Another interesting way to find low fares.
A friend of mine uses a VPN network on his PC to mask his location. You can choose from 50 or so countries and the airline site thinks you are in that country. So lets say you choose England. The airline website thinks you are in England and shows you different prices than they show people in the USA. Usually much cheaper. So he books his tickets that way and says he has never had a problem. I haven't tried yet.

ITA matrix is great for BC fares. I also use Momondo. Between the two they usually find the lowest BC combinations
For my upcoming Regent cruise this August, I found on Momondo last December.
MIA-FRA-CPH on LH
OSL-ZRH-MIA on LX
Business Class $1850 RT/PP incl taxes.

Watch from 16:50 on...
I have been to China several times and yes that is the way they behave. My wife was spit on walking down the street. I don't think it was intentional, they are just as the video says "uncivilized".

Just read this:
Sounds like a great idea whose time has come. I know that the PG tried to do this several years ago and failed because the passengers just wouldn't accept it, but now I think public sentiment has turned around. I'm wondering if Regent, being a sister company, has similar plans.
What a great idea. Looks like they have systems for each suite. https://www.verowater.com/systems

Wow, one whole year in advance!! I had never heard of a cruise line with that policy. With regards to Regent, it does irritate me that cruises over 14 days have to make final payment 5 months in advance, including run of the mill Caribbean cruises like the 15 days Navigator I'll be doing in November. No way would I pay anybody one year in advance.
They do this to help finance the building of all their new ships. As long as the money keeps coming in they can continue.

Hello. My husband and I have sailed on a few different lines but most recently we sailed
six times in an NCL Haven Owner's Suite. What we liked about it was the 1 1/2 bath,
both forward and side balconies and priority embarkation. What we are looking for now is a
smaller ship that is more of a luxury experience with better food and service. We are thinking of
an Explorer suite on the Explorer. If anyone has any thoughts to steer us in the right
direction I would appreciate them. We are a quiet couple that appreciates educational
lectures (there were none on any of our NCL cruises) and visiting museums and local
restaurants. Thank you.
DON'T DO IT!!!!!
Regent is becomes a very expensive addiction. :)

Thanks for the video.
We are taking basically the same cruise this August on Explorer.
We just got back from a Chilean Fjords cruise. So it will be interesting to compare

Just off the Marina a couple weeks ago. Caipirinha's were available. If no Cachaca, then try a caipiroska made with vodka. Also very nice.

Agree, wine is very subjective.
With that said, the included wines on Regent are ok to good. You can usually find a favorite or two for the cruise.

There is a youtube of 13500. Same size balcony. You can see how huge it is.
-
We stayed in 13000 OS with large balcony this past May. Large balcony is an understatement. Literally could have played half court basketball game. The suite is also very bright and sunny being at the top of the ship. Other OS's videos looked dark and the balcony rather small so we chose 13000. No hot tub with the 13th deck OS's.
We spent a week pre-cruise in Maui and Oahu, so we spent a day using the balcony since we did everything we wanted on Maui pre-cruise.
This cruise is really about the islands and not the ship so much.

I think you are correct in wanting that information. We did a X'ian in the middle of a Regent cruise about 13 years ago and I am almost positive that we got/needed a visa. Visa requirements change, so maybe you don't need it, but I would want to be certain. I would check my passport for you, but I have renewed it since.

Intercontinental - Great location and reasonable price.
Mandarin - Beautiful resort with great views. Also very good restaurants

I never understand why people head to the port before noon anyway & when something like this or a crossing precedes the cruise it makes it worse
Just saying
We usually flying in a day early & stay at the hotel until time to check in usually have lunch ashore then hear to the port about 1-2 pm even if we can board earlier
Don't you know.....you have to get every single meal you can out of a cruise. Nothing is better than a buffet lunch. lol
We are on Marina next week in a suite that would allow 11 am boarding. We still wont go until 2 or 3 pm because we like to enjoy the city of embarkation. Relax people.

Two quick things..... when you book onboard, the booking is given to your TA so they do not miss out on commission.
Second, http://matrix.itasoftware.com is the website I use to find out prices and which airlines fly to where. I find it a useful tool.
Glad that the information is helpful!
Great tool... Thanks I'm saving it as a favorite.

Realistically it wouldn't take much to implement or maintain...but you have to wonder if there's really enough interest in this for Regent to set up and maintain it. I really don't think most people care that much about the crew until their 5th cruise or better, and by that time, we're already hooked.
The VAST majority don't care who the Captain or GM or FB or CD is going to be on any given cruise and staff changes constantly anyways. Travelcat2 and a few others care, but then again she already has most of them on her email contact list. LOL

Been on the Voyager 4 times and I still can't find the gym. I think they hid it.

Sailed on PG many years ago. Great time and concur with the views stated by pinotlover.

Leave in a couple weeks to sail on the Marina for 20 nights.
As food is soooooo subjective, I rarely pay attention to food reviews and would encourage others to take all food reviews with a giant grain of salt.
We have been to many many michelin star restaurants. Most I thought were fabulous. Others I wondered if the michelin reviewer was so drunk that even a Waffle House meal would earn a star.

When I saw the title
Boxing/Punching Bag on Riviera?
I thought they were asking who is the current GM?

You forgot my biggest annoyance
6) The couple who is constantly late back to the bus and we all have to wait for them. Even though they are reminded to be back on time, they are late at every stop.

The best of all worlds is to go in mid to late September, very early October when you miss the worst of the heat and crowds, and also have a good chance of avoiding the bad weather of later autumn. 2nd choice is late April and all of May which brings the spring greenery and wildflowers. I really need to book a cruise now that I think about it.......
100% correct.

I usually arrive around 8 to 8:30 for breakfast.

I know the carriage of contract always has that catch all phrase
"and anything the airline believes, blah blah blah that manipulates fare and ticket rules."
that is also applicable to hidden cities and throwaway segments. I have never heard of anyone getting caught in any of these circumstances. Any of you guys?
