrible weather right now - "snow storm warning." I just left my wife who is bed-ridden and can not travel. I feed her every lunch in the nursing home. I had to bring flowers for Valentine's Day and was lucky to get home safely! Probably won't be able to visit Sunday.
(Nursing home is almost more expensive than a Regent cruise but NOT nearly as much fun!)

Take your meds and take good care of yourself.
A relaxing cruise could be a tonic!
Here's for GOOD HEALTH!!!!
Bon Voyage!

READ the small print, as I recall it does not include air but includes tours.
We've NEVER had any problems with kids. Crew fawns over them, probably because they miss their own kids.

I was on Dubai to Cape Town last Nov.-Dec. Highlights were snorkeling in Seychelles and watching lemurs on Madagascar. Sadly, much of the Seychelles coral has been decimated but it still was OK.

NOT much of a drinker, BUT every Regent cruise I toy with idea of a chocolate martini! But I'm always afraid I'll break out in acne!
Maybe one of these days!

Yes - we are on the Cape Town to Cape Town sailing that goes to Namibia (the sailing after that - Cape Town to Rio also goes to Namibia). Sadly, both cruises are wait listed but you could go on the waitlist. We booked when the cruise first was announced. IMO, both Cape Town and Namibia are magical. Suggest that you look at the itineraries for 2016 as they, too, will sell out quickly. Your question reminded me that, instead of checking out Cruise Critic, I should be figuring out our deviated flights to and from Cape Town. We can book them at the end of this month (very long flights so it is important to have good seats:-)
Namibia isn't much - just riding the dunes - hang on tight!

Many other teams also played at Havana of course! Fans followed their teams!

The Rochester Red Wings played
minor league baseball

NO ILL EFFECTS other than too many hot dogs for some!

The main reason I don't eat of the ship is the same as the excursion debate, on a smaller scale -- I already paid for the food on the ship, and I don't want to pay twice! :p
That too, Don!

I cannot possibly imagine spending two weeks in the Mediterranean and not eating in Italy or France. Why on earth travel halfway across the world to eat only on the ship where one is served upscale US-based institutional food? I am not saying I do not enjoy the food on Regent because I rather like it; however, I would never pass up a wood-fired Sicilian pizza in order to make it back to the ship in time for lunch in Compass Rose.
I've eaten in all those places and more while living in Europe for a few years.
-
I never eat away from the ship - I trust the ship to be more sanitary than any eatery on shore - anywhere!
-
"ConsumerReports" checked chickens last year and found about 75 percent were contaminated with salmonella (not the lounge singer) but the toxin!
I never eat chicken ever!
-
I cruise on Regent and get "free"air but upgrade to Biz Class. BUT it seems I can't get any United miles - even paying extra to deviate to fly United!
\
Anyone have a problem like that?
-
We've never had a smoke problem on Regent - perhaps a sniff when passing Casino or smoking lounge.
The GOOD NEWS is smokers could be SMART enough to quit - others will smoke themselves to DEATH! SAD!!!!

Sorry: I repeated myself - once was enough.

Many want to be FIRST and willing to pay TOP Dollar!
They can tell everyone: "We were on first Explorer cruise!"
I envy them.
-
I'm happy for all you guys, Explorer sounds like a great adventure.
But I can't wrap my head around the prices. $900 pp a night for the cheapest cabin, ~$1K for the Superior Verandah. Won't do it.
Let's see, our October Nile cruise on Uniworld is priced at about $500 a night. Don't know the price of our Tauck river cruise in 2016, but I'm sure it won't be much more.
Even non-Explorer prices are still very close to $1,000 pp - save your pennies!

Best IDEA is do not get sick or injured! Eat healthily and don't fall, use the railings etc!
