I know this has been discussed often on the board. The Celebrity website states the NAAT covid test is accepted but does not state the RAPID NAAT test is. We would like to have the test done at Walgreens in a few days. Has anyone actually gotten the Rapid NAAT test and had it accepted for boarding? Thanks.

We have set dining on the Apex at 6 pm nightly. We have read here on CC that Normandie is the best one. If we are not assigned to that restaurant can we change once we board? Thanks!

So sorry for the ill passenger. Will your arrival be delayed? I board on Saturday, Aug 21. Thanks!

Ronsie, there was a problem on our 2015 Denali land tour. We took all of our own luggage from the land portion to the ship. People who used the HAL luggage transport did not get their bags for a few days.
I seem to remember that the luggage truck sat somewhere and the ship left without the bags. There were many unhappy folks. I am sure this is a rare problem.
Handling your own luggage can be a problem, but we were happy we had ours. We really enjoyed the trip!

I am 99 percent sure the Abbott Rapid ID Now covid test is acceptable. I would feel more confident if someone who had it can confirm there was no problem boarding on Saturday. Thanks.

Great! I will be boarding Saturday!

Thanks so much for your report! I look forward to following along.
When you boarded did you see or hear about any problems related to the pre cruise covid testing? Did there seem to be any issue with what kind of test passengers had gotten?
I hope everyone had an acceptable test and boarded without complication.

Look at the post about the Abbott rapid ID test! Hal now states testing is three days, not 72 hours before the cruise.
Now it is writing. I can test any time on Wednesday for Saturday departure! Yay!

Lisa, I have enjoyed your trip report and have a question. I am on the 8/21 cruise and will be taking the same excursions you took.
Were mosquitoes a big issue on any of them? I will have my repellent with me. I was bitten while visiting the lake during a Misty Fjord flight tour. It was so bad that I had to seek treatment from my dermatologist when I got home. I was treated with antibiotics and steroids.
I will have my repellent with me but wondered if you encountered many mosquitoes. Thanks

I will be following the Aug 14 roll call to see how boarding goes. Folks boarding today will probably be reporting which tests they had, etc.
-
Thanks! Hoping my testing goes well!

Good news on your results! Did you get the PCR test?

Look at the roll call for 08/14 sailing. Several people are talking about what they have done. Walgreens might be an option.. not sure if that is available in your area. Good luck!

Thanks so much, AK, Red Haired Lady and Ruth!
AK, I have looked at the video which was helpful. I also check the daily planner and think the only thing going on at the Ocean Bar is music trivia and happy hour.Ruth, I do think the dance floor is on the port side opposite of my cabin. Red Haired Lady, I agree with you that the trivia group will probably not be too noisy.
It seems like most of the louder music and dancing will be on deck two. Appreciate your help!

I am looking at stateroom 4109 on the NA. It is on the starboard side of deck four just above the far corner of the bar on deck three.
I have seen a comment on the facts about HAL ships that someone liked the nearby 4105, saying it was very private and had light even though it was fully obstructed.,
Will the noise from the bar be a problem? Is there music in the bar or is that all on deck two?
Thanks!

Thanks, Coffee! The Hal website still says 72 hours and not 3 days. Do you have any idea when it will be updated? Good luck to all!

Red Haired Girl, if you do get the Walgreens Rapid ID Now test would you please report after you board? I board on 8/21 and am specifically interested in that one. There seems to be some confusion about whether it is a pcr or antigen test. I have read the latest list HAL posted and think it is a pcr test.
I just want to be sure the ID Now meets the HAL requirement. Thanks so much.

Roz, here in Arkansas Walgreens is doing tests for free.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I am hoping the Walgreens near me will have appointments available. I do have a plan B if needed! Good luck!

Thanks so much, 12 cruise 2! I saw this info late last night after my post. I appreciate your posting everything.
it looks like the Walgreens ID Now test will be accepted.

Thanks, Boytjie, I have read this on the Walgreens website.I cannot tell how it compares to the NAAT tests in the HAL list of accepted types of tests.
