  1. I submitted my request for a PCR test refund to Celebrity the day after I left my cruise in Southampton (September 20), to date I have only received an auto response to my e-mail & no other communication or refund. Has anyone had a problem in getting the test result refunded or am I being impatient..?
  2. I think we were.. I agree re the Martini bar area & cannot get over that people reserved sunbeds in the solarium, Hilarious!! Now, it's time to look for another cruise..
  3. Who buys these painting I wonder on every cruise as most of them are dreradful!
  4. I recently sailed on Celebrity Silhouette which had only 850 approx pax on board, the entire shipped lacked atmosphere as most venues were empty, on one occasion the theatre had no more that 30/40 punters in attendance. One plus point was no waiting for the lift! 🙂
  5. I've recently sailed on Celebrity Silhouette & was pleased to find the Mens sauna operating. The facility is situated in the mens locker room which serves the spa & gym area, the entrance to the locker room is hidden & is not easily found - unless like me you know it's there! As you look at the spa reception desk the Male locker room is to the right & slightly behinmd the desk, you have to turn left & more or less double back on yourself to see the entrance. Initially you will come across approx 20 combination lockers (no key needed), there is no bench to sit on in this area, only three fabric covered 'pouffes' - not the best for hygiene in my opinion so be sure to sit on a towel. Further along the corrdor there are two wash basins, two urinals & two WC's, next on the left is the sauna, while on the right are three large showers - one accessible. There is no bench to sit & cool between sauna sessions & no water fountain to rehrdrate yourself so be sure to take your own water bottle in with you. Towels were plentiful during my voyage & the attendant made a visit ti wipe surfaces about every 20 minutes.

  7. I'm currently on celebrity silhouette and pleased to report that the FREE sauna in the locker room is up and running, I've used it every day and sadly not seen hardly any one else. I'll try and get some pics taken/posted later.
  8. I find this spreadsheet quite useful - how up to date it is now tho' I do not know. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ROCmeNSYj_VwCYs3IUjWbrcEomFeqOrvIDUnXG6GLTg/edit#gid=836403675
  9. I have a printed copy of my Vaccinations - it's my pre cruise COVID test rfesult that concerns me. Thanks for the reply tho
  10. I am flying into Southampton from Guernsey on 10 September to join Silhouette on the 11th, my PCR test is being done on the 9th (within the 3 days of sailing that Celebrity require). My government health authority texts the result, is this acceptable to Celebrity or will they need something more official? I have messaged the cruise line twice to check on their requirements but have yet to receive a reply & cannot find info on their website.
  11. I'm booked on Celebrity SIlhouette for a UK staycation cruise next month, I'll be reporting my findings. If the sauna isn't open I may well jump off the side as that's a big part of my relaxation time especially on sea days.
  12. Has anyone sailed on the Celebrity UK staycation cruises, and if so is the sauna in the lockeroom open? I'm a few days off booking a UK cruise & the reply could sway my decision.
  13. Has anyone been on any of the UK 'staycation' cruises, & if so was the sauna/steam facility open?
  14. I have just read elsewhere in the forums that the dreaded 'amplification' of RCCL Adventure & Explorer of the Seas has been postponed & that the single sex facilities remain. (Maybe we can thank COVID & the lack of revenue for RCCL for this?)
  15. Are there any guys on this thread that are sailing on the upcoming UK residents only cruises that are starting next month? If so I'd be keen so know if the sauna/steam facilities are open.
  16. I'm in Guernsey where life has returned to normal (apart from quaranting on return from travel) , we have zero cases of covid & have vaccinted in execc of 50% of the population. I'm missing my cruise holidays & seeing the many visits of cruise ships to my island.
  17. I love the idea of a sauna with a window - I assume it has one way glass fitted? One the mask requirement is lifted and I know for certain that wet areas are open again I'll be booking my next cruise, let's hope it's not too far away as I have a big birthday next year & want to celebrate it afloat if I can.
  18. I'd be more than happy to either cruise either around the UK or just bob about on the ocean for a week on a cruise to nowhere. If the latter I'd need the sauna & steam rooms to be operational as I need a shot of heat in these old bones & always spend an hour or so in the facility on 'normal' cruises. All this depends on not having to isolate on my return home to Guernsey.
  19. The male only sauna/steam rooms on cruise ships make up a big part of my late afternoon/early evening cruise routine & I only book ships with this (hopefully free) facility. I'm just wondering if anyone has any info as to whether these facilities will remain open at all once cruising returns or be consigned to history? If it's the latter my cruising days may well be over as I love a few hours of 'me time' in the company of other likeminded guys. Keep safe & virus free guys. 🙂
  20. I am looking at a P&O cruise departimng from Valletta in Malta. I will be travelling with a friend who has limited mobility but refuses to use a wheelchair until she is at cruise check in, has anyone any experience of a supplier who hires wheelhairs to cruise ships from this destination? I have only been able to find providers who deliver to hotels so far.
  21. Free to use single sex sauna/steam rooms (as per Azura & Ventura) - no offence ladies but you do whitter on sometimes & I like to roast in peace. 🙂 The newerr P&O ships with paid for steam/sauna will not ever be getting my custom so this is an important 'must have' for me.
  22. P&O Ventura 4 night cruise to Zebrugge/Bruges Feb 7 2020 I pleased to say that the facilities on Ventura remain the same as on my previous sailings. It comprises of a good sized male only steam & sauna set up that can be found in the gym locker room. I was on board for four nights during which Storm Ciara raged! The users of the facility were not the usual bunch that you would find on a cruise, many seemed unsure how to use a sauna/steam & I only saw one other person use the sauna wearing a towel/nude (one guy used the steam in full gym kit) most men kept their shorts firmly on & even changed using towels which I find hilarious. The usual banter between guys in the sauna was sadly lacking as most sat in silence or only wanted to discuss how much alcohol they has consumed or hoiw late they had laid in bed! Sauna & steam were both up to temperature, but the showers only pumped out VERY hot water so it was impossible to to cool down between sessions, towels though were plentiful. Lockers are available upon surrender of your cruise card - I never used one & just hung my clothes on a hook.
  23. I'm sailing on P&O Ventura this weekend & am hopimng all facilities are as per my last voyage, report to follow...
