Please help us understand how you know this to be fact?
The pure logistics make it very obvious , why dont you ask the manager of housekeeping next time you cruise but expect a positive answer as they know that is what you are looking for , hotels do not wash their duvets each changeover either , I am talking about the duvets themselves NOT the covers as previously mentioned , do you all expect the matresses to be cleaned each cruise too along with the toppers , come on get real !!:D
-
You disagree with me? OK, I didn't see what I saw. Fine, the room steward was not changing the duvet cover and it is always dirty. If I were you then I would bring my own sheets.
RE-READ please , that is NOT what I said , I said that the duvets were not washed each cruise , of course the covers are washed between cruises along with the sheets , and I am not one of the unrealistic people that expect the duvets to be cleaned each cruise , I have never heard of anybody being ill from the beds , a certain amount of germs are actually beneficial as if everything were clinically sterile there would be no immunity to ward off infections , ask a doctor , it is a cruiseship not a hospital after all:p

Hi everybody
We are hoping to book a cruise out of Houston/Galveston at some point and were wondering the best way to get to San Antonio and New Orleans for a few nights each prior to the cruise and the best way of arrranging it with them being either side of the cruiseport , I believe the best prices for flights is to fly into Houston from UK . Are there trains or buses to either or would it be best to fly , if so which airline would be the cheapest in your opinions ? Also are the prices like international flights ie. returns being cheaper or as cheap as buying a single flight ticket , all help gratefully received , thank you
-
I disagree with most of you , there is absolutely no way that they could wash and dry that many duvets during a cruise ready for the next changeover along with all the other washing they have eg sheets , table linen and towels , the sheer volume alone would require another area on the ship for storage , but lets hope they do get washed periodically at least , maybe deck by deck
-
Try to take your own powder etc too as the dispensers can be expensive or out of stock , I buy dizolve washing powder sheets , light and easy to carry and use , I also wander the ship but get back on time before the cycle has finished to avoid anybody removing our clothes from the machines

Just got back from a cruise and used Ephesus shuttle , excellent company , they guaranteed departure , even though we were the only ones on our tour (we did not book a private tour but one for up to 20 pax) the company honoured the price so we had our own driver and personal guide named Bill for the price of 41 euros each , we also tipped at the end of the tour , the guide himself said that the company is one of the best that he has worked for and he has been in the tour industry for over 15 years , I do not hesitate to recommend them

....with information on a luau or a Hawiian show. Sounds like you are looking for the same experience I am. I have been to Hawaii many times but my wife has not and I want her to experience a luau. I will be looking forward to your report on what you find out. Thanks again.
Hi
Had swift responses from both germaines and paradise cove , they both will pick up from the port , Germaines states 3.30 pick up , the luau finishes at approx 9 - 9.30 and they always drop off cruise passengers first to make the ships , this is their email :
We pick up guest from the cruise ships at the pier that the ship is docked at. That pick up departs at 3:30 P.M. Our luau finishes at about 9 P.M. and the bus will return guests from the pier first because most times they have to board before a certain time for departure. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us at toll free 1-800-367-5655 or 808-949-6626.
This is the reply from paradise cove when enquired about port pick up :
Yes give us a call to let us know, and remind of the drop off point at the end of the night.
Read good reviews about house without a key but with this being our first visit to Hawaii (and maybe the last as there is so much more of the world we want to see ) I think we would like to experience a luau
We want to go to the Arizona etc in the morning , get back to the ship to change for the evening luau , we are hoping to be off the ship first thing , does anybody know where the Star Princess normally docks at Honolulu please ???
Hope this info helps
Zoe:)

Yes, you can do that and many do, especially on the lawn area which just has mostly small cocktail tables and chairs. That was our intent when we were there in August, but we eventually got hungry and ordered an appetizer. Many people just eat off the appetizer menu.
Thank you , just the answer I was looking for

I too will be on Star Princess in March and would like to do either Germaines or Paradise cove if we can get back to the ship by 10.30 , have emailed them both for further details and have also asked at the military hotel if it is possible to book non military , don't want to leave it until our arrival as we may miss out on something else , have also looked at house without a key but it seems a bit on the pricey side with 14 $ for a mai tai , will try to post after I have had all the replies , have also asked for recommendaions for gemaines and paradise cove on this port of call board

There doesn't seem to be a recent thread for this ( last ones seem to be 2012) so thought I would repost
We are on the Star Princess in March in Honolulu until 11pm , would you recommend Germaines or Paradise Cove Luau , will we get back to the ship by 10.30 and do they pick up from the dock or Waikiki please , any info much appreciated:confused:

Hi fellow cc members
Is it possible to just go to House without a key for drinks and listen to the music all evening without dining ?
-
Do you know when will the princess@sea app be available , not the messaging service but just the app to check onboard activities and accounts please ?
-
Sure, go all the way to the front of the ship on the decks below the bridge.
On the right or left side of the ship there is a door that will take you out to the decks on the bow.
Take the steps up and you will be right on top of the bridge.
Thanks Salve

We will be on the Magica in October :D

Hi
Has anybody recently done the Eastern med cruise ?
We have booked for October and have noticed that we only really have half days in each port , I was wondering if this is enough time to do the ports on your own , eg. taking local transport to see the sights DIY ? We prefer to arrange our own tours or take local transport to really appreciate the different countries and cultures (and save money compared to ship tours)
Any help would be much appreciated
Thinking of taking ephesus shuttle tour and doing the rest on buses etc

Also if you buy 100 carnival shares (which at the moment give a better return than the banks ) you get OBC for all the cruiselines under this umbrella including Costa and Princess , it depends on the length of the cruise but for a week we will be getting 75 euros and for our Hawaii cruise next year on Princess $250 , not bad
-
Are there any secret decks like on the Princess ships which you can access through service doors to get to the front of the ship under the bridge ?
-
Star in February please :D
-
If you go to the Heathrow airport website and click on flight connections on the left you can find out recommended connection times for different flights leaving all terminals , we have 65 minutes in February to transfer but the flights arrive and leave from terminal 5 so hopefully if there are no delays we should be ok

Thanks guys
I downloaded zenmate as suggested by another cc member , bizarrely I can access the Princess UK sites homepage in GBP then when I research a cruise it shows the price in euros , but John Bull I could access the american sites so you could try this , I will just have to check regularly to see if the prices of my cruises has come down

Heard beginning Nov which is why I have a cruise booked from Venice for the 19 Oct , I have heard it is one of the most beautiful ports to sail in/out from and didn't want to miss out , but I must say after being to Venice last year the power boats zooming around the place are just as bad at aerating the water and causing problems with the foundations too

If the Arizona Memorial is of interest to you, order your "free" tickets on line. Do not take a tour
How and where please ????

Hmmm. Looks like there may be a problem as it asks you to check back later, but UK site showing euro's is  Have you tried clearing your cache then going to the site? Something is amiss, but what I dont know - not that tech savvy I'm afraid - maybe someone watching may be able to help
I'll keep checking , thanks , hopefully they are loading the sales onto the sites and that is why there are no prices , that would be nice , by the way where in Wales are you , I am from Porthcawl and my husband is from the Bridgend valleys

not sure what is happening here.
is Zenmate switched on and set to uk?
have you gone too http://www.princess.com/find/search.do?resType=C this being the uk site?
cannot think why this doesnt work for you. If you set Zenmate to US, do you see the US site priced in $?
I changed it to US site and it does show dollars on the home page but all Princess sites at the moment are not showing me prices when looking at cruises , they are all saying to check back later or phone an agent
The home page seems to be for the UK site but prices come up in euros
Bedspreads washed between guests?
