  1. Has anyone tried to get giftcards on citieasydeals recently? I was able to in May but couldn't find them last night.

I bought $500 (5 was the limit) worth on Tuesday but now they are gone :(. I'm hoping they get more. I've bought several through Citi Easy Deals, it is super easy!

  2. The last time I booked on board I booked solo since I wasn't yet sure of which family member I would invite. Did this on the advice of the person at the future cruise desk.

A couple of months later added a cabin mate with no trouble, only extra cost was port fees/taxes, kept early saver status and kept obc for booking on board.

    Easy as pie.

This is my experience too. I've booked solo a few times and added a person later. The only thing we had to do was pay the port fees/taxes for the second person.

  3. Well, enjoying everyone's comments. I have the 2 & 3 day cruises booked out of Galveston next year in March & Dec. We are OLD people but plan on having a good time. Have not done one this short before but easy to get away for that period of time.

Age is just a number :). I'm 46 but when I showed my youngest daughter (21) pictures from the 3-day booze cruise, she said I looked like I was on Spring Break! It was a great time!

  4. I've done a few of the 4-day and thought they were pretty mild, almost boring :(. But in April I took my first 3-day to Ensenada and had the time of my life. I totally seen the difference between the weekday vs weekend cruises. There were many bachelor/bachelorette parties on board and it was never boring. I took this one hoping for a true "booze cruise" experience and I got it and loved every minute!

The only thing that really bothered me was that there was a LOT of little kids who were unattended because their parents were indulging in the "party". You seriously couldn't get in a hot tub on the Lido deck because it was full of little ones. I'm talking maybe 5-7 years old with no adult to be seen.

  5. I can see I'm a minority here as I do see the frustration with having a constantly crying child next door. I can't say it would ruin my cruise though.

Our kids are raised and have kids of their own now and we choose to travel without little ones. We spend most of our time in the adult only areas but we are not naïve and there are going to be children, some better behaved than others and some that may just have bad days. Sleeping someplace strange is hard for some babies/toddlers.

I would suggest in the future that you try to book a cabin that has 2 person cabins on both sides of you. While it won't eliminate the chance of kids being next door, it would reduce it.

Your vacation is what you make it and when you make GS miserable...well, karma!

  6. You may not realize it but many folks from outside the USA are afraid to come here because they read about all the guns and shootings that occur in our country!

Puerto Vallarta is the loveliest city port on the itinerary(IMO). Hopefully whatever took place will not continue or bother the many expats who live there with the locals and who have been there for years!

The expats from the USA and Canada remained in Mazatlan to when the cruise ships stopped coming and they were fine! I suppose that whenever you travel things can happen but as you see in the news things can happen here in the USA too!

We love PV and will be sailing on the Miracle again in September and looking forward to visiting your beautiful city!

  7. I posted this on JH's FB page, but wondering what you all think?

"So with the exciting announcement yesterday that Gold members will receive a drink coupon in place of the party, I have a question. In regards to the Cheers package and the casino Drinks On Us card, we've recently learned that the two packages are now connected and have a combined limit of 15 drinks per day (rendering the DOU card useless if you have Cheers). My question is will this "free" drink also count against the 15 drink limit? It shouldn't as we've paid for the Cheers package and this is supposed to be free, right? Just wondering :)."

For those of us who play in the casino, the combining of the packages is the loss of one benefit that we actually have to earn with play. However, everyone who buys Cheers and is Gold, if the "free" drink counts against your limit, you didn't gain anything.

  8. I seriously hope that person was led off at the next port, at least stripped of ability to drink alcohol for the rest of the cruise.

On an all inclusive many years ago, a drunk 20 year old threw a lighted tiki torch into a gorgeous pool. The fluids leaked all into the pool, and it had to be closed for draining, cleaning and refilled. The resort had the cops charge the customer with either mayhem, or destruction of property - I can't recall the specifics. He was returned to the U.S. I don't know if the resort also charged the customer's account with fees associated with destruction/clean up, but I would have agreed.

No she wasn't let off nor was her card flagged for no alcohol. She was obnoxious and rude the entire cruise and always in the Serenity area with her large group.

And honestly, she didn't bat an eye about the pool being closed because of her. We weren't happy cruisers that day :(.

  9. Can I use a verizon gift card to purchase cheers on board? The card won't get here in time for me to make final payment. :(

Yes, I've done that on my past 3 cruises. You have to take the certificates or cards to guest services to have them applied to your S&S account. Have fun!

  10. Thanks for taking the time to write your review. I love the Miracle and will be on her for the 3rd time in September. I'm excited about the Red Frog Pub and Alchemy Bar but more excited that the decking on Serenity has been replaced. And maybe I'm a "chairhog" that you speak of, we get up early and head to Serenity to get a seat that we tend to stay in all day and yes, sometimes that is a clamshell :). However, we don't "save" our spot, one of us is there at all times.

I love the pictures of your boys dressed up, they are very handsome and look super happy!

Thank you again, this is great!
