It is Friday, Sept 23, and we are in Durnstein, leaving for Vienna tomorrow. Gorgeous day! Levels are low, but we haven't heard any rumblings about the rest of our journey down to Budapest on Sunday. I took a picture of the shore, but can't figure out how to post it from my tablet.

We had a wonderful day in the beautiful town of Regensberg and are en route to Passau.

I am 4 hours out of Nuremberg on my way to Budapest on the Scenic Jasper and we have been told it will be smooth sailing all the way. It has rained every day (3 days in Prague prior) and finally have seen some sun.

We are onboard the Scenic Jasper in Nuremberg and have been told that there will be no problem cruising down to Regensburg and beyond.

Not Bucharest - Budapest!!

We are in Prague right now, due to get on a bus to Nuremberg Monday to board the Scenic Jasper bound for Bucharest. I will post when I hear what really happens. Our Scenic hosts here are telling us all they know and are keeping us updated.

That makes sense. Just want to get on the river boat and eventually get to the Danube 🙂

Our itinerary specifically says we are to be picked up at our hotel in Prague and transferred to the Nuremberg Pier.

Good question. We are on Scenic Crystal Sept. 19 from Nuremberg to Budapest. I am going to assume at this point that we will not be starting in Nuremberg - it seems to be a given at this point. And someone posted that their Viking cruise, going north, was unable to make it from Regensberg to Passau. So now I'm thinking we won't get on a ship until Regensberg unless there is more rain. Right now, according to Cruisemapper.com, the Amber is stuck in Passau. Friends of ours who did this trip with Scenic 5 years ago were bussed to Passau to pick up the ship.

I would also like to add my appreciation for the information that notamermaid has been providing. Knowing what the water levels are doing helps ease some of the anxiety - I don't like surprises when we are having such high expectations for our trip. We will be flying from the US to Prague Sept 15, then boarding a Scenic ship in Nuremberg on the 18th headed down to Budapest.
