  1. Looking forward to any news on Auroras itineraries. Sue
  2. Our ages are 70 and 62. We started cruising in 2001 on Thomson Topaz and hated it. It took us until 2004 to try another on P & O Oceana, now almost 60 cruises later we are well and truly addicted. We prefer the Adult only ships but have young grandchildren who are desperate to go cruising with us so maybe trying Oceana again in the future. Sue
  3. A D deck balcony wouldn’t be my choice as you can’t see down only out. If you contact your TA they should be able to sort you a similar cabin on a higher deck or even E deck which have bigger balconies than D deck.
  4. Hi Peter, yes it is full waiter service inside or outside in the Beach House. We have had many excellent meals in there both inside and outside. I can recommend any of the sizzler plates, or the lava rock steak but my favourite is the seafood kebab. Enjoy. We will be back on Oriana on 21 st Dec for 7 weeks and will be enjoying many meals in there. Sue
  5. I have just returned from Arcadia and can confirm that the cabin service for 1 ltr bottle of Spirits still exists.
  6. We use a company called Cruise Park Southampton. They offer under cover parking for the duration of your cruise at a much less rate than parking at hotels or by the port. They include a private taxi to the port and return. Your car is ready for you on your return. We use them every time now but for longer cruises especially in the winter months they are perfect as the car is undercover from the elements. We drive down the night before and book the cheapest deal we can find for a bed for the night. Usually one of the Southampton holiday inns but not the one by the port as they charge more there. We book it well in advance and normally pay about £50 for the room and breakfast included.
  7. We have done all lengths of cruises but by far the best are the longer ones. The most we have done is 119 nights and I just wanted the Captain to turn the ship around and do it all over again. I have never known 4 months pass so quickly. We set off on Wednesday for a b2b 17 night followed by 28 nights and I am looking forward to every minute of it. We will only be home just over 4 weeks before we set off on a 15 night followed by 35 night cruise. Bring it on. I don’t ever remember being bored on a ship and I definitely have never been ready to get back to Southampton.
  8. I have just checked the 3 cruises we have booked. 2 on Aurora in May and June and one on Arcadia in September. All 3 have increased in price since we booked. We prefer to get our first choice of cabins and dining and always book on launch day. If the price decreases so be it but at least we have the cruise we want at a price we are happy with and the cabin and dining of choice. We booked for this Xmas on Oriana on launch day and now the price has risen by almost 100%.
