  1. Welcome!

You're right on both aspects of the Concierge Class. They are located in specific areas of the ship (usually more desirable areas), and they are also differentiated due to the extra perks of being in a Concierge Class, as opposed to a regular Veranda cabin.

As for the one-cat upgrade, I really don't know. I know that if you are high enough in the Captain's Club program, they allow a one-category upgrade in almost any room, not just Aqua class. Maybe someone else can provide more insight on that question.

    De rien!

  2. Could someone please explain to me why this "focus" group gets special attention and consideration?

"Diabetics" or "Heart attack survivors" for example dont get special treatment or don't they count?

Possibly because alcohol is one of the/if not the most plentiful resource on a cruise? And someone who struggled with alcoholism might need a little support while in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by all that alcohol. And I'm pretty sure that the cruise line can provide meals for Diabetics, Vegetarians, Kosher observers, etc. Would you consider those "Special Considerations"?

    Stay classy.

+1 for this. Well said, lol.

  3. If they did make this change I hope they do away with allowing reservations for certain times or preferences for a certain table or waitstaff as this just reduces availability and makes it less flexible for everyone else.

This would alienate an entire segment of cruisers who like to have a set dining time every night, with the same waiter, same table, etc. Ya know, about half of this thread.

Anybody who wants Select already has it. Anybody who wants Traditional already has it. Why the need for any change at all? This seems like one of those situations where the status quo doesn't need to change. You want to eat at a specific time, just choose Select. You want scheduled dining, stick with Traditional. You want to choose from the myriad of Specialty dining, go right ahead. They are called options for a reason, and it makes no sense to limit your customers.

  4. Make sure to check out the World Class Bar as well as Slush, which is up on the pool deck. Below are links to the 10 drinks at the World Class Bar. The first three require a small up charge over and above the premium package limit. The other 7 choices are all covered by the premium package. Edit.....Here's a link to Slush. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showpost.php?p=43095785&postcount=98

Those drinks at World Class look amazing! Thanks for the info.

  5. Personally, I wouldn't be a fan at all. I like the structure of knowing that every evening at 8:30, my table would be ready and my waiter will be waiting for me. Having never tried Select, I can't really comment on it, however traditional dining is perfect for me. I don't need any other option than that. I just booked a group of friends for a 2016 sailing, and Select is the only option as well. I was told that is most likely because there are large groups blocking out seating times, but that will change as the sailing gets closer as people drop out.

  6. On our last 12 day cruise we traveled with two other couples that did not purchased the package and their cost at the end of the cruise was only about half of what we spent. They drank as much as us, but did not take advantage of the O.J., water, and speciality coffees.

This makes it seem like it's not worth it unless you also drink the specialty coffees and bottled water....slightly confused now, lol

  7. I was in Labadee in Januaray '09 and the beach that we were at was nice, but the water was very rocky. It was the beach with the volleyball courts, near the flight line. Was very difficult to even try snorkeling. I have to check out Nellie's Beach when I go back in May. Thanks for the info!
