I wish they'd sail there again. I'd prefer to sail with Princess but since they aren't doing the typical week there, we had to jump ship. We had a fantastic cruise on the Summit to Bermuda and would do it again.
When did you go and what was the weather like?
-
Actually, we've only sailed on smaller type ships and have been completely happy on them, but we will be trying the Regal in October.
-
Does anyone know why Princess quit sailing to Bermuda, are there any rumors that they may again include sailings there to their itinerary? If not Princess what cruise line would you choose?
Thanks,
Brad

If you're playing the slots you'll probably not need to worry about cashing out. I would say that they would pay by cash or check the amount that's in your casino account. Unfortunately, I've never found myself in that predicament!
Good Luck,
Brad

I'm not sure about the sampling but on one cruise I had a steak I barley touched from the Crown Grill and we got it Boxed up to go. we went to Wheelhouse Bar for some drinks, bartender asked what it was, I gave it to him and we were best friends for the rest of the cruise. He said their food did not compare to what we're served.

Honestly, I don't think it's for any of us to decide whether the OP's story is true or not. We aren't being injured by his claims. I think that several people have offered several pieces of clear, constructive advice. It's up to the OP to either follow or reject that advice. He has nothing to prove to US, because there's nothing we can really do about it. If he wants to vent, fine. If he wants advice, fine. But otherwise, this matter really needs to be sorted out between the OP, Princess, his bank, and possibly his attorney. People are wasting their time asking for "proof" or questioning whether it's really the OP pulling a fast one.
Young Lady, you are wise above your years, exactly what I was thinking!

The OBC that came from Princess is not enough to cover the cost of an excursion we want to book. If I purchase additional OBC, can that be applied to the excursion?
yes
-
There will be plenty of tables set up selling the beverage package when you embark. if you want to use OBC you'll have to do it once you board. Anything other than excursions that you place in your personalizer will need to be paid for at that time.

We love the Coral's sanctuary, very private and great wake views. I wish all the ships sanctuaries were located at the rear of the ship like Coral's. When we did the 10 day Panama in 2016 there was hardly anyone else there but that of course changes for each cruise. I would still head up there directly after boarding to assure your spot.

Tracie, I was referring to escape the room is that something to do with the Share restaurant?

Escape the Room (if they are still having it)
You may want to make a reservation at Share.
Can someone explain this, I'm not sure what it is.
Thanks

Haven't been on a Princess cruise in awhile. When do you book the Sanctuary and how much does it cost?
You book when you get onboard. I believe the cost is $40 a day, $20 for 1/2 days or $30 a day if you book for the entire cruise.

I assume that you are handling your baggage on the ferry. Have you seen my wife pack for a 7 day cruise ? Just kidding as I probably have more luggage than her regardless of the 10 pair of shoes she'll have packed(glad she don't read Cruise Critic!)
Thanks for the link I'll check it out, it's certainly a possibility.

We tip at the end.
Same here, at the end. We usually rent for the entire cruise, if I was renting on a day to day basis I might be inclined to tip daily though.

Thanks, that makes a little more sense. With the way they listed it I thought they sailed out of both and a determination would be made at a later date. We'll stay in Manhattan, I'm leaning towards a Hilton property since I have some Hilton points to use. We're leaning towards the Time Square area since we've never seen the Empire st. Building or been to Times SQ. but open to suggestions on other areas and attractions.

On the itinerary, it has Brooklyn/Manhattan which led me to believe it could be either, with a decision coming later as to which one. We definitely would like to spend some time in NYC since neither of us has been there before. We're flying into Laguardia, I'm looking at some hotels in Times Square area and trying to figure out how far away we would be to the Port.
Thanks for any and all suggestions,
Brad

We are currently booked on a 7 day, October 12, New England/Canada Cruise leaving out of Manhatten or Brooklyn. My question is when will you know for sure which port and for those that have cruised out of these ports which one do you prefer and why?
Thanks for your input

Why would anyone want to compare HAL and Princess? We've been on numerous cruises on both and there is no reason to compare apples to oranges. Both cruise lines have their advantages, in our experience.
Having cruised both Holland America and Princess, I think they are more similar than not. If pricing and itinerary are favorable I would certainly cruise with Holland again. For those that are cruising Holland for the 1st time the lobster bisque in the Pinnacle Grill is excellent, made right at your table.

I personally couldn't care less to any of the above, but to each, their own. I'm just happy to be sailing!

I didn't use mine on the ship but called and purchased some OBC for our upcoming trip. You're right it's a win-win.

I would never book a cruise before a dry dock.
I agree. I probably wouldn't book one coming right out of dry dock also.

Yes, I believe most have some beginners lessons, I would also encourage you to do some research on the internet on the games your interested in learning. You can also download an app for some practice.
Good Luck!

Yes, we do! Although we never have done that many in a row. Were you able to book it under any special promotion?

I just found that also. I did as Pam suggested and checked out HAL's website and was disappointed that they no longer have sailings there. I also did a search for ships that docked a Hamilton and came up empty. The last time I was there it was on a HAL's Noordam, I believe. Hamilton was a great port to dock at but we were there for only the day. I've always wanted to go back and spend more time there.
