Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Make sure you have all your embarkation paperwork filled out and your COVID test sorted and to hand when you reach port to get on. Once that is cleared your passport is exchanged for your key and card and after that all is simple! Your luggage will be taken to your room for you so don't out your paperwork in there.
  2. Lucky you, was just talking to one of the tender guys and we agreed Venice - Athens simply the best route!
  3. We are back on star clipper this week, and I guess what I would say is it will be possible to do your private cruises, but the star clipper ones have been super. Of course I realise you might be looking for something different. For me I appreciate the convenience and peace of mind, no worries getting back to the ship. No hard selling at aunties gift shop and itinaries that move along at a good.pace. I think you have cruise director Peter on flyer and he gives superb port talks, lots of info and history. After the pandemic break it has been an absolute pleasure to return to the clipper and already looking to book again!
  4. Heh Don if you're on facebook you might want to look at the group "friends of star flyer, star clipper, royal clipper" as that has a bit of activity. Also lots of recent pics . Ephesus is just amazing! Enjoy. We are on our 5th Star clipper cruise next week to Sicily and ready to get back to that relaxed and unique cruise experience asap!
  5. Just be prepared for the social aspect, which I'm hoping hasn't been too detrimentally affected by the COVID protocols. We switch between a large ship such as a royal Caribbean and a star clipper and they are just absolutely different worlds. Make sure you're on deck for sail away it's priceless.
  6. Yep star clipper Ephesus tour was an absolute highlight for us. Air conditioned transport is a must!
  7. Hi! We've done the stop at Dalyan and took the star clipper boat trip which was actually lovely . In general the tours will smaller groups anyway as of course there are less people to start with. I don't think I've ever been disappointed by a star clipper tour. Be prepared for the tenders! Taken good shoes, not your fancy shoes and rucksack or bag you have free hands with is great. You wil never be hungry I'm sure. In the event you wer late for dinner there are always the late night snacks! Regarding ports in general the cruise director and other staff are usually excellent at giving you tips for self exploration. I think on Patmos we followed some directions from the director for walking up to the monastery for example. Sorry not to have seen your post earlier. We are going on our 4th star clipper cruise in a fortnight. Try to relax and enjoy the ship and scenery and don't worry too much about planning. You are going to such wonderful destinations you will enjoy I'm sure!
