  1.  I would consider the Rock and Romance, but it's back to back with Flower Power next year and we don't like to be away from our babies (fur not human) that long.  Definitely want to do the Malt Shop but that conflicts with a Jimmy Buffet themed weekend we do in Key West every year.  Are there other oldies themed cruises we can look at?

    Can I hijack this, please?

What terminal does X use for Summit in Miami?  If all goes well (meaning I manage to test myself while on the ship), I'll be disembarking and then boarding MSC Seashore, which should be at Terminal F.

Port of Miami says X uses Terminal C.  Should be a 15-minute walk, at most.  Dragging a suitcase won't be a lot of fun, but I wouldn't expect a taxi or uber driver to pick me up for a 3 minute drive!

Belated answer.  It was C and we had to go to F for our covid swab.  They put us on a bus and drove us there, but our friends walked and said it wasn't that far.  But they weren't dragging suitcases with them.

Hi @cruisegal415!  How did the Flower Power thing go?  I did two other themed cruises in the month before yours.  They're a lot of fun and addictive.  Maybe you caught the bug too?

OMG it was the MOST FUN ever! Definitely caught the bug.  Want to go on the Malt Shop one but it conflicts with another music event we go to, Parrotheads in Paradise in Key West (not a cruise unfortunately).  It was a hoot and a half! Yes, people dressed up, we dressed up, lots and lots of tie-dye.  Music was non-stop and excellent! Can't rave enough about it.  First time on Celebrity, not real impressed with the food quality or choices, but ship was nice. It wasn't about the ship, though, it was about the music and having fun with like minded people.

I was on Millenium 2/21, sister ship to Summit.

    1.  As I usually do, I just asked the room steward for a gallon of distilled water.  It was delivered within hours.

    2.  I brought standard extension cords...no surge protection.  One was packed in my CPAP carry case and another in luggage.  No problem.  But if you have a power strip, who knows?

    3.  We had a Celebrity Suite.  There were AC outlets on BOTH sides of the bed.  A bit hidden, but room steward will show them.

We are in a concierge class veranda room, hopefully it is the same in there.  We usually bring extension cords, not power strips or surge suppressors, because many times it is not convenient to his using his CPAP machine.

I love to look for and collect sea shells on the beaches.  When I tried to take some large conch shells back to the boat from the private island once on RCL, I was told it was not allowed to remove them from the beach.  Has anyone tried to take smaller shells that are found on the beaches? Is it allowed? I know it is not legal to take live shells, but I'm talking about the little, smaller shells that are usually found on beaches.

You can easily find helpful info in the threads just below yours…Research really opens doors!

But to steer you, CGB and Brewers are great for those looking for an easy self-excursion…just look at previous threads to compare! 😉

I'm not sure what you mean about the threads below mine.  I was asking for recent information, the threads I saw about beaches were pre-pandemic. Looking for recent info. Specifically, looking for beaches where we could rent a chair/lounge and an umbrella.  The only one place that was mentioned in the previous threads doesn't seem to be offering that any more.

One other question: Re: wifi: DH and I will both be bringing iPhones and iPads, if we get the wifi package for one for each of us, can we be on both devices (iPhone and iPad) at the same time? If we get the one for 4 devices, we can be on all four at the same time?

Celebrity is not stupid. They assume one person can only use one device at a time. Yiu can not have your entire party work off of one plan, but a plan for 4 devices will accommodate 4 users simultaneously.

I think I didn't ask the question the right way.  I signed up for the basic plan, for couples, 2 devices. I assume that means that we each can be on one device at a time.  But when I signed up, it asked for the name of the person, so I checked both of us, which ended up me buying two, 2 device plans, so we ended up with four devices, which we don't need. We only need 2 devices, one each. So I cancelled one, but now there's one in my name only.  But since it's for 2 devices, my husband can use his at the same time, right?

Always Included, The perks are Gratuities, Classic Beverage Package and Surf (classic) Internet package

Ah, Thank you.  We don't have that deal. I wish! We're on a themed cruise that we booked pre-covid, I think that package is just for regular Celebrity cruises that were booked more recently.

