  1. We were on the breeze for two weeks and I enjoyed this place ALOT.....for breakfast I would get a breakfast burrito....they had two kids of eggs plain or what they called mexican style it was just eggs with totamto and onion and peppers....and I would get these crispy potatoes they had with cheese and salsa and chicken sausage....omg they were amazing!!! for lunch I would get a burrito as well! so awesome!!..the tacos were good too and the salsa bar made them taste even better!!! They have alittle more variety then the regular burrito bars the other boats had....but definantly a huge plus in my addition! I do wish they had chips though, the old burrito bars had chips where you could get with salsa....they have a salsa bar but no chips

We couldn't find chips either. But we found French fries. Piled those with Carne Asada, cheese, beans all the fixings and then topped it off with salsa. So good.

  2. When I originally booked the tour with Rome in Limo, I told them that I wanted a guide for Pompeii and they took care of it for us. I think she is an independent guide who RIL regularly contacts as needed. It was really nice that RIL set it up for us so we didn't have to worry about finding a guide on our own when we got to Pompeii (and we used the same process for our guide at the Vatican the next day)

Great. Thank you. You are making this so easy for me. Thanks again for everything and the great review. Hopefully I can pay it forward some day.

  3. Her mom here! Yes, exhausted, but exhilarated. Try to plan some down days, laundry days, etc. Cruise is very port intensive, so you will be tired. You will be away for so long, that you can plan some very leisurely days in between. ALso, bring lots of over the counter meds. Everyone on the ship had colds, etc, and we knew and had cold pills, advil etc. Much harder to find in European stores. BUt if you have the time for a trip like that...go for it! The memories overtake the exhaustion!!

Thank you for the advice. It is greatly appreciated. We will take lots of meds with us.

We have spent the last few weeks planning. It is all booked. We will be in Europe for a month and visit 12 different countries. I hope it isn't too much or too long.

  4. I just wanted to let you know I totally agree with Dana on this one. We did have a guide through Pompeii that really made it all come to life for us. He was excellent and WELL worth the money. I doubt it would have been the same without his explanations. We did NOT get a guide for the Vatican or the coliseum and I really regret it. We wandered around and basically wasted our time in the coliseum. It was still exciting to see but I think it would have been much more fascinating if we had a guide with us. The Vatican was probably my least favorite thing to see...we felt like we were just herded through like cattle with very little chance to stop and observe. I think if we had gone ahead and gotten a guide it would have been much better. We ended up missing THE painting we wanted to see...

Michelangelo's Finger of God in the Sistine Chapel...not sure how we missed it but we did. :-( I have to say that overall the things we enjoyed the most were the things where we used private guides. Pompeii was certainly one of my favorite places and I'm sure our great guide had a lot to do with that. Pisa, Florence and the Almafi Coast were my other favorites. It was ALL wonderful!

Did you book a tour guide in advance or just find one when exiting the ship? i am looking forward to Pompeii more than anything else.

    . What about other ports?

We are trying to decide if we want to book private tour excursions in advance or wait until we get off the ship. With my wife and kids there are 6 of us so we need a van and want private tours.

  5. Aww thanks! :) I'm glad you are enjoying it! I have been very busy this week, but I am trying to work on the review as much as I can, and hope to have the next installment posted soon :)

Your review inspired me. I just booked airline tickets for me my wife and 4 boys. We will spend a month in Europe. We also booked a 2 week cruise on the NCL Spirit. Very similar ports to your cruise. Carnival has no ships there in the summer.

  6. There is no doubt that this was an exhausting trip! A bit part of that is because I got a cold on the first Friday, and I am still trying to get rid of it today, two weeks later :( I have been sleeping 10 hours every night since we returned on Monday, and I could probably use more sleep but I'm forcing myself to wake up haha

That said, it was a fantastic trip and we really tried to jam as much touring in as we could in a short time. There are some cruise itineraries which provide more sea days than ours, and if you have a full week pre- and post-cruise, you can schedule more downtime into your days, so you don't necessarily have to end up as tired and sick as we did! Whatever you decide, a month in Europe sounds amazing!! Please let me know if you have any other questions :)

Sorry you got sick. Thank you for the reply. I think we will be ok. It's not the kids I am worried about. It's me and my wife. Lol.
