All of this discussion reminds me of a scene in "Downton Abbey" where the dowager duchess is bemoaning the informality of dinner jackets (aka Tux). Formal dress for dinner would have been tailcoat in her day.😄

We are also from UK and on your cruise. I also like to dress up a bit, maybe not ballroom level though. I would love my husband to go black tie but unfortunately he has put on too much weight for a DJ so it is smart casual for him.

My theory (for what it's worth) is that any card you enter in the app is designed to be used in only in person on board. When you try to use it online the system does not ask for the card verification code (cvc) and your bank( well my bank at least) will not authorise without it. At least in the UK- not sure what the law is in the USA for card not present authentication. I have managed to buy excursions etc using the website on the browser but not the app.

Interesting question, Cadiz is actually further west than much of the British isles, Portugal is only a few hours drive away from Cadiz and is on the same time zone as the UK. If you call into Portugal I would guess the clocks would change for that.
