  1. don't feel bad about being aggravated! on our last cruise with the kids our daughter was putting up a huge stink in the mdr on our last night so i picked her up, left without eating and went back to the room. i put her in the crib for a nap and went on our balcony and cried lol i really had had enough and felt like i didn't get a "break" or was able to relax all week. hoping our next cruise in a few weeks is better since everyone's a lil older now :)

  2. I think i bought the bedrail from walmart.com. we brought a double stroller on the last cruise, but will probably opt for just the umbrella stroller this time. A lot of people recommend a reclining umbrella stroller so they can try to nap in it while you are walking around doing things.

I'll report back on camp carnival and how it all went and their activities! :)

  3. We have cruised with our now 5 year old on the Pride 6 times. She has been going to Camp Carnival since she was 2.

The first night they will provide a schedule of all activities. On port days they are open pretty much the entire day. On sea days there is usually a large break in the middle of the day.

At night they hold Night Owls from 10pm-1am for a fee. There is only one night now they do a themed party (In the past there were more). They do provide blankets and pillows if the children fall asleep.

Thanks for the information! Not sure if we'll partake in night owls. My in laws are sailing with us so i was thinking one night leaving them with them so mommy and daddy can have a night out on the ship! Lol.

  4. we cruised last yr with our son who just turned 3 and our 18 month old daughter. we're sailing again on the pride in a few weeks with our son who will almost be 4 and daughter just turned 2 a few months ago. we haven't tried camp carnival yet, but will be giving it a go this time around. not really sure how it will go because our daughter is clingy, but son is easy going. we shall see lol.

the pride does have a great lil waterworks area for the younger kids. our kids had a blast playing in there last year and i'm sure this time around will be the same.

not sure if you've thought about sleeping arrangements or where the 2 yr old will sleep, but we purchased an inflatable bed rail to put on the sofa bed for our son and it worked out great. we also brought a folding potty seat that fits right over the regular toilet seat and a step stool for the bathroom. not sure if you're potty training yet or not but it came in handy!

some tips would be grab boxes of cereal and bananas from the buffet in the morning to carry around with you for quick handy snacks. we also ordered pb&j sandwiches from room service and brought some baggies so we could put the sandwiches in and bring them ashore with us. works out great if you have picky eaters and to have something quick to give them to avoid meltdowns lol

bring extra sippy cups just in case any get lost. we also brought a lot of wet ones disinfecting wipes so we could wipe down everything in our cabin, and to wipe down tables and highchairs during meals.

we brought any meds they might need (motrin, vitamins, cough stuff just in case, etc) tons of sunscreen, white noise machine, and their own blankies/stuffed animals from home.

if you have any other questions i'd be happy to try and answer them :)

  5. My husband and I are cruising on the Pride in May (29). It has been a while since we have been on Carnival and we have never sailed the Pride. Can anyone tell anything that we must NOT miss on ship? What specialty restaurant they would recommend? Any food on the menu that should not be missed? Any tricks or tips that we should know that would be helpful? What is the Hasbro game and is it funny? Does anyone have copies of the Sea Compasses that give all the days activities they can share?

If anyone has any ideas for Nassau and Freeport would love to hear that as well. We are beach people.

I would ask this on my roll call but it is really slow. NOT many folks on it at all. I know folks are using other social media sights, but I wouldn’t even know where to begin for our May 29 cruise.

Thank you in advance for sharing and information that you can.

my favorite area on the Pride is the Serenity adult only area. It has its own pool, hot tub and bar. get there early though because it fills up quick!

the steakhouse is nice and if you go on the first night you get a free bottle of wine (not the greatest selection though...:p) i haven't tried bonsai sushi yet but plan on it in April.

if you go to the bahamas forum section you may be able to get some more ideas on what to do in nassau and freeport. we've been there a few times but never really did anything. walked to junkanoo in nassau once and it was decent for a free beach.

pride is really a great ship. she's our vacation home! :)

  6. the only way i've done this is by looking back at my credit card statements. I wish i would have saved confirmation emails or other documentation. i'd like to see how the costs keep increasing over the years  i remember 5 yrs ago a balcony on the liberty out of miami was $589pp... i don't see prices like that these days...

  7. I received the letter today too as well, but also got an e-mail from them a few weeks ago telling me about the offer as well. I already booked a cruise and paid it in full on 1/14, so I'm really excited that I have 6 months to pay it off with 0% interest. I just looked at my statement and it has the promotional rate listed for our deposit and final payment. Maybe you could call and complain and see if they could extend it?

  8. The Pride really is a great ship. Her 2.0 upgrades are great. Very easy to navigate and never feels crowded. I love the Serenity area and how it is in the back of the ship, has a pool, hot tub and its own bar which is super convenient! It's also just outside of the door to lido buffet so it can't be anymore convenient to grab a snack and relax in the sun! We're sailing her for the 4th time in a few weeks and I cannot wait. Staff has always been awesome and the ship is very well maintained. We're so lucky to have such a great ship only an hour from our home! :)

  9. Some of you asked for an update when I first posted this thread, so I thought I'd let you know we ended up booking the Pride today! YAY! (also, yay for 50% deposits)

Again, thank you everyone for your feedback. We're excited to cruise on the Pride and actually drive to port for once, but know that we'll be on the Vista in the future as well. Maybe I'll see y'all on board :)

Good choice! :) The Pride really is a great ship. Will be going on her for the 4th time this April :D

  10. We were waitlisted for anytime dining on our upcoming cruise and were put into late seating. I received an email not too long ago that my dining choice was confirmed and we were put into anytime dining. There's still a chance they may be able to switch you to the time you want.

If you get stuck with anytime dining you just go to the dining room whenever you're ready for dinner. We've never had to wait long or at all for a table. If you find a waiter you really like you can request the same area each night to get the same wait staff.
