After final payment, one should not expect OBC or price reductions. Once in a while one might get a token OBC after final payment, but one should not expect it. NCL is pretty good about allowing upgrades. Perhaps the price of an MX guarantee cabin dropped, the TA got you that as an upgrade and you were then assigned a mini suite on deck 9. Enjoy the extra space.

I kind of want to do the same thing but I am traveling with others and want assigned cabins. NCL is playing games with the mini-suite categories by designating a MB and sometimes a MA as a guarantee as well. It is my guess that they are not filling the family mini's because of the time of year and will ultimately be putting guarantees's in those. I would like to be in an assigned mid-ship mini, but I may not get the opportunity.

Just got upgraded and was wandering if this has a larger balcony. Any info is greatly appreciated!

It will book up quickly on your cruise, because it is one where the UDP was being given away for free. Reports have been coming in of people having difficult getting reservations in the speciality restaurants on the Breakaway and Getaway since these sailings started. I'd book it (and anything else you may want) before boarding, and sort out the charges when onboard.

Only if they allow all of the tables in the MDRs to be reserved, which isn't going to be the case. The majority of tables will still be available for people walking up. The fact that some people will be reserving times may make it easier for staff planning, which could benefit everyone.

And I say again. If you can walk up an get a table, you don't need a reservation! Therefore reservations a pointless.

I think this might help eliminate some of the long waits, even for those without reservations. It might help spread out the crowd a bit.

You clearly meant to say "except for those without reservations." Because if all reservations are taken, you would have to wait until the next available reservation time. Who knows how long that might be.

Come on NCL let's just leave it the way it was. Free Style means Free Style!

I was being sarcastic folks. Freestyle to me means that i can eat when I want where ever i want. This would no longer be the case if the if the MDR's are fully booked with reservations. If you then argue that they would only allow a limited number of reservations freeing up tables for freestyle dining, then there is obviously no need for a reservation.

What a great idea. But i think it would be better if they would just establish maybe two different eating times, say 6:00 and 8:30. Then you would have established reservations every night without the trouble of having to deal with this daily.

Exactly. You can select any of the cabins offered at the time of booking. A far cry from being able to select your own cabin.

Thinking of booking an 8th floor balcony located over the Theatre on the NCL Getaway. Does anyone have experience with these rooms concerning possible noise?

On the ncl Getaway is the size of the balcony any bigger on a mid-ship mini-suite vs. a mid ship balcony. Appreciate the help!
