  1. The shore excursions for Labadee show a Dragon's Tail Coaster "Single Ride" for for $26 but they also list another as Dragon's Tail Coaster "All Day Access" for $35. The single ride option forces me to pick a specific time for my reservation. The All Day Access has only 1 time slot listed as 10am no other options. So my questions is...

Does the all day access give you...

    A. Just one ride but at the time of your choice

    B. As many rides as you want whenever you want

    C. Just one ride at 10am

    D. Some other choice I haven't even thought of

Thank you for any information you can provide.

  2. What was the price of it and the price of the Dragons breath?

The price was $139. The picture shows you strapped in horizontally facing down as if you were flying like "superman"! Dragon's Breath is listed as $105

    OVERVIEW

Take a thrilling leap into sky-high adventure as you race head-first on a tandem zip line course that shoots you along 2,800 feet of cables dangling above the forested mountains and tropical seascapes of Labadee. Atop a launch tower in the middle of the forest you’ll meet expert trainers who will deliver a safety briefing before gearing you up with a helmet and cable harness. Then feel the adrenaline rush of flying head-first, like a soaring superhero, through a tunnel of tall trees along a zip line that opens up over craggy cliffs plunging to the bright-blue ocean below. This unforgettable flight whizzes you over Labadee’s powdery sands, crystalline seas, and coral reefs — all before touching down safely on an elevated landing deck. ZLE8

    HIGHLIGHTS

    • Ziplining: Amp up the adrenaline while flying across a tandem zip line course spanning some 2,800 feet of suspended cables.
    • Birds-eye view: Fly belly-down through the treetops, zooming over steep cliff faces and soaring beyond the beach.
    • Labadee: This private isle’s green forests, white-sand shorelines and turquoise waters deliver an epic backdrop for your exhilarating flight.

  3. I realize there are many threads on this but since the question keeps getting asked I figured I would tell of my experience.

I tried online to get a deluxe beverage package for myself and the refreshment package for my wife and kids. Nope... wasn't happening. The online system wants all adults in a cabin to have the same package.

So then I simply called Royal Caribbean on the phone and told the representative what I wanted. He could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Instantly gave me my deluxe beverage package and the wife and kids the refreshment package with no questions asked.

I guess my only question is that if they are going to allow the ordering of separate types of drink packages when we call their reps then why don't they just allow us to do it online also? It seems to me it would just make their lives easier at the phone centers. I just really dislike talking on the phone... it is a personal hangup! (yes, I know... bad pun!)

Anyway, another positive experience with Royal Caribbean!

  4. Hi all,

I am assuming that I can use my deluxe drink package during my meals in the dining room on Anthem but I have also read that it is harder to get the wait staff to get you drinks in a timely manner because they are doing double duty as bar servers and regular wait staff.

If this is true... is it actually easier to just walk out of the dining room to the nearest bar location and get my own drink as necessary?

It really would not bother me to do this and may make it easier on the wait staff who I know are worked very hard already.

Is there a bar on Anthem close to the traditional dining rooms... The Grande or Chic?

  5. Then I would not buy anything until you are onboard.

There has been a bug reported on Anthem and other ships that still use the Royal IQ app. Apple's iMessage has been working without buying VOOM or paying the $8 for Royal IQ app texting.

Now, if the kids will spontaneously combust without Facebook, Twitter, etc., then you will have to purchase VOOM for them.

As far as the adult phones, before you buy anything, connect to the Royal WiFi wireless service (but don't sign up for VOOM) and test if the free iMessage hole is still working.

    Bob,

Thank you so much ! As always you are a font of great knowledge and advice! I will get the 2 person Voom for the kids (yes, i am concerned they may spontaneously combust!!!) but I will wait until I am onboard for the rest.

Thank you to everyone else who replied also.

  6. You can only pay for Royal IQ once onboard.

You still need VOOM for anything other than texting others on the same cruise with the Royal IQ App.

Unless you also get VOOM for the adult phones, then you will also have to pay the $8/device for the kids to text you using the Royal IQ app.

There's another option, but it only works if you all have iPhones. Do you?

Yes, we are all on iphones.

  7. On Anthem, you can still use the Royal IQ app for texting for $8 per device for the entire cruise. Download at home and once onboard you can pay the extra for texting.

Just to clarify... I can only pay the $8 per device after I board... can't prepay... right?

Also, do I need the Voom package (only for the 2 of them) for the kids to be able to get their "internet stuff"

If I get the kids the Voom package do I still need to pay the extra $16 on the Royal IQ app for them to text us or is their texting included in the Voom price (so I would only need to pay for the wife and myself)?

Sorry to be such a pest... I just do not want to throw money away and I think I am getting too old to understand all of this techy stuff!

  8. We are a family of 4 sailing on Anthem of the Seas. 2 adults and to 14 year old kids. We all would like to be able to text to each other while we are on the ship but my wife and I do not think the 2 of us need streaming and internet.

If I get the 2 person Voom and Streaming Package for the kids only, can we all still text each other without charges?

We really want to remain in communication with the kids throught the ship as this is the first time they have a little freedom to roam the ship as "teens" without being in a supervised kids club and texting seems to be the easiest way but I also want them to have their "internet lifeline".

So what is the best way to accomplish both of these goals with the Voom packages or some other solution?

  9.

My final observation was from the trivia's. We like them to meet others, have some fun and discover what you know or thought you did. For the first time ever there were a group of about 6 B2B2B2B2B2B2B cruisers who kept playing and winning and collecting the prizes. Staff were powerless to do or say anything. Many others grew quite angry at their juvenile behavior day after day. We pitied them. If your source of joy and/or entertainment comes for taking the same opportunity of experience from others yours is a state from which money or status will not deliver you.

I bet that group was selling all the prizes on E Bay right after that cruise!

  10. I am wondering why there is such a delay between when a cruise becomes available to book and when you can reserve items on the cruise planner. It seems like standard items like beverage packages, internet packages, etc. should be available at the same time a cruise is published. Does anyone know of a legitimate reason why they wait so long to release these packages for booking on Cruise Planner? It shouldn't be because of potential price changes because they change package prices constantly. I am not complaining... I really just can't think of a reason why they can't release it all at once so you can book a cruise and all the "extras" and be done with it. (I get the shore excursions delay as they are dealing with third party vendors)

  11. I used the new email link to report a cruise planner log in problem with the new web site 2 days ago. (I had to log in to the main page which then showed my booked cruise with my name, date of sailing, ship, reservation, etc. but when I clicked on "go to cruise planner" I had to log in all over again and put in ALL of that information manually!) Today I received an email apologizing again and letting me know they looked at my specific problem and fixed it. Sure enough... they did it! I am very pleased they are listening. I hope going forward they will put better testing in place including using many of us as beta testers before launching new changes. As far as this instance goes I give them bad grades for the initial screw up but high grades on admitting the problem and keeping to their word to fix it.

  12. Can anyone tell us what is the earliest time we can drop luggage off at Cape Liberty? I would like to drop off the main bulk of the luggage with the porters/handlers, then park the car in the garage, walk over and hang out at the TearDrop Memorial for a while (love hanging out by the harbor weather permitting), return to the car for our carry on bags and then walk into the terminal to board. Does all this sound reasonable? I have not seen the new layout of the terminal/garage/memorial but it looks do-able on a map but it all depends on the earliest time we can drop off the luggage and park?
