  1. We rebooked this morning on the earlier 17/1/16 trip, same cabin and more importantly same price that we originally agreed with €200 OBC. they wouldn't give us anything more. I'm still annoyed because if I had booked this trip in the first place it would have cost less than the cancelled one as it didn't include Chinese New Year so still a win win for Celebrity. The only feasible alternatives cost wise were the Caribbean and we wanted a change. Off on the Eclipse in two weeks with a drinks package so maybe we'll make very good use of that !

  2. From reading the Connections posts the cruise is definitely chartered and emails are being sent to tell people they are cancelled. I haven't heard from my TA yet but they are now closed for new year. As a loyal Celebrity customer since the first British based cruise on the Eclipse in 2010 and many more since then ( elite now ) I feel badly let down. I still want a cruise in January 2016 but am waiting to hear what Celebrity intend to do to compensate all their disappointed customers. Does anyone know if they do this ?

  3. We booked this cruise several weeks ago and it appeared as usual on the 'my celebrity' page showing all our future booked cruises. I just checked the page and it has disappeared from the list. I tried to input it as a missing reservation but a ' this page does not exist ' message comes up. Have emailed Celebrity for an answer. I agree with others this is not a good way to treat regular (as well as Elite status ) customers. Anyone else checked their page?

  4. Hi. We have done quite a few cruises from Miami and there is always a day room if the flight departs after 6pm. The only thing to remember is that the day room at the Sheraton requires you to check out by 4pm so you can sometimes have to hang out in the lobby for a couple of hours as the bus will usually pick you up three hours before your departure time. An alternative that we have done where we book our own flights separately is the Miami airport hotel right inside the airport terminal. You can book a day room online. It's not luxurious but okay for a day room and the restaurant is certainly better than the rubbish fast food outlets in the airport itself.

One thing you must do is check in online on the ship because the queues at the airport check in can take ages. At least the bag drop line is a bit quicker!

    Have a great holiday.

  5. For us the answer is simple. Solstice class if we want Aqua class. On M class ships just a balcony. The Aqua class cabins on M class are not as good and Blu is too small, so always a wait for a table. By contrast the bar and lounge areas in M class are nicer to sit and watch the dancing .

  6. We have stayed here several times the last being just a month ago. It is clean and basic but a great location by the beach and lots of bars and restaurants nearby. We got a room in the south tower last time and it was by far the best room we've had here. I joined the Sheraton loyalty scheme just before we left home and it seemed to help us get a better room. Just try being extra nice and smiley to the reception staff . If worked for us. The breakfast here is good too and a taxi to the port only cost us $15 inc a tip.

  7. We tried P&O for the first (and last ) time three years ago on the Azura having done a few Celebrity and Royal Caribbean cruises . There is absolutely no contest here. The Azura was only a year old then and showed signs of wear but the main problem was the sheer number if people on board and the lack of public areas. Whereas Celebrity ships never seem crowded the Azura was cramped and especially on sea days it was nigh on impossible to find a seat anywhere. The bars were always packed in the evening and the waiters impossible to find. The worst bit was the buffet for breakfast or lunch. You could just not move in there and we took to ordering room service for the rest of the trip. We have just returned from the Eclipse Caribbean trip and it was superb . The crew were the friendliest we have ever had and the ship is still as lovely as it was when we first sailed on her in 2010. No contest !

  8. We will be in New Orleans in March for a couple of nights just before our cruise staying at Maison DuPuy in the French Quarter. As it's my husbands 70th birthday then,I would like to take him out for a really nice meal but really have no idea where to start as we have never been here before. Any suggestions please. He likes his steaks etc but won't eat really spicy stuff! Thanks for your help.

  9. We found that coloured cotton shirts etc came back okay but white lace on underwear was distinctly yellowed . Can only assume they put everything in together so beware. Also check your labels for items that shouldn't be tumble dried as clothes do seem to be a bit tighter on return ( or maybe something to do with eating too much , I don't know ! )
