  1. I live near Orlando and going on Epic mid March. I was thinking of driving to Miami the day before our cruise so we are not tired from the drive starting our cruise. I am looking at hotels in the area and all seem to be around $200 and up a night. Do any of you know an area that might be cheaper north of Miami? I am okay being 30 miles or so from Miami. I really know nothing about south Florida. Thanks

  2. The SS office used it to change my name and I used it to get new D/L. After seeing this here I did some research and to be civil and legal a judge has to do ceremony in Spanish with four witnesses. I had all of that and the morning of our wedding we had to meet the officials from Cozumel on the ship when they boarded to clear the ship at port and they signed off on our paperwork. The only thing we did not have was blood test. I will bring in to my work to get a Spanish speaker to read over it.

  3. Only civil weddings in the courthouse are legal weddings in Mexico. Church and beach weddings are ceremonial only.

I have a marriage certificate from my beach wedding in Cozumel, I brought it to Social security office and they accepted it so I hope I am okay. This was in 2003, maybe I need to look at my certificate closely, but it is in Spanish so not sure that would help.

  4. We got married in Cozumel, on the morning of the wedding my brother went on a deep sea fishing excursion where he caught fish and spent the morning heavy drinking (nothing new there). After the wedding we got back on the ship and went to dinner in the MDR. My brother asked why the fish he had caught earlier was not being served to us. He continued to rant about it and wanted us to have his special fish for our wedding meal (yuck). He would not listen to us when we tried to explain about contamination and not being able to bring in outside food into the kitchen. It was horrible and I wanted to die of embarrassment. To this day I am not sure if he actually brought the fish back on the boat or tried to hand it off at the ship entrance, I can only imagine the thoughts running through the crew's mind that had to deal with that situation...

  5. Question....

Somewhere in the Princess threads it was mentioned that there is a car service that Princess recommends in the NY area. The name is Black Car or Black Limo or something similar.

I used dial 7 in New York in October and had a great experience. Each time you use them they give you a coupon for the next time. (212) 777-7777

  6. If you want to sign up for the ship tour sign up right when you get on the ship, it seems sometimes it is first people who sign up get it, while other times it is a lottery.

I also loved the tip that showed us how to get on top of the bridge at sail away. We sailed out of New York and going under the bridge there were only 3 people were I was and about 200 people behind me with their faces pressed to the glass. :p

Thanks for all the tips, I am adding to my list, no current cruise booked but I hope to do another soon, using my deposit I made on the last cruise of course.
