  1. I am going on a cruise on the Allure in April with my parents, wife and 2 boys (3.5 and 10 months). When we booked the rooms we weren't really thinking about sleeping arrangements as well as we should have. We have connecting balcony rooms with my room being a quad and his being a standard room. After discussing things with my father he said my 3.5 year old is more than welcome to sleep in his room and we can have the 10 month old. When discussing after the rooms were booked (me through a travel agent and him through RC casino) we thought it would be best if my dad takes the room with the pull out couch and we take his room because we will have the pack and play. Here is the question:

After talking with RC my dad found out that we can get room keys to each others rooms that do not involve charge accounts. Should we

    A) Switch rooms on our own after boarding and use the non charging room keys to get in to the rooms or

    B) At the pier see if they will switch our rooms and all of our OBC.

Which one would have the least amount of chance for things to get screwed up?

    Thanks

  2. Just got off the phone with captains club----they would not give me any discounts, they told me that is 45 in M if you book ahead and 50 on board 36 in tuscan and 45 on board Dont remember those prices being different on board!

Wait until you are onboard. Then just ask for them

  3. Does anyone know if I put 2 cards out at night for two different times will the send both orders at the requested times? My wife is an early riser and I am not and I am tired of waking up to cold eggs and tea.

    Thanks,

    Scott

  4. Please ignore those who are telling you that you shouldn't bring your kids on celebrity. They seem to forget that they are not the only ones who like to take vacations and other passengers are just as important as they are. Most of them do not speak from personal experience (bringing their own kids). I think there is now of a problem with drunk obnoxious adults than misbehaving kids. I go back to what I said earlier would you sit in a restaurant while your child misbehaves or would you take them outside.

  5. Look on YouTube...

Do not look on YouTube. The videos are out of date and are about 2 months old. Conditions are not the same as what is portrayed in the video.

  6. Don't forget that you can check out toys from them also. You just have to be realistic about your expectations. Would you expect your child to sit through a long sit down dinner at home. If not don't expect to have them do it on the ship. We comment to celebrity that the time that they allow non 3 year olds to be in the room was short and not at the greatest hours. All in all I would definitely take my now 2.5 y/o back on celebrity. If you start them young maybe by the time they are in their 20's they will be elites.

  7. My wife and I would like to get off the ship and head over to sarafinas to pick up some food to eat on the beach then head back to do some shopping. So does anyone have an idea how much it would cost to get to sarafinas, then to Pedro's or club orient then back into town for some shopping then back to the ship? Will there be taxis that will be willing to do this or should I take the local bus to Marigot then catch a taxi to club orient?

    Thanks,

    Scott

  8. Looked it up, here is the fine print from the 20% discount flyer:

    * A 20% discount (off of the restaurant cover charge only) will be given to all guests who choose to dine in any of our specialty restaurants, with the exception of Bistro on Five and The Porch, on the first night of the cruise. Discount will be applied onboard for all reservations made both pre-cruise and onboard, and credited to the guest’s SeaPass account. Any guests booked on a reservation prior to December 1, 2011 will still be given the 20% discount on their cover charge for all sail dates after December 1, 2011. The 20% discount does not apply to any beverage purchases in the specialty restaurant. © 2011 Celebrity Cruises

And... Not really seeing your point here. I don't see any problems with this.

  9. Yes, you can. We did not cook ours. As far as I am concerned this is the best restaurant on the Celebrity fleet. Some advice, go light on the flat bread. We turned ours into a pizza, then came the salad, then the filet (best ever), with lobster mac n cheese, then the melting chocolate cookie. We were beyond stuffed. It was so good we went back a second time, went light on the flat bread and ordered a seafood Kabob along with our steaks. Oh yum.. What wouldn't I give to have it right in front of me now!

I agree with his 100 percent. Lawn club has to be hands down the best specialty restaurant that Celebrity has to offer. You can't beat the food and the atmosphere. They will do all the cooking for you but if you do chose to cook they make it so much fun. My wife loved it!ImageUploadedByForums1420336903.678714.jpg.c44a254cf116b16b091b6d721b83c4c1.jpg

  10. When I went with them in March I only had to put a small deposit down and then I paid the rest at the pier. The deposit is so that they have your reservation and you aren't considered a walk up. On a side note this was one of the best tours I ever have taken on any cruise. If you can email Bernard and request DJ as your guide and then remind him at the pier.

  11. I just spent 45 minutes speaking and on hold with a courteous Celebrity rep. Amazingly he had never heard of Cruise Critic!

I walked him to and through it.

Bottom line is that after consultation with his support team he said the problem was the linkage between Celebrity and Cruise Critic and that they were working on it. I suggested that given how long it has taken they enlist a 12 year old to help.

I further told them that I was most upset that they have not responded to the emails at the address their representatives provided connections@celebritycruises.com

He said they were swamped at that address and couldn't answer quickly, but if I sent yet another right now I would get a response because they would be "looking for mine"LOL

Finally ,I told him of the irony of listening to how Celebrity anticipates your smallest needs even before you ask on their recorded loop while I was on hold.

I'll post again when and if I get a response.

I'm glad I didn't hold my breath. Don't ask me to email you (celebrity) and not even have the courtesy to respond. @celebritycruises tweeted back "thanks! We are aware of the problem". It would also be nice of somebody from Cruise Critic to explain what they are doing on their end and if they know what the problem is. While this isn't the biggest problem in the world by far, it does go to show the lack of customer service lately.

  12. You're welcome!

Oh and music was cool. We had one of the ship's pianists. After looking him up afterwards we found out that he's actually really well known.

It was all really nice. Every night someone was sending us a bottle of bubbly to congratulate us and we came back after dinner to our room all decorated.

We didn't know the significance of the fish but we named him Al

One less fish in the sea?

  13. I am having the same issue with my 1/24/15 Reflection sailing. Help from Celebrity has been non existent. Different answer every time I call. I love cruising with Celebrity but I am so tired of the canned response of we are aware of the issue and working on it. They have been aware that their website stinks for years and have never fixed it. Ok rant over.
