  1. Another vote for Hanger on the Wharf in Juneau. We ate halibut and chips there a couple of weeks ago. It's within easy walking distance of the pier (we were on Ovation). If you grab a table outside on the deck you can watch the sea planes come and go, as well. Two locals that day recommended Sandbar as the best in town, but as others have noted it's a bit inconvenient to get there from the pier.
  2. If you're planning on the hike up to Pic Paradis from Loterie Farm, I recall the open-air restaurant at the base was nice. If you hike in the morning, be sure to snag a lunch reservation when you pay the access fee before you head up the trail.
  3. And there it is. Thanks for the voices of reason.
  4. I posted this over in the Canada (Alaska/Pacific Coastal) forum, but since this forum has about 10x as many posts, I figured I'd see if anyone over here had any ideas. We're sailing to Alaska with Royal Caribbean in August. During our stop in Victoria, we've signed up via Royal to visit Butchart Gardens that morning. The bus is scheduled to get us back to the ship by 1:45 that afternoon. Independently of Royal, I've booked a bicycle tour of the town which is scheduled to depart at 1:30. I understand that the timing doesn't quite work out; it's a long story, but in order to try to fit in both activities, it wasn't going to work out for us any other way. My question is this - on the way back from Butchart Gardens, will the bus drop us off in town so that we can catch our cycling tour in time? Could I arrange for this at the excursion desk once on board? Anyone have a similar sort of experience? Thanks in advance for any feedback.
