Nikolaos Christodoulakis is captain of the Century now following his promotion. He is such a nice man. We have sailed with him a number of times now and dined with him in Murano on Tony's birthday last cruise.I'm sure he'll be doing a fine job on Century.

I have never been on the Century .....yet! It is doing some of my favourite sailings Panama canal, Hawaii.
I was interested that Mr Bayley was visiting Century to see what can be done to further modernise her. I guess if it cant be done at an acceptable cost then it might go to another line.
(my first trial post - fingers crossed!)

Thank you for inviting me! I'll post any updtes when I have them. I love Celebrity! The most encouraging posts by Mr Bayley are those which indicate he doesnt want to change things!

I'm so sad this will be the end of this thread. It has been the most interesting thread for those of us have cruised quite a lot and have got to know the officers.
I'll really miss it. Thank you so much for doing it for so long.
Enjoy your cruise!

We had no problem anywhere else on the ship. On our first evening in selet dining we explained to the sommelier that we had a premium package and what we would like. Every evening we would get our champagne and then choose our wine for the entree. You can get speciality coffees (like gaelic coffees) in all of the eating venues and of course cafe bacchio.
Enjoy

Hi
Just got back from Eclipse and had the greatest time. Thank heavens for the drinks package. It worked out great and we had no difficulty anywhere on the ship except Murano! The sommellier there recommendations were all in excess of our per glass limit, and we had to insist on our own selections - he had to go to the dining room to get our champagne selection! Just stand your ground in there.
We had champagne every evening with our appetizer followed by wine with entree and sometimes a sweet wine or digestif to finish!
We took vitamin water off the ship for excursions, and afternoon tea with those lovely cakes in Bacchio is a treat!
Enjoy without even thinking of the budget!

Hi Judeb 23
We are also from NW England and have cruised with Celebrity many time, but not on the Century. We loved Hawaii and am sure you'll enjoy it.
Tea coffee etc are available free through room service, in the restaurant with meals, at the oceanview buffet. We go for the package beecause it is easy, we dont have to think about our budget and we can try lots of different things on board - especially martinis! Have a great cruise. Angie

I just love the molecular bar! We have worked through most of the drinks on the menu. We even had the one with all the smoke delivered to Murano !
Our favourite is the gin based drink with the sprig of thyme - so simple - so fab!:D

It was a nice surprise to discover I could pick up some water at the station just getting off the ship as part of the package. They had large bottles and soft drinks too.

Yes, we thought it was a good deal for us. We made good use of the Cafe Baccio. In the speciality restaurants we were provided with a matching wine for each course.
In the dining room I had sparkling water with meals - sometimes 2 bottles.
The big plus was it was so easy, no worrying about costs and the tab at the end of the cruise is just great!

EQUINOX 6235
Deck - 6
Cabin # - 6235
Class - CI
Starboard or Port Side -
Bed near?(balcony or bath) balcony
Quiet Cabin- Mostly - see additional comments
Balcony View - Great view
Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal
Was wind a problem? No
If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? No
Any specific problems with this cabin? There is a smoking area directly below the verandah on deck 5 outside. I could smell the smoke on the verandah.
Any other comments? This was a naming cruise so might be a little unusual, however till the early hours smokers were using the area on deck 5 below the verandah, and there was some noise from the talking and laughing from a group who gathered there.Might have been better is the bed was next to the bathroom in this stateroon. It was quiet apart from this, and very convenient for the elevators - no noise at all from them.

I wonder if anyone in this group is on the Solstice sailing from Singapore to Syndney in November 2012 and sydney round NZ on 10th December?
