  1. Princess has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

While what they offer may be fair, the reduction is a freakin' PR faux pas.

I'm on the CB, last night I was astounded by a generous offer in reply to what was totally beyond their control.

Today I'm given one hour to decide between 125% or 50%. Since I flew into Houston

I would have to get an hotel room and pay a$400 airline change fee.

This gives me a bad taste. At least the ship will be less crowded.

What's the difference in today or yesterday, either way you would have to get a hotel and change your flights. If they would have given you 50% yesterday would you have gotten off? Princess is not the one that wrecked into the barge and made the oil spill. They have no control over when the port will open and I'm sure they are getting very limited information. Did you buy insurance? If so, you would be able to get your money back if not shame on you.

  2. If you are going on the Royal Princess they do not have milkshakes. My husband always purchases the Unlimited soda & more package for the milk shakes and when he went to order on one the Royal they told him they did not have milkshakes. He went to passenger services deck and they refunded him the difference between the ultimate card and the regular soda card.

  3. Are there any beach umbrellas at the Bungalows? If not can lounge chairs be moved to a shady spot? Are there any shady spots?

Also is there a picnic basket from the barbeque area to bring the food to the Bungalow? Does a waiter service the Bungalows? Thanks, Anita

We rented a Sanctuary Bungalow in November at Princess Cays. There is one umbrella and four lounge chairs outside the front of the Bungalow (two chairs on each side of the walkway to the door). The umbrella is placed between two of the chairs. Some of the Bungalows did have trees in front of them for additional shade. There is not picnic basket to bring food back, you just carry your plates. There are waiters that will get you drinks only.

  4. Sounds like you had a great time, and thanks for passing along some useful tips that worked well! That is great news about room service/ordering hot items. Do you happen to know if oatmeal would be available if you wrote it on your door hanger?

I hope adjusting back to the real world goes smoothly for you - isn't that always the hardest part after a wonderful vacation?

We have ordered hot breakfast from room service on the Emerald, Caribbean, Star & Crown. The food was always hot and included fried eggs, omelets, oatmeal & toast.

  5. Well said we are all different

Thank you all who have posted on the "Live from" good bad and indifferent. Some comments have made me go oooooh as we are staying in B736  the sooty balcony. We haven't changed based on posts, but thankfully we will now be prepared, so if one morning we walk go out and DH suddenly becomes Dick Van Dyke and starts singing Chim Chim Cher-ee and I turn into Mary Poppins - it will be entertaining for those around us

Take care of our cabin, we will be in it on the cruise after you.
