Did you have any trouble getting a taxi at the airport?

We ended up walking to and renting a car and it went perfectly and was very easy.  The worst part is that we had to wait about 15 mins for the employee to arrive.

I received my medallions a week ago and now I am receiving an email stating the medallions were shipped yesterday.  It is a totally different tracking number. This would be our second set of medallions.  Has this every happened to anyone else?  Will they all be for our booked cabin?  We leave on the Enchanted Princess on May 4th. Thank you for your guidance.

I checked the app today and I have 2 medallion orders as well so I guess I will be seeing you in that "special" green lane lol?

Even though we have our favorite ships, we book our cruises by the itinerary.

Cannot agree more and we have cruised all types of ships from mega to smaller than Emerald including the oldest RCCL ship currently on the seas and enjoyed EVERY one of them!!

So am I.   Was supposed to get a call back by last night.   Never happened.  Guess I have to get on the phone again today.

So sorry to hear that but thank you for keeping those of us that are interested updated.  I am cheering for your success!!

For the sake of the scientific method, I hope to thoroughly peer review your findings soon

In the name of science, I will also painstakingly examine and deconstruct the cakes, and unlike mrmom92, AND the ice cream monstrosities and will do my best to report back with my findings 😬

I had no idea it was a 4 person cabin.  If the person who booked the cabin for me back in January told me it was, and that I might get bumped, I wouldn't have booked it

Just to be clear.  My posts are in no way blaming you for doing what you did, even if you did know that it was designated as 2-4 passenger.

I am merely responding to those that stated that Princess owes you comp or an upgrade.  That, I completely disagree with.

Absolutely if I owned a business I would want to maximize revenue. However; in business it is very common that in a situation like this you pay less up front if the possibility exists that you may get bumped. I seriously doubt when she booked her cabin she paid less because of this risk.

The category has a cost whether the room accommodates 2 or 3/4.  Princess accommodated (in theory since I don't know for sure) 3 or 4 passengers by switching 2 passengers to a room that accommodates 2 so now the cruiseline has 5/6 paying passengers instead of 2.

That’s unfortunate and there should be some compensation or perk for having to move.

Assuming that there is a cabin in the same or better category this is just not reasonable, you have 2 max people in a cabin capable of holding 3/4 passengers, if you owned this business would you want to lose the revenue because of this?

From a business and even practical standpoint, Princess should and does have the right to move the 2, to a like or better cabin, in order to fulfill the 3 or 4 passengers also looking for the same cabin type.

You sound like you are doing what you should. You should have specific cabins in mind when they get back to you specifically a better OZ cabin.

Great advice, should definitely be prepared and have a gameplan in mind before the call back

  10. Wow, thanks to all that have contributed their experiences.

This sounds like an outright scam but also sounds like a legit partnership with Princess since they appear to have accurate individual historical cruising info.  If this is the case, Princess needs to be made aware. And hopefully, as a reputable business, Princess will step in to stop this activity/company if those affected report these similar horror experiences.

Seems unfortunate that they are only available at dinner. You'd be giving up dinner in the dining room that night for some casual bbq or seafood.  Which, depending on your personal perspective, may not be a net gain. That type of casual stuff sounds more like a lunch option to me personally.

I guess you could have the charcuterie board at Vines before a dining room dinner, but people say it's big and comes with a dessert, so I don't think that's the intent. And those are the only 3 options on CB.

I completely agree with you on both thoughts and with the mixed reviews for the new MDR lunch menus I would really take advantage of the casual venues if they were open for lunch for nothing other than a change of pace.

On the Princess web site it says there is a new Chat feature. Any difference than the old app?

I have tried chat on a couple of occasions now and my problem was never resolved so I am not overly impressed with it but YMMV

We have plus and ours showed $0.00 on the app and the Email shipping notification. Cruise is 27 March.

You are lucky.  Mine shows $10.00 so if I choose to checkout, I may or may not be charged and if I am then I have the option to deal with GS and spend my vacay time for a $10 OBC

    Yes, $10 per person.

Even though I have plus, the app shows the $10.00 shipping fee but that is the total for 3 medallions and lanyards and not 10.00 per guest.

I have not ordered through the app (cruise is 5/30 so I have time) and will probably break-down and call customer care because I don't want to chance a long waiting time to pick it up and/or long time dealing with guest services.

    UPDATE:

7 calls later and hours spent waiting on hold - - I finally spoke to a supervisor(???) He said they would launch an investigation and get back to me in 48 hours.   Okay....sure

Oof, well at least you had a convo with a sup and hopefully he will do his due diligence and follow-up with you.

Again, please keep us posted on the outcome.

  16. I would love to hear an outcome.  If your booking allowed Princess to choose your cabin then you might not have an argument but if you picked the room then that might be (I hope for you) a different story.

My understanding of the categories (thought the lower the letter the better the category...A is best in that category and then B, C, etc,), but going from OW to OY is not an upgrade but maybe I am wrong.

I do understand why Princess bumped you since you are a twofer and the cabin allows for a fourfer but it just stinks that your view might not be useable outside of ambient lighting so I get why you are seeking a better solution.

Ha, small world. im actually in Summerfield, but if you are familiar with the area, pretty much the same.

I should have also said ive really never had a true personal TA that knew everything we liked, booked multiple cruises, etc.  I would love to find one of those, just havent had any luck with that over the years.  We were using the online ones which gave us a different person each time we booked.   If you know of a good one in our area, pls sent them my way.

    thx

Very familiar with Summerfield, we live in Kernersville.

I have found a great Princess TA, not local, she has done everything she has said that she will do and keeps in-touch via text so I am happy with her so far.

We sail on our 1st in May so that is when I will be able to confirm she has completed everything she has promised.

Just my 2 cents, we have been booking direct with the cruise lines for our last couple of cruises and it seems to be less of a hassle to get issues taken care of.  Example, we had an issue getting our medallion order to go through and when i called, they just cancelled everything out and i reentered the order no problem.  Im sure a TA could have also done that, but they would probably have to call Princess.  Paperwork seems cleaner too.  When i used a TA

I don't necessarily disagree with you as far as resolutions and paperwork, but I am able to get more OBC, and an occasional unsolicited "gift", from a TA so there is some financial incentive for me to use them.

And BTW, I work in GSO.

With all respect to @Astro Flyer, I did not get an answer to my question.  I was asking for the specific details, not a generalized opinion of the content.  Be that as it may, it is certainly the OP's prerogative to decide to not share with us what was being shared to the other passengers on Regal.

Regarding a "zealous new crew member", it appears that a supervisor also concurred with the decision of that crew member, so I presume this can not be chalked up to inexperience.  I am thinking I have the only response I will get, so we'll just leave it at that.

I have read the entire post and like you on reading through the posts, I am not going to go back and confirm BUT I am fairly certain that the OP didn't specifically divulge the contents of what was displayed.

However, I remember a safety officer disagreeing with the original "over zealous" crew member who originated the door decoration fire hazard policy.  And even though the safety officer disagreed, the OP elected to remove their decorations but a nearby neighbor refused to remove theirs.

Hope you now feel heard and answered 🙂

Pretty sure “election year” is not a huge thing for this global cruise company. As a reminder, there’s many countries where Princess ships are sailing where it’s not currently an election year. And where many people sailing on the ships aren’t American.

Wait, so you mean that the US is NOT the only country that matters in the world 😜
