  1. While on board my very recent Celebrity cruise, I inquired about the severity of the cases of those who tested positive.on any of the cruises she was on in the past year.   There was never an emergency evacuation or something that required extraordinary measures by the medical staff on board. due to Covid. As with all viruses, there are varying degrees of severity (think flu, shingles, colds, pneumonia etc.)  All the hysterics over Covid, in my opinion, are not warranted.

  2. I was on the Edge on its TA and bought a $300 bracelet that when I got home (it was in the jewelry bag they gave me) I took it out and it was in two pieces!

My question is this:  Is there any way to get it either replaced or repaired OR refunded.  Who should I contact at Celebrity?  If any one has experience with something like this, please let me know how it was resolved.

    Thank you

  3. Thanks for you review!  We will be getting on the Edge for its TransAtlantic the end of October.  We have been on her once before and loved it.  We had a sunset veranda which has a traditional balcony.  This time we're in a Sky  Suite.  I agree that the infinite veranda is not how I would like sail.  That being said, our friends who were on with us really liked it!  It does have something for everybody!  I found the most noise where there shouldn't be (IMHO) is the Fine Cut Steak House.

    Just a question....

how effective Now are the original 2 shots we received when the vaccinations first came out early in 2021?

We have followed up with all of our additional boosters, but I know there are people who only got the first two shots.

As I understand it,  to board the ship today we just have to present our Vaccination Card.  There may not be any follow up boosters on it.

So, if the original 2 shots are still effective, why do we need boosters?  and if the original vac's aren't still effective, then maybe those without boosters should be considered UnVac'd!

    Just asking......😟

In my opinion, they are still just about as effective as the first 2 boosters!  I had the original series and then got Omicron (a mild case to be sure).  I should have some natural immunity at this point, so no new boosters for me.

  5. Having never done a crossing, I'm just trying to decide if going up a deck and way forward is the smartest thing for me to do.  I'm sure my midship SS will be just fine and it's on the port side so will be getting more sun.  While I would like the extra room we should be able to manage with what we have. (just hoping there's enough room for all my clothes for 14days!!!  LOL)  Thank you for your insights!

  6. I am trying to decide if I should make a Move Up offer for a Celebrity Suite on our Edge TA.  Those cabins are so far forward that I'm worried about feeling the motion of the ocean more than in my midship SS.  Anyone have an opinion?  We are not prone to seasickness but have never been on a crossing before either.

    Thanks for any insight.

  7. I just purchased a policy that as long as you buy it prior to final payment, it will cover pre-existing conditions.  I'm sure if I purchased it within the 10-21 day time frame (the companies differ) it would have been less expensive.  I used theinsurancestore.com and for another cruise I used squaremouth.com.

  8. We will be on the Edge for the 14 day TA in October.  We are in a suite and have liked Luminae but for 14 days we would like a change.  We have been to Eden for dinner on her first year of sailing and really enjoyed it but as I recall the menu didn't change during our 7 day cruise.  I have read they changed the Eden dinner menu post Covid. Does it change?  Also, does Luminae rotate their menu during a 14 day cruise?  Any help would be much appreciated.

  9. We have a noon check-in time Monday and we are driving over from Naples to the port (a two hour drive).  Which terminal does the Freedom of the Seas depart from?  Which parking garage is closest to that terminal?  Should we lug our luggage from the garage to the terminal or is there a drop-off area?  Is the garage usually full so you have to park elsewhere?  Anyone with information about this would be greatly appreciated.

Let us know what happens!  This seems crazy!  Not only does it not compare but don’t the water park tickets come with the water park cabana?  So now you’d have to spend hundreds on water park tickets in addition to paying for a cabana you didn’t want.  If it were me I’d take the water park cabana or no cabana at all.  You will need to be in the water park with the kids at all times when the kids are there. Better off buying tickets and grabbing a chair there most likely.  Good luck!

To update everyone, I emailed the address I got from SAM JR.  I received an email this morning that they contacted the excursion desk on FOS and by some miracle they had a very late cancellation for the cabana at the waterpark.  All turned out great but I'm keeping a printout of the communication from Royal just in case.  Thank you all for your helpful responses!!!

I agree.  It is unacceptable.  I would contact RCI, preferably by email so you have written documentation, and say it is unacceptable.  You booked the cabana type that you wanted and it is unfair for them to switch with no consideration.

I think then you say you understand their situation (THEY overbooked), but you selected the Thrill Waterpark cabanas because that's what you wanted for your traveling party.  However, if they <insert something here... 1/2 price refund on the cabana?>, you are willing to accept the Chill Island cabana.

The trick is knowing what you are willing to accept, and ask for a little more.

You don't say how soon your cruise is.  If it's soon (within 30 days), I'd go straight to the mbayley email others have posted on here.  If longer, I would give their normal channels a chance, but a limited chance, like maybe 3 business days.

We leave Monday!  and I got this email today.  What is the email I should use?

  12. Doing a short cruise on Freedom of the Seas in June to Bahamas and back.  Since we will be driving to the port, which lot should we park in or does it matter?  It looks like Royal departs from Terminal A.  For those that have done this,  we would appreciate your insight.  Thanks in advance.
