The restroom at Passions (Amsterdam Manor) is a port-a-john. It is nicer than most, and will do in a pinch. You should be fine. You don't have to dress up for Passions. I wear capri pants and hubby wears shorts. Everything in Aruba is very casual. Up the beach, just a little ways, a new restroom facility is being built. I believe that it will have a shower. However, things in Aruba move very slowly, and there is no telling when it will open. It very well could sit finished for a year before they actually open it to the public. As the locals in Aruba say, everything is political.
Thank you! No shower necessary. Just some running water and a place to change really. Glad to know that it's casual, as that is a relief!

We would like to go to Passions for dinner and also hit the beach for a couple hours. Are we going to be a sweaty mess? Should we plan time to go back to the cruise ship to freshen up, or are facilities near Passions beach adequate for a quick refresh? Just figured if we were going to that beach anyway, we would hit it all at once. Can't go to the beach earlier because we have an excursion until noon. Thank you!

Uninstalled and reinstated two times throughout the day. Still not working....was hoping to catch up on research this holiday weekend!

Samsung Galaxy. The app hasn't been working all day....ugh. I hope they know about it and are getting it fixed. Is there a place we check on here that touches on these issues? I thought maybe the administration would have posted

We did Coral Breeze. They did a great job.

It is common in Europe for the hotel to require your passport. We never had to provide anything prior, though. But, they are required to register their guests and passport info with the local authorities. They do need this info at some point. If they are requiring it prior (like airlines or cruises) then weigh how bad you want to stay in that particular place.

It was Fat Tire. I believe they are all over Europe. We also did a bike tour in Budapest. Does your cruise happen to be taking you to Hungary?

I had not thought of a bike ride option. If you had just walked do you think you would have been able to see everything? Thanks!
Absolutely not. We biked all across Berlin - east and west, Brandenburg gate, Check point Charlie, the wall, Hitler bunker, Reichstag, Jewish memorial, and many other places. It was safe and the guys knew exactly where they were going. We probably stopped at least every 5-10 minutes. Saw a ton!!! I can't imagine a more efficient way to see the city. Lastly, we biked through a park to a beer garden and had dinner and beer. As soon as you stop on the bike, they start talking. So unlike a bus, you aren't waiting for people to get on and off. I think there were about 10 people in our group.

When we were in Berlin, we did a bike tour. Ours came with dinner, but without dinner you could probably find one that fits into your available time. It was a great way to see the entire city, easy ride, great for one day. It's all we did during our short time in Berlin and I think we saw everything.

El Morro in Old San Juan. You can walk there from the cruise port, or there is a free trolley that stops up at the fort. I believe they have tours once you are inside. The views are breathtaking. If you have time, the trolley also goes to the other fort- San Cristobal. San Juan is absolutely awesome.

Thanks, everyone! Apparently, they started doing this the first of November. Although I am Platinum, the other travelers are not.

Wow. Is that new? Never had that happen on any previous cruises....regardless of port.

Hi!
My family received a call moments ago with updated check in times by deck for the cruise this upcoming weekend. In 20 years of cruising, we've never had this happen. I know AOS had some noro outbreaks this fall, so is this why they are checking in certain times by deck? Deep cleaning necessary? It was an automated call.
Thanks in advance.

Used MJS transport last month. They were great -- called us to make sure we were ready and I know they track flights too as they were talking on the phone verifying with people while we were riding. $13 pp from FLL to Port of Miami.

We did too. On every port for Hawaii we used Thrifty. I think a couple places we had to use a shuttle to the airport, but it was free. Check Hawaii boards. And reserve your car early and join the loyalty Blue Chip program. It avoids lines and really expedited the process.

I'm sorry I am of no help on this...we did the Silver Moon snorkel tour, which was phenomenal. Then we went to a beach and caught a cab back to the boat. From what I remember our cab ride was only about 10 minutes...regardless of what you do, you will love barbados. MAYBE do a forum search in Ports of Call and search Payne in the title only.

Yes! I would definitely recommend taking the ferry to St. John and do some snorkeling. It's very pretty and gets you away from all the shops. An easy and inexpensive thing to do.

Any places near port that are recommended for lunch? We might be spending the day at the Boatyard, but I don't want to miss out if there are some good places to have lunch outside of the boatyard.
Not that I can remember. Is there a reason you won't venture into town? The cab drivers are very nice and professional. The beaches are nice....lots and lots of restaurants. Our cab driver was awesome and stopped and got us some authentic food to try on our way back from a catamaran snorkel trip to see the turtles.

Hi Hurricane Expert! I read that Gonzalo should be past the Bahamas by Friday but rain is forecasted for the weekend. Will that just be residual rain from Gonzalo leaving the area? Should we expect rain all day type of rain or just a couple pop up showers?

You can name your own price for 2 rooms to be sure you are all at the same hotel....Just select the number of rooms you want. Maybe you should search forum titles for priceline. I'm sure you will find others who have had success reserving, also. Correct that you don't know the name of the hotel until you pay. It's non-refundable. Start low for a higher star and you either have to change star level or area to re bid right away or just wait until the next day, or use another person in your groups name and email etc... We've always gotten great hotels at very steep discounts (40-50% off) using it in NYC, Miami, FLL, San Juan, etc. And we just call the hotel after to request 2 double beds for our reservation. It's not a guarantee, but all have accommodated us when we've had 4 people. Here's a good thread.
what's with coral breeze tours???

Used them a few years ago and they were great. And responsive. Strange.
