Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. As of now (4:35 pm ET, Monday 22 Jan) the old WiFi rates are still available👍
  2. Just as an aside, more bad news for travellers. Anyone travelling to India soon? As India has suspended visa applications in Canada due to the recent inter-country developments...🤔 India halts visa services, Canada adjusts diplomatic presence as spat escalates (msn.com)
  3. ☝️ One another peculiar thing is, you would enter your passport ID in capitals, but the process changes all capital letters (eg AB123456) to lower case letters (ab123456). Do not be alarmed by this, your eVisa will also be printed with the lower case letters (ab123456) but that seems to be perfectly acceptable.
  4. Hello, you are in the right direction. Most/ all of Oceania's info should be found on their website/ correspondence/ confirmation/ docs sent to you. If not, google "Oceania cruises address" or similarly, and you should see all the required info. I got Oceania's info below, but you should confirm: Host type: Tourism company Host name: Oceania Cruises Host phone number: +18555680187 Host fax number: **Leave this blank** Host email: guestrelations@oceaniacruises.com Host address: 7665 Corporate Center Drive Miami Florida Who is paying travel ... : By the applicant himself/herself
  5. Just want to point out that, to avoid difficulties in your eVisa application, enter all addresses with just single space separating the words and not commas. Also postal codes not allowed. For Host I used the Cruise Line name, address, email, ph #, etc. Also your passport image to be uploaded should be labelled with numbers and not words i.e. 1.jpg and not word.jpg. Note that single entry cost is US$25 and valid for 90 days, whereas multiple entry is US$60 and good for 180 days. You pay a little bit more, but I opted for the multiple entry visa to take advantage of the extended validity and avoid hassles with any new visa application as there might be a chance of returning to Egypt early in the new year. Current turn around is very fast. We received email payment confirmation the next day after submission, and our eVisas later the same day. However this could change with the large numbers of visa applications expected in the next few days. I would not wait until the last moment to submit your application as you might run into difficulties, network problems, the site down for maintenance, etc (Murphy's Law).
  6. Try clicking on the NEXT button at the bottom right of the screen ...
  7. It's a convoluted process, not really straight forward. From what I remember: When you log back in, click on "DOWNLOAD DRAFT APPLICATION" and view your saved application, it is a pdf. Review it very carefully to ensure that all your details are correct. If changes are needed, click on EDIT. If everything is good, click on the CONFIRM button. Do not click on the "SAVE/UPDATE APPLICANT" as that resets everything. Instead click on the NEXT button, which takes you to the PAY screen. Note that you might have to click on the + near the application reference number to open up the fields. You don't have to do everything at once, you can always log out and log back in anytime, to continue. Hope that helps.
  8. THANKS Laura! That, and the article, is indeed good news. I am more hopeful now, but still keeping my fingers crossed 🤔
  9. SparklyPinkCruiser said: "And, as I mentioned, they told me I no longer need the visa and mailed it back to me!" Hi Laura, Is this so, as I can't find your post where this was mentioned before? And they mailed your passport back without the visa, and refunded you the money?
  10. Hi Martina2662, we are on the MSC Splendida leaving Trieste (Italy), calling at Alexandria (Egypt) on Day 6 (1-day stop), then sailing through the Suez Canal, calling at Safaga (Egypt) on Day 9 (1-day stop), then continuing our journey to Aqaba (Jordan) and eventually ending at Durban (South Africa).
  11. Seems every Cruiseline has a different answer. MSC operates a number of cruises in the Mediterranean that calls on Egypt. I asked MSC about MSC obtaining Transit visas for Canadians on their up-coming cruises, this is MSC Canada Manager reply: September 7th, 2023 Dear xxxxx, We want to bring to your attention an important update regarding entry requirements for Canadian passport holders traveling to Egypt. As of September 3rd, 2023, it is no longer possible to obtain a visa upon arrival in Egypt. Instead, it is mandatory for Canadian passport holders to obtain their visas from an Egyptian embassy or consulate in Canada before their arrival. Please ensure that you take the necessary steps to secure your Egyptian visa well in advance to avoid any inconvenience during your journey. Should you have any questions or require further assistance regarding this matter or your upcoming cruise, please do not hesitate to reach out to our dedicated team at reservations@msccruises.ca We appreciate your understanding and look forward to providing you with a memorable and enjoyable cruise experience. Best regards MSC Cruises Canada LTD. Ian Patterson Country Manager MSC Cruises Canada Ltd 2810 Matheson Blvd East Suite 101A Mississauga, Ontario L4W 4X7
  12. French to English Translation for above: hello, I have a friend who arrives from the Consulate in Montreal and the daughter to the Consulant not yet aware for cruises .... no info ... so well done to apply for a Visa
  13. Thank you for posting. I'm glad to see that we are all sharing info and helping one another ...
  14. Thank you so much for reporting back Laura. 300 cash? Do they accept credit cards? And the address is 454 Laurier Ave, and not 150 Metcalfe Ave, which is the Embassy address I see on the websites?
