  1. If you buy Cruise Cash, why can't I see it listed in My cruise manager booking- in my onboard credit? Thanks, Melissa

ps- yes I know cruise cash is non refundable..:)

I was told the credit will be put on the first day of the cruise. Keep the receipt with you :-) in the same boat, no pun intended, so I rang and non voyage confirmed that.

  2. My son has been going to the steakhouse with us since he was 7 - we have taught him what is acceptable behavior in a restaurant and what is not. And yes, we have been complimented on it :-) I think only you as a parent know what their child's limitations are - mine eats from a regular menu as well, that helps.

Please don't condemn all children because of a few that just can't behave - if I applied that logic to adults, we would be in serious trouble all round LOL

  3. The Zoo, What made it your favorite? We're still deciding whether or not to book. It's between cruising on the Legend & driving from Tampa to Key West.

Riclop, I would love to go on one of the larger, newer ships

I wanted to offer my humble two cents worth :-) actually, the legend is a very popular ship - one of john heald's favorites too - it is very unique in its design and offers lots of variety, also just came out of dry dock - everyone that I know that has sailed her once, comes back to her again - my parents loved her! I know lots of folks say sail on the bigger, newer ships - I have - they definitely have there pros and cons - but they are not necessarily always a good fit for every family.

Go on you tube and you will find a video made by the architect of the legend - it was lovely and we fell in love before even setting sail (4 weeks to go), that may help you decide :-)

  4. My understanding (from friends) is that there is a direct shuttle service to Miami you can jump to - also, check if carnival offers it in pre and post cruise offers - it may be a bit more, but it will give you piece of mind as they guarantee to wait for you guys in the event you are delayed - hope that helps a bit!

  5. Chambord and champagne should be exactly what it says, I wonder why he would mash the fruit then strain it.I am a bartender and when we muddle fruit it usually goes in the drink like an old fashioned

I was going to say just that! Though I have put in a raspberry for a little color :-) - ran out of chambord (the horror) so just made an Absolute Lush instead - yummy!!

  6. Bring a collapsible cooler, keep it on the shower floor in case it leaks.

Yes, totally agree - I have a carnival one, that works brilliantly - actually, we just keep a towel under it and the room steward always replaces the ice and towel in the mornings :-)

  7. We were in an ocean view on the paradise and they do not have a fridge -

Though the fridges never get very cold to be honest. I have a soft sided cooler I pack and when I get to the cabin, I kindly ask the room steward to keep it filled with ice - they do that no problem and the milk stays much colder - hope that helps!

  8. I am hoping that lasts thru April. We really love the old menus.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

From what I understand from John heald's blog and also from Carnival's info I have seen, the menus are not up for change on the Legend any time soon - that would make sense with it's moving to Australia later this year.

  9. Does anyone know if the Legend has this new American table dinning menu that I have been reading about? Also what is the biggest different between the typical menu and style to the new one?

    Thanks!

the legend is actually already sailing again :-) however it will not have those new menus until he been out of Pilot program - you can see the few ships that have on Carnivals website - so you're still on the old menu style on the legend for a bit

  10. Had the same one taken in jax....now I bring and old school cord splitter. They took my belkin but ignored the booze!

Same as with the others, I have taken this one now 6 times, in carry on, and we were good to go - love that little thing!

  11. So we are staying at the Hyatt place westshore on Saturday night. We prepaid for airport transfers before we knew we'd fly down a day early.

Should we take the free shuttle back to airport in the morning and hop on the cruise shuttle there? Or pay Hyatt to take their cruise shuttle? Will the marathon make either choice better in regards to delays?

    Thanks!!

Oh gosh, I would not go back to the airport as you are so close - the hotel should be well aware that the marathon is going on and able to get you there - but for your own piece of mind, ring them :-) thank goodness tampa is not so big that you can't work your way around it.

Also, for the lady whose father is dropping you off - check online for the Gasparilla races - they may have the routes as there are different races (3 or 5ks through to the full marathons) - also the newspaper, Tampa Tribune, may have that info as well

  12. Well... Not exactly. I looked it up on carnivals site and sure enough the excursion is there. The difference is that if you book through the island, $88pp gets you full use of all equipment except scuba gear (snorkeling included) and it includes a mix plate lunch and two drinks which can be alcoholic or non.

    For consideration

The mix plate is $22pp purchased separately. It is a combination of coconuty rice and beans, salad (read cole slaw), yuca chips, grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, and a lobster tail. It was amazing!

The drinks are priced almost exactly where they are on the ship, which is pretty high. You get two included in the package through the island. The kids and one hung over adult liked the fresh cut coconut water. I would make sure that you use the drink coupons for mixed drinks that are more expensive. The bar tender will happily let you use them for the cheaper non-alcoholic drinks/beer and let you pay for the $7-$9 daiquiris.

PLEASE say hi to Lisa for us. She's the nicest monkey ever and she only wants to snuggle.

Thanks so much for the info - My son will make sure to say to the Monkey for you :) as I am more of a rum runner drinker, i will definitely take your advice with the drinks coupons! How high is that platform from the water?

  13. Thanks for the info. pansieFL; We're sailing the following week March 2nd. I've tried to check the Tampa events to see if there is anything that Sunday, as an insider do you know of anything. Thanks.

Checked all the info I could find and there should not be anything out of the ordinary going in that weekend - enjoy!
