My TA has notified me that we must have negative Covid tests 4 days prior to our Sept 2021 Columbia river cruise.
Had my second Covid shot today. Wonder if still have to have the tests. Have heard various things if you've completed both shots. It's all a waiting game!
-
Will also be interested in replies since my first cruise with ACL has been cancelled so experience has been postponed!
-
Interesting and not a surprise. Have had first shot; have to schedule second. Only getting them because my TA said travel would be linked to it.

.We are keeping fingers, toes, whatever, crossed that this one sails as scheduled. Of course, we are also still awaiting confirmation of our vaccination schedule. 🙄
Surely your September trip will go! Certainly hope things open up by then! I'll be anxious to cruise with them in the future. Good luck on vaccine; had my first one!

Chengkp is an expert on this type of thing. Assuming his 250 is an accurate number(and I believe it is), here is where ACL stands. Largest passenger capacity Of any ACL ship is 190 and they have said they will be at 75% capacity during Covid, so maximum of 143 passengers. I found online a crew size of 52, so they will be under 200 bodies onboard. Even with full capacity all their ships are under 250.
Thanks for this. Thought I was right about it not having to worry re: number of people on board. Guess there were other reasons that weren't shared. Having never sailed with them, I'm disappointed but now won't have a chance to experience them until 2022. Will look forward to reports from those of you who sail with them in 2021.

I was also under that impression so thought would be safe scheduling ACL. No specific reason was given for March cruise being cancelled and it was one where day excursions were mostly outside (parks, wildlife refuge, etc) so not so dependent on places like museums or galleries.
Would have been helpful to know more details.

sorry about the cruises. I called to check on April 13 PUGET sound. Still on Kelly was very nice but limited info. She was also stating vouchers good for 2021. I think they may extend that otherwise they will go broke with refunds..
Glad your trip is still on and hope it happens! If there had been any hint of vouchers being good for 2022 trips, I'd have happily gone for that since have nothing scheduled then. They only offered for things this year and I have too many conflicts. 😞

Just called ACL and they said my April cruise on the Star is NOT cancelled, only some of the earlier cruises, like your March 5th. You should have your TA re-check.
Would have done that except have some other trips planned for April, June, September, November. April and November are driving so know will happen barring illness. June is an iffy one but that line already has money, etc. from the postponed 2020 trip. Ditto September. Can't risk booking something that would conflict with what's already on the books. Pretty sure I'm just going to be out of luck on the ones dependent on cruiseline after it all shakes out. 😬

Well, won't get to experience ACL Star this spring. 🙁 TA phoned this morning to say the March 5 sailing was cancelled but they were offering one on March 27 if wanted to change to that. Said, "Sure!" Three hours later he calls to say they decided not to do that itinerary again until November. Already have plans for summer and fall trips so that wouldn't work.
Their credit offers were only good for sailings in 2021 so was unable to take them up on anything except refund. Saddens me since really anxious to go somewhere and wanted to see how we liked ACL. Maybe in the future......

Haven't cruised with them yet -- scheduled for first one in spring. Guess I won't be able to see those Eagle Society Cruises. ;(

Update.. got moderna covid vaccine on Tuesday. Minimal injection site tenderness. Second dose scheduled for 2/2. Excited there is light at the end of this no cruising tunnel.
Glad you got it! No luck in getting into an appointment here yet but there's hope!

To all -- A much better, healthier and happier 2021 filled with fun travels!

ACL website is currently stating cruises to "resume in March." Looks like the first upcoming cruises would be Jazz & America first of March (New Orleans), quickly followed by Star (Jacksonville). So those are the ones I'll be keeping a close eye on to see if things really do developed as hoped.
Word from travel agent today says has documents from ACL; just holding for now in case there are updates. Kind of wishing now had scheduled later in March but we'll hope the first ones sail!

I just scheduled my covid vaccine for next week. So excited. It’s a step in right direction. Still don’t think my April cruise will happen. ( My co- travelers are 49 and 25 don’t think they can get vaccine by then although I’m surprised mine is so early) Will post after first dose with experience
Good luck with it. No word here on any timing, much less scheduling. Not that I'm in favor of getting something that was rolled out so quickly but if it's the only way travel is allowed, guess I'll get it.

Just bumping this since a 70+ thread would be appreciated by a lot of folks!

March - Florida Rivers is only one with ACL. I've never sailed with them and companion has never been on anything like this so new experience. Not holding breath but hopeful since all within US. They took final payment this week, not that that means anything!
-
Just remember NEVER to say the word "yes" when you have those spam calls!
-
Also wondering when we can travel again! Even my bus tours have been cancelled due to lack of numbers and concern about venues actually being open upon arrival. Although I'm not big on vaccines that aren't long-proven, will be taking these just because suspect it will be the only way travel allowed, especially out of the U.S. Can't afford to lose the money from trips paid for and already moved to 2021! I also will be trying to fit in two doses before an out of country one in June! Ones earlier are in US so hope those can happen without interference.
Miss the world of pre-Covid, as I'm sure the rest of the population does!

LOL Following this is going to make me depressed (but happy for you!!)

Pearl Seas
Likes. Staff very helpful. When Cuban government changed our dock time from 2.5 days to 3 hours, the company put us up at 1 of 2 Havana hotels approved by US- with only 3 days notice.
Thanks for the information. Get ads from them so was curious. Glad they were able to take care of you in Cuba!

Hopefully an ACL March trip will still happen. Trip around Iceland (not ACL) was slid to next June. Other 2021 trips are via roads.
What were likes/dislikes re: Pearl Seas?

I am going to find the better me. Last cruise I am ashamed to say I was one of biggest cruisers. My goal is to get to my weight when I was 50 (lose 75). Not sure if I will be able to do it by April 13 cruise but should be close. Short term goal is 5 lbs a month. By end of October should be at halfway point. I walk every morning have gone from slooow mile to moderate 2.5 miles. ***Don't forget to get your annual flu shot and save the receipt/ record — might need it for next cruise.
I didn't get a receipt this year! May have to go talk to Walgreen's.

Hi Dave,
Thank you for this information. Maybe I should just contact ACL to request the Eagle Society Cruise Brochure?
We, also, usually do our future cruise bookings whilst aboard one of their ships, just as we usually do with other cruise lines.
NRayH
Since yet to have first cruise with ACL had to look up to see what this is. Guess something to sign up for when eligible, just to see what's offered in future.

Think I'm rapidly joining that club but still hanging on to hopes for later this year.
