  1. I did the Sydney to San Francisco segment last year. There was a great variety of selections on the menu, just looked and it does not seam that the same menu was repeated, maybe some items but a wide variety. We had leaving Sydney kangaroo, boar sausage and crocodile brochette. We also had New Zealand dishes from there. I enjoyed the different menus, 28 days if they repeated the same every week would have been bad.

  2. It depends on where you work. Some places you get so much vacation time, so much sick pay and if you don't use it during the year you lose it. Or if you are like me we get so many hours per paycheck, which for me is every 2 weeks. You can use it for sick or vacation. Also you can accumulate it from year to year. My supervisor right now is on a 6 week vacation. I had last year March off and did a 28 day cruise Sydney to San Francisco.

  3. On my Med cruise a couple of years ago when I got to Athens there was a protest. The streets were closed where my hotel was. My taxi driver had to drop me off as close as he could. Then I had to walk to the hotel. As I am walking up a main street the protesters march down on the other side. I figure I would wait for them to pass as I had to cross the street. Then the marchers stop, Ok now what to do, well I just walked right through them. They were very nice to me moved out of the way and let me through. I had no problems. It was just a moment to talk about.

Just be careful and go with the flow

  4. I have done 2 segments. They have both been great. Dubai to England was great as a lot of history, Petra, Cairo, Athens and Rome. To many years of history to count. The last one Sydney to San Francisco was fun. A week in New Zealand Then across the Pacific and for me getting off at home. There is lots to do on sea days and it is nice to just relax. Go for it

  5. Pick up Rick Steve's Med. Cruise ports lots of info. A lot of ports are docked but some like Santorini are tender. Some ports are very close to the highlights but others are a good trip to get to. Love Europe, lots to see. Enjoy

  6. I have done a couple of segments. Very fun. Lots of sea days. There will be a area of one of the lounges block off for full world cruisers, but besides that and maybe a before dinner get together in the Queens room the ship is yours. Have done large tables in the mdr and there has been a mix of full world cruisers and segment dinners so lots of different stories. Enjoy

  7. If you do the whole world cruise there will be a area of the ship that you will be able to use, a lounge area. Also you will have special activities for world cruisers. On board the only places you will not be able to use are the Grill areas which are their dining areas and a deck area. But besides that the ship is yours to use. Have fun. I have done a couple of segments of the world cruise and enjoyed them and the people you will meet.

  8. I use a 2 wheel Victorinox werks traveler. The one with the T handle. It has been great for been using it for 10 years now, 4 cruises and a few other trips. It is well balanced on the wheels and the t handle rotates so it fits your hand perfect. It was great in Venice and walking a bit in Athens when the streets were closed and could not get the taxi to the hotel. Also have the garment bag which straps to the suitcase. Not the cheapest but you can find them on sale.
