I was on the Grandeur last week, and went into to future cruises to "possibly" book for December 2016 and they all swear in there, that they have no idea why its taking so long. They say they know nothing.
I ended up purchasing a future cruise credit. I am also actively looking at other cruise lines, as I think the prices are going to be much higher.. just my own feeling..My own guess is longer cruises to different ports? so higher $$$
I wish they too would post them! I like to plan early too.
Hi Chris, we cruised the Grandeur in March and I'm still waiting for them to release the new schedule and wondering about the prices too. Seems like they aren't dropping prices like they used to. We were spoiled by the great prices for the Explorer.

Good morning friends and welcome to day nine of LIVE from Quantum of the Seas! We are about two and a half hours away from docking at St. Kitts and I have a tour arranged through Thenford Grey Tours today with friends joining me.
So stay tuned as the day gets underway! :)
St. Kitts is a beautiful island and you will enjoy the tour with Thenford. The views from the fortress are incredible. Can't wait to see your pics.

We've arrived at the hotel
The hotel bar
The beach and the water is very nice here
Just wondering if you took the water taxi and then walked to the hotel and is it located on the boardwalk. Do you have to make arrangements before you get there and just curious the per person cost if you don't mind my asking and understand if you don't want to say. Looks very nice and I would love to check this out when we are there in December. Thank you for taking time on your vacation to answer our questions. Loving this live review.

We are at the Holland House Hotel enjoying a beautiful day at the beach!
Quantum is the ship in port today
Nice being the only ship in port

Have no worries. The Grandeur is a lovely ship. Here is my youtube from our January 2015 10 day cruise on the Grandeur. Lots of photos of the ship, the food, the ports and, of course, us. I think the video will give you a good idea of what the ship is like.
Loved your video. Grandeur is a beautiful ship

Hi, my wife and I like to dance onboard our cruises and I am wondering how the venues are for ballroom style dancing is on the Grandeur. We have cruised on the Enchantment and enjoyed it, but I do know she is stretched which I do believe created an additional dance area called "Bolleros if I remember correctly. Do they still offer dancing in the Centrum?
Thanks:)
We were on the Grandeur in March and there was always a variety of music in the Centrum to include ballroom dancing. We loved the Grandeur.

I'm waiting for Royal to release the 12 night schedule too. We were on the Grandeur 2 weeks ago and Danney from Next Cruise was talking about some new itineraries. As a matter of fact the Grandeur is doing a 9 night Canada/NE end of May 2016 and we are booked. It will be nice to go north and have some warmer weather.

Dry dock is April/May 2017.
Northeast for winter 2016/2017 not posted yet.
Should be any day now.
We just returned from the Grandeur and I'm waiting for the 12 night cruise itinerary to be released. That was mentioned on the cruise by Danney from next cruise. Some of the new itineraries for 2016 are out and we booked the Canada/NE cruise for the end of May 2016. Will be nice to go north and not have to take winter clothes

We really like Citizen eco-drive, never needs battery, most ships have a nice selection, my wife bought hers on a ship.
We like the Citizen eco-drive watches too. We bought ours in St. Thomas across the street right near the ship. Like others have said do your homework at home and look at what you like and the prices. Have some fun in the ports shopping. I don't always stay with the ship recommended shops. You can find most of the same watches in most shops.

Have you cruised with RCI since attaining Platinum level? The pin should be in your stateroom on your first cruise AFTER attaining the level. If you don't get one, ask your stateroom attendant. He/she will get you one.
We became D+ a few years ago and never received the pins. I just asked for them on our cruise on the Grandeur. Should have received them on the Explorer. I did contact Crown and Anchor and all they sent me were the luggage tags

The sale has been going on for some time. Depending on when you want to cruise, you can put a deposit down and cancel before final payment without penalty

Today’s parting shot comes (sort of) from the Welcome Back party. Captain Trond was discussing the various ships in the fleet and how the Grandeur is now one of the smallest ships in the fleet. He added (as he often does) “This ship has something that the bigger ships do not–personality.” With the direction the cruise industry is going I’m actually a bit surprised that he is allowed to say that. It certainly resonates with me–most of the ships I sail carry under 1500 passengers and my last transatlantic was the 150 passenger Wind Star, and it resonated with many of the people in the audience. Long live the ships with personality.

I was on the 3/21/15 cruise and attended the welcome back party. This was our first time on the Grandeur and absolutely loved the ship and the Centrum was always alive with music and dancing. I can't say enough about this beautiful ship. Thanks for helping me relive wonderful memories of a wonderful cruise.

Question for those of you in the know. I booked a cruise BOGOHO. We are D+ and booked a balcony with the $350 discount. However, we cannot get the $200 OBC because it is not combinable with the balcony discount. My question is can I add OBC from my VISA points.

sorry about the post... guess i should have looked first. those that are cruising, have fun! thanks for the update!
No cruises from Boston in winter, but you can cruise from NY or NJ year round

At that point, I would have asked for the head waiter and another seating arrangement. And, I would have explained why.I would have dipped my roll in her soup and then winked at her.
We need a like button

We were on a cruise and sitting at dinner with another couple we did not know and after the first night we never used the butter if she was at the table. She would take her roll and dip it in the butter after every bite. In all the cruises we have done this was the first for this and the worst table mates we every had. There is nothing wrong with the wrapped butter pats in my mind.
And this is why we have foil wrapped butter and I agree nothing wrong with it

Maybe it's me, but what's all the hype with these pay for restaurants. I know it's none of my business what people do with their money, but we find the MDR food to be very good. This is just my opinion so no flaming please.

The windjammer suspended self serve early in the cruise and purel was mandatory. Even salt and pepper packets were handed out. Touch screens were disabled and most crew didn't handle sea pass cards. Walls ...doors ...tables.. everything was being cleaned constantly. The crew was amazing! But yet the casino stayed open and I did not see anyone asking players to sanitize before handling the slot machines.

Maybe you have hit on something.....could the casino be an open area of contamination that isn't paid the same attention as other parts of a ship....just asking, not accusing.I'm going to carry a packet of sanitizing wipes and wipe the buttons before I play. Don't forget to use your elbow to push the elevator buttons. It's just that time of year, but I've seen some disgusting stuff on ships. We wash our hands often and try to avoid the buffet if possible.

just got back from my cruise aboard Independence of the Seas. The last day of the cruise I noticed the crew asking everyone overtly to fill out the survey with 10 being the best and their specific areas they worked in (windjammer, MDR, etc).
i'm assuming the 1-10 scale matters to the crew a lot but how about the comment section. If I write down a specific crew member's name and a paragraph about his/her outstanding service will they be recognized or is it more of a "feel good box"
We had some issues with MTD management staff and their attitude on our last cruise. I filled out the survey and told them about the problems we had and I was surprised when I received a call from Royal. So yes they do read the surveys and take it serious. This was the first time I've ever given some negative feedback. Now our waiter and assistant were wonderful and I gave them an excellent.

Does anyone know an email address that I can get a response from? I would like to go high up as possible. I have booked two future cruises with a total of 6 rooms and I am deeply regretting it at this moment.
Hopefully you will be able to get this resolved. I wouldn't worry about the future cruises just yet. See what Royal will do for you and if you are not satisfied remember you can cancel the future cruises up until final payment without penalty. Hopefully if won't come to that

I don't feel it's a sale at all and I've thought that from the beginning. This is just my opinion.
