In the past we've always asked for a small dinner roll or better yet, a baguette for our cheese.
After all, it's just a vehicle to hold the cheese..hahaha! I don't really like their crackers (bisquits?).
-
Sounds promising! Thank you all !
-
We’ll be sailing on the QM2 at the end of July and are hoping that the cheese cart is still rolling in the Princess Grill.
Can anyone comment on this?
Thanks in advance!

I've had only limited experience in a sheltered balcony. I was assigned one when I tested positive for covid a couple of years back. My only caution is that you can't sit down and see the water.
Maybe it's because I'm short, but I had to stand on tip toes to see over the side. For a TA, it's probably not a big deal, but for more scenic cruise, beware if you're short!

Half portions are me! Have done exactly that in Sette Mare and in some of the other restaurants.
No one if forcing anyone to eat anything they don't want. As KJ mentions, just ask for the servers to hold the antipasto treats pre meal and pass on the extras from the buffet. John and I recently shared the veal chop there.....delish!

The only time we've encountered a somewhat lengthy wait is when the "parties" break...Repeaters entertainment in the theater, or some such special event. Usually when they end, the mob beats it to the dining room. Not a big deal as we'll have a "treat" in one of the bars until the crush is over. This will only happen occasionally, but something to keep in mind

Is that your verdict after the Christmas cruise?
We don't plan to sail in grills, but all the reviews here and on YT that I've read or watched seemed to think the freshening up it got in November was an improvement.
The Chart Room is our favourite lounge for drinks, tea and coffee.
If there was "freshening" in the grill's bar, I must've missed it....
What's in there isn't bad, per se, just old and boring. We've cruised the QM2 a lot and enjoy the ship, I just wished they could've gotten away from the black&white photo prints that've been there forever.....
-
IMHO, the Grill's Lounge (cocktail bar) is the most boring bar on the ship. To be honest, our hospital waiting area is more interesting. I was hoping for an upgrade after the QM2's last refit.
Guess not.....sigh....
If you only have a short time, I'd stick my head in to see it, and then head to the Commodore, the Chart room, even the pub for more animation..

If we just bring the cases and tags to the dock, do they have a stapler there they can use to get them fixed? If not, what do they do?
Haha! I have no clue!
Put a small roll of tape in your purse/pocket/carry on.

We are on the QM2 this summer doing a btb from NY. Does Cunard offer a pier shuttle into Southampton?
Do we need a taxi?Uber?
-
We’re on the QM2 also pretty much through the Olympics. I’m hoping it’ll be on in the Golden Lion. I can’t imagine that it wouldn’t be.
-
Wow!
Have not done Seabourn but the last time on SS we got “real” tags.
Must now.be a new thing…
Another shoe drops…

I can't advise about air travel and luggage tags, but those tags are a gripe with me.
Most definitely a first world problem, but it annoys me.
Spent a gazillion dollars on a grill cabin and we have to print our own, paper tags?
Bring a stapler? tape? ugh. And we shouldn't be forced to track down and buy the little holders!
Even the most mundane of cruise lines, give you actual plastic tags, usually with your name and cabin number!
Yeah, I know, cost cutting, but it annoys me and now I'm done with my rant.....(giggle!)

If Tasha had told us what Pacific View has so clearly outlined, half of this thread wouldn't have been necessary. All I wanted to know was what went so wrong. Now I understand, thanks to PV.
I'm very sorry that things went fluey at the beginning of the cruise, but "stuff" happens. I would've been upset too, but once onboard, it's either make yourself totally miserable, or start a fresh and enjoy. It's your cruise, why make a mess of it?

In the best of all possible worlds, I'd like to think that Regent might hang on to the Navigator as it's "expedition" ship. Since the powers that be don't seem to be moving towards construction of such a ship, might the Navigator be able to step up to the challenge? Maybe with a few tweeks, she could fit the bill? As far as we're personally concerned, the Navigator has always gotten the best and most interesting itineraries.

Tasha,
Please tell us what happened that pushed you to comment in such a negative way.
We'd like to know exactly what the source of your dissatisfaction was, so anyone who reads CC, will know and can plan accordingly.
When you post something so negatively, you need to back up your claim with some facts...

OH NO! OMG!!! We're so very sorry to hear you've had this ordeal and are sending good vibes for a quick recovery.
Should we make a memorial plaque for the back of your pool bar stool? Guess that might be
a little premature....(giggle!!!).
Hurry up and get well,!!!

I guess we’d be considered old coots but we’re not dead yet!
More updated music would be fun especially at the pool areas!
Maybe even some live music would be appreciated!

Coffee Question
in Cunard Line

While we're on the subject of coffee....
We have the "drink package".....we've never used Sir Samuels for coffee or anything, for that matter (QM2). Can we get coffee or anything else in there for no up charge?
