  1. My apologies if this has been discussed (I tried a search but did not find the info) but I am looking for an update on the Royal Beach Club in Nassau (Paradise Point). The last I heard was "opening in 2025" but no specifics. I can't find any updates anywhere and watching the live webcams in Nassau I do not see any type of construction activity yet. Does anyone have an update or specifics?

  2. Why does Royal Caribbean and Celebrity use Crown Bay instead of Havensight? It seems like they choose to use CB as their first choice but when I look at maps it seems like cruiselines would always prefer Havensight for its proximity to walkable activities, etc. Even on days when Havensight is not full I see RC and Celeb ships at Crown Bay. Curious if anyone actually knows the reason.

  3. Lynn and I are very excited... We are taking our first cruise as "Diamond" members in January. This is also the first time we have 3 upcoming cruises on the books simultaneously! It is going to be our first time on Odyssey of the Seas and Brilliance of the Seas (we are steadily working our way through the fleet!). The Brilliance of the Seas cruise is for our 25th anniversary and will be our first time through Panama Canal and we are visiting 4 new ports for the first time! It is also our longest cruise yet (2 weeks). Life is wonderful!

  4. I read the double point promotion applies to sailings through Sept 30... Does the double point promotion cover the entire cruise if it departs September 30? Do you get double points for all the days of the cruise even though the cruise only has 1 day in September? I don't want to lose out because of a technicality!

  5. I'll take a cruise ship any day! I have always had a fear of flying (even though I have flown many times). I also have a fear of my wife but that is another story! 😉 I know the arguments on both sides but in my brain I can rationalize a ship sinking (hopefully slowly) giving me time to at least attempt to save myself versus a plane falling from 30.000 feet in the air.

  6. We go by both... Although we have only been on 5 cruises so far we have been fortunate to be able to sample a different ship as well as different ports each time with no repeats so far. My wife and I are very different... I go by the ships and she goes by the itinerary. (If I ad my way I would never get off the ship!) We are now booked for our first Oasis class experience... can't wait!!!

  7. Yes, you read correctly... we are bringing five 18year old girls on Oasis of the Seas for a graduation gift (only 2 are ours). And YES... before you ask... I am definately getting the unlimited alcohol package for myself!!! Seriously though... I would like to know what type of power converter(s) I need to get so I can use the non-U.S. outlets in the cabin. Also, does anyone have advice on a usb power hub that can charge multiple iphones at the same time that is allowed on cruise ships? I appreciate any help you can provide and will also gladly accept prayers on my behalf!!!

That works out perfectly.  With that large of a group and the expenditures you are making, you may want to look into getting as A1 or A2 Aquatheater suite.  The First and Second passenger is very high but if you add the other passengers at the 3/4 rate it becomes a little cheaper.

I thought about that but I like to sit on my balcony and only hear the ocean. I am concerned about the noise from the rockwall, aquatheater, boardwalk, etc.

This is a good list, but keep in mind there are numerous spending opportunities on Oasis class ships.  They have shopping, a candy store, popcorn and cotton candy for sale during movies and shows etc.  They may want to purchase photos as well.  It would be up to the individual parents on how much they will allow for extras while on board.  Also at 18 they are allowed in the casino.

Are you the only adult going, if so they only allow age people to book so you would have to have an adjoining room to book your children in.  I would contact a travel agent to make sure everything is done properly.

My wife and I will be the 2 adults. We have known the 3 friends since our girls were little and they are like extended family to us.  They know it is not going to be a free-for-all and they know better than to not follow my instructions.

I'd suggest using a TA for this as you will have logistics regarding cabin locations and having an adult either in the cabin or nearby (you need to have at least one person, 21 or over, in the cabin or "across the hall", or next door)

We are using a travel agent but I trust the people on this site for the best information! We will be getting 2 adjoining junior suites and listing 1 adult (over 21... wayyyyy over) in each.

What year are you booking?  If '21, that cruise is not likely to take place as per today's announcement RCCL is not returning to cruising for US based itineraries until May 1, and then only with limited ships and short itineraries.  A 7-day cruise would not be likely until the second half of the year.

We are looking at July 2022 so hopefully we will be safe by then!

  12. OMG... I have committed myself to taking 5 teenage girls on a 7 day Bahamas cruise on Oasis of the Seas as a graduation present (2 are mine and they asked to bring 3 of their friends). All the girls will be 18.  Just starting to work out the financials to give the parents of the other 3 girls but I don't have current pricing. I realize prices are changing constantly but if people could share what they think the "normal" price is I would appreciate it. I need pricesd for:

    1. gratuities

    2. non-alcoholic drink package that includes specialty coffees and teas

    3. Voom (streaming?)

    4. admission ticket to the water park at coco cay

    5. Any other required costs they may encounter

Thank you again for any information you can provide.
