  1. It was announced today on the news smoking is down 13 % in the USA or around that. So I can't wait till the casino on ships ban it. Ohio has a ban in bars and casinos and guess what people find places to smoke else where .

It is nice not having smoke in my face while there.

We skip the Detroit casinos and go on to Windsor for the reason alone.

  2. I am sure it is due to kids pushing every floor. No surprise there. Really I would rather walk the stairs and get the exercise instead. I am 66 years old.

My husband won't walk . A lot of the times I beat him.

I know in Vegas at the hotel we stay at the elevators will only go up so many floors. If we are in the upper floors we have to take another elevator that skips out say like the first 20 floors. Makes the trip faster for everyone.

I still take the steps if the hotel allows it. And my husband still refuses to walk.

  3. Oasis and Allure 3 times. We just take our own luggage and leave early.Avoid all the mess going out. Never had one single problem ever coming or going.

Things happen and that is part of traveling.

The cruise lines bend over back wards to get you on the ship and spend your

    money. LOL

I did feel in N.J. they were rude getting guests off the ship in Feb. Raining and snowing outside. It was like don't let the door hit you in the behind going out .

No real place to wait for a car or taxi . People wanted to go back in to get out of the nasty weather and the guards said no. Wait in the nasty weather. People in wheel chairs were sitting in the rain waiting for their pickups.Shame on RC for letting this happen ,

But Fla. was well organized. I won't ever go back to N.J. in the winter.

  4. We sailed Anthem in January and loved it. (except for the day I broke my

arm & spent the rest of the cruise in a cast. still doing therapy)

We booked a back to back on the Harmony in January 2017. Can't wait to

    hear of your experiences. :)

Did you break your arm on board or land? Did the ship doctors put the cast on? Just wondered if you had to go to a hospital on one of the islands you visited?

It is never a good thing to break a bone but at least it wasn't your foot.

  5. I am a diabetic and lost 45 pds before I went on cruises. I wear a fitbit which has helped me out . You would think you walk enough not to worry about getting enough steps a day. But the fitbit keeps you on track. I walk the track

and that is it. Or you might see me in the hall ways late at night getting in the steps.

I prefer eating in the Windjammer because I can get fruits and vegs. I am not

    a fish person at all.

I have never gained weight on a cruise. And I don't starve my self either.

Nor do I pig out every day. If you like to swim that is a pretty good exercise

    workout too.

Tried the gyms and hate them. So you can at least not gain weight and pat yourself on the back after a cruise you did it! You pig out than you just have to work out more that day.

  6. We are about to go on Medicare soon. I understand if we leave the country we are not covered in health benefits at all? Is that true? And if so what do you do for coverage while on the ship?

I can't get over how some people travel after they retire and never check into

health benefits. They just assume everything is taken care of.

  7. This is a beautiful ship and would go on it again. We went in 2015 in Feb. BUT

will never ever leave out of NJ in Feb ever again. If you all remember we had tons of snow that winter. It took 2 days to be warm enough to go on deck. Plus coming back it was awful weather as well. We didn't even think we could fly out that day due to weather.

I am from Ohio and in Feb. we want to get to warm weather right away. For us it wasn't worth going to N.J. We aren't ones to be on a ship in the summer. Too hot.

Just something to think about leaving in the winter out of N.J.

  8. Don't believe children below 18 can participate in this... Can someone elaborate...

Our 11 year old son went on the tour in Feb. and he enjoyed it. It is pricey I thought so. But we enjoyed it. It is something to do once in a life time. I don't think we would do it again . Free we would but not for $150.

  9. We have been on both Oasis and Allure . And will be going on Harmony in Feb.

So I am glad finally something will be on line to report before we go.

Always fun to be on a new ship. Have fun and can't wait to see the pictures.

Would like to know if they are going with one main dining room or several different dining halls at night. I don't care which they go with. I don't know why everyone was in such an uproar about the dining on the Quantum of the Seas. I was on that too. Not a big deal.

  10. We try and book the newest ships every year instead of doing the same ship over and over. Having different shows to go to and different activities .

We also go to Vegas each year as well. We always find something different to visit while there. I have to get away from the slot machines once in awhile. And we have been going for 20 years.

What is nice about a cruise 90% of the bill is paid up front before we even go on the trip. The rest is what ever you want to spend your money on during the cruise. We keep it pretty low. Where as Vegas a lot of money goes for expensive shows , food and hotels.

We have made a lot of friends on the cruises and keep in contact with them.

Even booked cruises with them afterwards.

I don't think I would like being on the same ship over and over would not be our cup of tea. It would get boring. And really in the end it is cheaper than Vegas and some of our other trips we go on.

  11. Why is there so little news on RC web site? I am going on the Harmony in 2017 in Feb. and can't find out much about the ship at all.

In general I don't think their web site has a whole lot of anything on the site.

I get more information on this web site than theirs.

Am I the only one that thinks so?

I really don't like facebook either. I am not one to report my life every day on line.

  12. It is no different than playing bingo on land. If you were a regular at bingo any where you will find out that is how most bingo halls run too. It depends what is taken in that night how much the haul will be for the jackpot.

go to the casino to try for a win there. gambling is gambling take your changes. And yes I have won in the casino. I took home a couple thousand one year. This year I was a loser.

Sure wouldn't get upset about a bingo game. They have lots to do on the ships. I would rather walk the track than sit in the sun for hours . That is boring to me.

  13. We were on the Oasis last week and the same thing happen to our group and several other people trying to get into a show. Come to find out the one hand scanner wasn't working right at the door. So we went to another door and that guys scanner worked.

I don't know if others got rejected too. We did go back to the first guy and let

him know his scanner wasn't working right.

  14. We were on the Oasis last week. We preferred the 5:30 to eat.We walked right in with no delays. By the time we left the lines were long for those who waited to get in later. It gave us time to go back and change our clothes and go to the different shows.

After the shows we had time to go to the casino late at night. It was hard to find time to sleep on that ship with so much to do.

We went to the Cats show and all five of us lasted the first hour. couldn't take the rest of the show and left. We left with half of the other people in that theater.

  15. Is the Oasis still going to Labadee with all the protests going on with their

president? Just wanted to know if that was skipped last week with their cruise.

I have been there before but would like to go with my sisters and grandson which none have been there before.

  16. I have a friend who lost expensive jewelry in her large suit case. It was her first cruise. Never lose site of anything of value or your medicines. Put it in your small suitcase and carry it with you to your room.

Another friend never got her large luggage till the end of the trip. And a

teenage boy told us at the airport he too didn't get his luggage the whole trip . But he had his swim trunks and that was all he cared about. If it had happen to his sister than the parents would of had a problem.

So yes I have heard of luggage disappearing from the port to your room.

  17. I know Oasis just had an organized bingo event in Dec. They play around 100 games throughout the week. Sounds like a couple who organize it as well as

all the travel arrangements . Large prizes are up for grabs . This isn't organized

by RC. RC must rent out the space .

What I want to know any one out there attended the bingo games? It is expensive to sign up but bingo lovers like it.

I know they have one in 2016 on Liberty RC ship in Nov. I just want to know if any one has been to one. And what are your thoughts?