You can also ask for both extension cords and power strips.   Power strips with surge protectors are prohibited and will be held.    You may not need one as the post Revolution ships including Summit have 110 outlets in the lamp base next to the bed as well as 2 USB outlets

    I believe so

Are there lamps next to both sides of the bed? In the photos it looked like it was just on one side.

Sending iMessages works with Wi-Fi but not regular texts. Many use Facebook messenger or WhatsApp

According to the Celebrity website, with Basic wifi package it says you can't access social media. I don't know why since it says you can get on the internet, I wonder if it means you can't use the app for Facebook but can get on it with the url? Trying to figure out if we should get the premium package or the basic to keep in touch with our dog sitter and relatives.

  12. We are doing a theme cruise next week. We were on a waiting list for two years and last year, when a concierge class room came available we grabbed it up.  Of course it didn't sail last year and now it's going next week.  Since we booked it so long ago, I hadn't really given much thought to concierge class vs. "regular" class.  I understand that the suites get more amenities. But what does concierge class really get us? I see there is a lunch included on embarkation day, unfortunately I did not realize this when I picked our embarkation time, and we won't be getting on in time. I looked on the Celebrity website, and all it says is "Indoor and outdoor space come together to create your private sanctuary at sea. Relax on your spacious veranda and enjoy amenities that all contribute to your luxury experience. As a Concierge Class guest, your team of dedicated professionals will take care of all your vacation needs."   But what really is the advantage of concierge class?

  13. We will be on the Summit next week.  We would like to use the wifi mostly to read our emails, keep up with the news, facebook, and text each other and maybe friends not on the cruise.  We don't plan on streaming music or videos or movies.

Is the Basic wifi good enough for this? Or should we go with the Premium? There's such a big price difference I hate to get it if we don't need it.

  14. After several years of being on the wait list, and last year being cancelled, we are finally going on our first Flower Power cruise next week.  Anyone else going? Anyone who has gone have anything to report? Specifically curious about the themed nights, do most people dress up in the suggested themes?

  15. We will be in Tortola next week, we usually do Resort For A Day passes in most ports, but they don't have one in Tortola.  A google search revealed there was one place in Tortola that used to do that, but no longer.  We are looking for a place where we can go sit on the beach, on a lounge chair, under an umbrella or in the shade. We are willing of course to pay for the privilege of renting a chair and umbrella.

I see that there are a few beaches there, but we are not bringing chairs with us on the cruise, and we're too old to sit on the sand, lol, so bringing our own chairs to the beach isn't practical.

Any suggestions for us? I don't like doing the ship excursion (Celebrity Summit) because they only allow for like an 90 minutes-2 hours on the beach, and we prefer to spend more time than that. Also don't like to be restricted as to when to go and when to return.

  16. We have cruised mostly on RC, most recently on NCL, and are going on a charter cruise on Summit next week (March 28).  We haven't cruised since pre-covid and I think I have forgotten some of the things I used to know.  We have a few questions:

    1) I couldn't figure out how to do this in advance, but my husband needs distilled water for his cpap, and I just saw that we had to request it 30 days out.  Are we allowed to just bring a jug of it on board?

    2) What's the situation with extension (not power) cords and splitters? We had ours confiscated once on the Allure.

    3) Do they have Guinness on board?

    4) How to communicate on board within members of our group? If we get the wifi package, does texting work?

    5) Are there any forums for the charter cruises? Our group does not seem to have a forum anywhere outside of CC or FB, not on the roll call list.

I may have more questions as I think of them.  TIA.

Not interested in credit, the same cruise will not be at the same price so it will end up costing us more money next year. Want a full refund only.

    Maureen.

You won't get a full refund.  If you read carefully both their new cancellation terms and your booking contract, you will only get FCC for the amount of your cancellation fees.  So if you wait until after it drops to 50%, you will get 50% cash and 50% in FCC.  If you wait until they cancel, they will give you FCC.  That's how I read it, anyway.  Hopefully I'm wrong.

Got it. Our cruise is May 16th and we paid our balance on Feb 10th.

    Maureen.

Ours was May 28 and we paid our balance in Feb also, but check your booking document, ours said if we cancel by today April 1 we get everything back in cash except our cancellation fee which as of today was just $200.
