  1. I know this has been posted before, but curious if anyone has a sense for what the per person cost would be to venture over to St.John without a ship excursion. NCL is offering 4 different St. John excursions and I am curious as to the price difference of just taking the ferry over on our own.

    1. St. John Island Tour for $69pp - does not include beach stop

    2. St. John Beach Escape and Snorkel at Trunk Bay for $79pp

    3. St. John Eco Hike and Honeymoon Beach for $79pp

    4. St. John Champagne Catamaran for $89pp (is this at Trunk Bay? I know this includes some adult beverages and snacks)

I recognize that doing it on our way would obviously not include any food/drinks but I don't think any of the 4 above do either. Thanks for any insights/opinions on this.

  2. Hi Everyone,

I know this topic has come up before but I couldn't find any recent answers regarding the St. Thomas JetSki Tour offered through Island Marketing. Does anyone have any recent experience with this excursion?

If so, was it worth it (had heard that sometimes they try and forgo the snorkeling portion) and since it's only 90min - what did you do after/before this tour? I'm sure there would be time to do the Skyride or go check out a beach for the rest of the day (e.g. Sapphire or Lindquist)

    Thanks!

  3. Thank you, Blue Water...

I have heard that you can also get an island tour w/beach break right off the pier. Any idea what a ~ 1hour tour with a beach stop would run per person?

  4. For $16-$20pp to do a safari taxi ride to one of the 2 beaches, it seems like a much better deal than going through NCL for the escape to jost van dyke at $99pp...is Jost Van Dyke that much better/different?

  5. I am considering booking this excursion through NCL (I promised I would never book through the cruise line - but oh well) and had some questions.

    1. Does the boat just stay "anchored" as you spend the day on the beach?

    2. Is it literally just a beach day - are there chairs/umbrellas/etc. to rent?

    3. Or is it mainly people just hanging out at the Soggy Dollar?

    4. Does the $99pp charge include anything other than the boat ride to/from Jost Van Dyke?

    5. Is this any different than going to one of the popular beaches on the main Island? I know there are safari taxi's that will take you there for like $16pp, compared to the $99pp for this...

    Thanks!

  6. Thinking about doing Bernard's Tour #2. With regards to the stop at Orient Beach, I assume that once you're at the beach you are on your own with respect to finding a bar/spot to go to (e.g. Le String)?

In other words, if you wanted to get a beach chair/umbrella and food/drinks, it would be extra than the $40pp charged by Bernard's. A few years back, Le String was offering a chair and two drinks for something like $10 bucks.

At the end of the day, the $40pp pays for a narrated tour of the island with these stops and anything you buy at the stop is a la carte/separate. Thanks!

  7. Hi,

I am very seriously considering applying for the NCL MC, with the 10,000 bonus points. I just spoke to an agent at BOA and she informed me, that the 10,000 bonus point will be applied to my acount if I make a $50 purchase with my card within 45 days. That's no big deal at all.

Let's say I book a cruise for June 2011 (looking at the Boston-Bermuda on the Dawn) and I want to utilize the 10,000 points. The BOA agent told me that I have to book my cruise through WorldPoints, is this true? I prefer to book directly through NCL. If this is not true, who do I call to get my points applied?

Also, I am a bit confused by some previous posts. A few people mentioned that instead of using the points for OBC, use them for cash back, which can be used to pay off the card itself. How does this work?

    Thanks,
