  1. iriemon - that's us too. My husband had cancer when we married, 17 years ago, and he still has it. They had us call Hospice two years ago, but he's doing well now. So I too really want to customize the ceremony. I think I should just talk to the onboard party planner once we're on Maasdam.

And yes, for sure, I'll be happy to post here whatever vows they send me.

  2. I just booked it and Ship's Services told me that a portrait in NOT included in the ROV, just the activity sheet. Also, I asked for a copy of the vows and apparently I'm the first person ever to ask that! They're going to get them from the ship and email them to me. She did tell me that there's no opportunity to personalize the vows, which makes me a bit sad, but we'll go with the flow.

  3. Ok, my husband loves this idea, so I'm almost ready to book it. Someone mentioned writing their own vows - how does this work? Do you tell Ship's Services that you're going to do that? Do you think the ceremony could be done out on deck, weather permitting?

  4. Aislinncursala - I eat just about like you do, except I don't do beans at all. I give a do/don't eat list to the MDR on arrival and they do make me sauces, cream and/or wine-based ones. I'm just trying to eat more fat than Bernstein recommends, otherwise I'm with him.

  5. I've cruised on X and HAL since a Dx 2 1/2 years ago, and ate very well on my very low carb regime, at that time under 50 gms per day. But now I've ditched the Metformin and am controlling even better with high fat, low carb - I try for 80% of calories from fat every day. I'm thinking that will be a hard one for the HAL kitchen to comprehend, since most people ask for low fat. Has anyone succeeded in getting really high fat in the MDR?
