  1. What's the latest info on Fulton Street Garage?  I have used them for over a decade.

I don't see any specific options on the website about the rate for a cruise.
All I see is a flat daily rate of either $17 for the roof or $19.

Doing a back-to-back so it comes out to $304 for the inside parking with taxes and fees etc for 14 days.

This is for late Feb early March.

  2. Need to use some points ASAP from this card.  Don't have any travel to apply at the moment. On hotels gift cards are frequently handled by 3rd parties and are NOT typically flagged as travel and therefore you can't apply points.  Does anyone know if you buy gift cards directly from Celebrity if the are flagged as travel thus allowing you to apply points?

If not Celebrity has anyone found other mainstream cruise lines that do flag gift certificates as travel?

shareholderbenefit@RCL.COM   It's on the  pdf form but they are trying to get people to use the online submission so making it hard to find the manual form.

We requested yesterday morning by email at

    ShareholderBenefit@rccl.com

We received our OBC credit this morning.

    Good luck!

I actually submitted via both methods and had the OBC applied to 2 cruises within' 12 hours.
So, I am not entirely sure which one worked.  😀

In my experience, the terminal check-in experience is so streamlined it hardly takes any time.

I've been on four cruises since the restart including a CCL one in December; the check-in workers have never spent more than a few second looking at either the vax card or Covid test.  I'm sure folks are out there who more heavily scrutinize them but I've yet to encounter anything other than a long glance. I'm trying the Verifly app on my sailing next weekend, after registering it wouldn't utilize my vax QR code I had to manually enter everything.  So far I've spent around 5 total minutes registering/populating the app and I haven't even tested yet so will still need to upload that.

I ran into the same thing but with the COVID test results this morning.  Took the Binax in home proctored test, which was negative.
Opened the VeriFly app to add the negative test, tried scanning the QR code and "not recognized".
So had to download the results to the  phone then upload that file.

It was manually approved and added within' a couple of minutes, however.

Odd that the Abbot test QR code wouldn't work.

Anyhow, got it all done including the questionnaire which is step 4 so I am all set.

Sounds promising!  I went ahead and grabbed 100 shares shortly after the market opened this morning and already submitted.  I leave on the Glory out of NOLA 2 weeks from yesterday.  Fingers crossed it shows up before I get off the ship in just under 3 weeks.  If not, no biggie.

Just happy to get back on a boat for the first time since  Feb of '20 before the wheels all came off.

Just a follow up on this.  I got notice this morning that the $100 OBC was approved and applied to my account.   Kudo's to this department for the crazy fast turnaround.  Only 8 days from submission to confirmation.

The last 2 cruises I took, January and 2 weeks ago, I had sent in the request 2-3 weeks before the cruise.   It was approved during the cruise, and the OBC applied at that time.  So, even though it might be last minute, go ahead and submit.

They are running a few weeks behind, due to staffing issues, but it might make it.

You don’t have to own them for a certain period. Just use the trade advice you get when you buy the shares.

the OBC just goes into your account, it will offset gratuities just fine.

Sweet! Thanks for the info and your help!

We just got the notification about going to guest services about 30 minutes ago so we were unable to try that method (cruised last weekend).  Just sharing the response we got for others who might be booking last minute and wanting to get the OBC.

Awesome!  Thanks for the info!  🙂

I just got a notification of how to deal with shareholder OBC when the sailing date is last minute.  Wish I would have known this last week since we sailed 3 days after we booked the trip.

"Applications to receive the shareholder benefits (onboard credit) should be made at least three weeks prior to cruise departure date. In the future for last minute reservations, you can bring the statement with you onboard and take to guest service desk."

So you just took the statement from your brokerage to guest services and they were able to apply to your account on board?

It sure didn’t look too rough! I’m assuming the sushi and the filet mignon being served up had to do with the amount of food that would start spoiling if it wasn’t eaten. I was curious to follow his vlog over the next few weeks to see if that kept up!

I believe it was in the "Chops" vlog where he actually used the term "leftovers".  He's a bright guy and I am sure he and the others realize that "top shelf" grub was going to be short lived.  LOL!  Good for them getting to enjoy it while it was available however.

Chris sounded like he was enjoying himself and I think he feels safer on the ship than going home to the UK. That was my take anyway.

He was sure enjoying himself in Chops and the sushi place earlier this week.  You could tell in his latest vlog where he said he was being sent home that he was none too enthused about it.  I would think he is safer.  They are all being closely monitored, having their temps checked daily etc.  They are doing some cleaning but it sounds like they are giving them plenty of time to enjoy themselves.  Much deserved but I knew they weren't going to allow them to "lay up" out there long term.

Interesting.  He assumes only a 40% decline in passengers vs 2019.  Basically every cruise ship is operational by end of May at pretty close to capacity.  He does not take into consideration the cost of FCC bonuses for canceled cruises. Nor does he factor in lower prices, more OBC to entice passengers.  Nor factoring in a need for a massive marketing campaign to get people to sail again.

Basically he is assuming that it will act like the seasonal flu and disappear in the spring, but unlike the flu won’t return next fall.

    I am not that optimistic.

    This ^

I would love to hear their explanation of this quote,
"The industry is resilient and has fared through far worse."

What exactly has been "far worse" than a complete shut down and total shut off of income for who knows how many months?

My Daughter  in Gulfport, MS. texted me that WLOX News was reporting that the Carnival Valor and the Carnival Freedom will be docking there today with the possibility of another ship as well.  I know of at least one other cruise ship has done this in the past when the Mississippi River at New Orleans was too high to safely go under the power lines crossing the river.

I also wonder if the Port of Mobile will also be used.

Majesty is headed to Gulfport as well.

Looks like The Glory and The Getaway got the two slots in NOLA with the Valor and Majesty headed for Gulfport.

Yes, that would be great for all of them. They all work a lot of hours! Also they are all getting free wifi which is nice of Royal to do. Normally they charge them $4 an hour if they want to use it and it is barely usable it is so slow.

Excellent news!  The entertainers have very different lives than "Carlos" down in the bowels of the ship, scrubbing toilets in inside cabins.  It makes me feel good knowing he may be able to get out and get fresh air and see some sunshine for a change.
Hopefully they are also giving them all some good grub up in the Windjammer.

We just gotta hope the heat slows this stuff down and they can get back to work after this initial 30 day shutdown.
Unfortunately I don't see the cruise line just letting them all chill out there with pay for months on end.

The ones I talk to are entertainers so I don't think they will have to do anything like that. The crew had their meeting this morning and they didn't mention anything like that. Housekeeping,  cleaners and food servers still have to work(has to be a much lighter workload than normal I would assume). talked to them again today and they said what changes were going to be made.

Crew mess is closed. Windjammer is open for crew. Crew bar closed. Cafe promenade will be open for a few hours. Crew bar is now closed and pool bar is the new crew bar. They are having sea days and might go to coco cay. This is all a very fluid situation. 15 days they go back to port so the sign off crew can get off.

That sounds great!  Hopefully they all do indeed get to have a bit of well deserved R&R during the middle of all this.
