SO and I choose to use separate charge accounts on our cruises. I use my accounts for me as I play in the Casino.

 

When I try to do the on-board accounts, it requires on to read the * stuff. No matter what i seem to do, the box that one must select to indicate I read the stuff will not highlight nor can I select the box that say I read it.

 

I have had this issue before and I believe I selected that only one card would be used for both of us and then later changed them to have two different accounts.

 

Does anyone have the fix to do this the first time one checks in online.

Ok, we survived the 22nd Dec Christmas sailing ex Syd to Sth Pacific.

 

Very surprised at the amount of space all around the ship even with a full complement of large family groups and heaps of children.

 

Sad that they no longer offer wine packages .... have to buy a premium drinks package that gives you 20 - 40% off wine purchases ... negates some of the supposed benefits of Crown & Anchor membership. At $780 not really sure it's a good option.

 

As usual all service staff and room attendants were excellent.

 

My view only and there was nothing really wrong with any of the food BUT it seems the quality is slowly declining, but again service staff were excellent.

 

Their new method of accessing cruise photos gets a massive fail from me ... think it's based on facial recognition ..... obviously didn't recognise our faces, was a real pain to try to find photos and if/when found their "watermark" made it difficult to access whether they were worth getting as it often hid a smile or from. Great for the environment, sadly not so great for me.

 

Ice skating show excellent and Flowrider staff also worthy of a mention providing guidance and encouragement to kids and older 1st timers.

 

Overall a great if not quite excellent experience overall.

I've been waiting for a recent review as we will be on the Explorer sailing 30th March !

And it's our first time on Royal Carribean !

The drinks package sure doesn't seem like value to me , l've been tossing up whether to purchase one or not at all.

Any tips on the ship that we might need to know?

I requested the topper through special needs, I also bought an air mattress that was recommended on this site as extra insurance. There is no way I will suffer through another 7 night cruise sleeping on the hard bed.

I think I need to request one as we both have dodgy backs !!

Found a special needs form to email , do I just request it the section named other ???

Though they don't show it until checkout, You will pay the 18% gratuity either on the package or by the drink if you go a la carte. Except every blue moon they roll it into the package price.

Just checked on my cruise planner & the gratuity is already included in the price ! Not sure if this is only for the Australian site or not !

Still can't make up my mind to purchase it or not !!!

If not on sale now, I would be especially vigilant in checking on Boxing day. There might be a sale then. Maybe New-Years as well.

Well no Boxing Day sale here for drinks packages !!!

In actual fact they rose in cost to $69 Aud about a week ago !!! :D

Yes we met some lovely people on our Med cruise in 2011 @ have stayed in contact via Facebook , originally met them on CC when we arranged private tours !

They were in the US & we're in Australia , now they've retired to Mexico we hope to catch up one day as we'd love to travel with them again.

Also met great people on our Alaska trip last year who we hope to see one day .

I have pre purchased this first night dinner for 8 people @ Aud $19.95 per head ,under the impression that whatever the restaurant is chosen for us ,that is all we will pay !

Is this incorrect ? If so what will we be charged ?

Yes, I'd book the 6 of you now, and add the others later. If the others don't clear the wait list before the cruise, then visit the MTD desk as soon as you board and try to add them then.

Hi all

There are 8 of us that I'm trying to book anytime dining @ a specific time for our cruise in March.

One couple is still on a Traditional dining as RC didn't change it to anytime dining when the travel agent requested it, they are now on a wait list apparently!!

My question is do I book the six of us at the moment & checkout ?

If so can I add the others on to our table later when their dining choice is changed ?

Really didn't think it should be this hard 😬

The ship is great but a little understaffed here and there. The staff/crew are really good always cheerful. We haven't had a show every night sometimes it is just a movie in the Theatre. The live entertainment is not the best (flat notes, more like karaoke sometimes) Royal Caribbean singers and dancers not much better.

 

The ports are nice. Take your mask snorkel and sun block.

 

Regarding show times, they tend to be 7pm and 9pm

Yes, the dining room is aft.

 

The only thing I don't like about 6562 and 6564 is that they are on deck 6, which has all metal outside balcony walls, whereas the balconies on other decks have half metal helf glass outside balcony walls.

Hi could someone let me no if cabins 6562 & 6564 have any major problems?

I would prefer deck 8 but it would appear deck 6 is the only one with 2 cabins available on the cruise we are looking at.

I've read that deck 6 isn't the best but think it's the aft end that's over a dining room , would that be correct.

I'm still here & waiting for your every instalment ,enjoying every moment & reliving our 1st European cruise if 2011.

We had 4 days in Barcelona before we boarded the Ruby Princess,our first day we also went to Montjuic with a guide that we had to ourselves it was great,we walked back down through the lovely gardens and found our way to the fountains.

We had organised to meet people from cruise critic for drinks & tapas at you guessed it Ciudad Condal !!! We loved it , however we sat inside & the waiter we had was not very helpful & as none of us spoke spainish we had a very strained relationship with him .

Loved meeting the new friends , who joined us on a tour of Monserret the following day .

Ah memories !!!!

I am not a man to sweep egregious errors under the carpet-there's no room as that's where I usually sweep the dust.

 

Today I read the first page of this review for the first time and saw to my chagrin that I had listed the itinerary wrong-not life threatening, stay calm!-I listed the sea day after Livorno instead of vice-versa.

 

Also I said we mustered for the Florence tour in the Explorers Lounge. This was a blatant mistruth! It was in the Princess Theater!

 

Hopefully I can win back your trust and together we can forge a new beginning and build a new world where people with well over the legal limit of Guinness in their veins (which, in my defense I didn't know existed) can once again walk in the sun, with their held held high and lead us to a new and profound appreciation of long cruise reviews where we will feel compelled to shower the author with personal checks (mailing address to follow).

 

ANOTHER APOLOGY

 

I am about to unleash a RIDICULOUS number of photographs of our excursion to Cinque Terre. Duck and cover!!

 

No Guinness was involved so Dublin is in the clear on this one. Many of the shots are blurry bus ones where it looks like we might have lost a wheel- NO MATTER!!

It's either that or nothing. I may only travel that route once and I saw remarkable towns out of the window that I couldn't describe as quickly as I can show. Scroll down if you need to.

 

When we get off the bus I can guarantee you some crisp photos of beautiful places. We'll travel by bus, by fast boat, by train. We'll dine well on a fresh catch from the sea. On the way home we'll see some of Genoa.

 

I am excited to show you what we saw.

Private tour sounds good but we never even thought about it-we might have been able to use Rome in Limo but for way more $$ considering transfer from Livorno.

 

The crowds-on a Wednesday with just one ship in Livorno- took me by surprise.

Norris I think photos were banned because of some sort of copyright issue to do with the Japanese of all people , didn't understand it then but the guards would yell at people trying to take photos !

Our private tour was with Rome in Limo from the Ruby Princess in Livorno .We had contacted people through Cruise Critic & formed a party of 8 ,it was fantastic , cheaper ,easier than 40 people in a large bus & we made some good friends . We were also able to go to a lovely property for lunch ,a winery where they also made their own olive oil , bread, & prosciutto.

Need to go back !!!:)

When we visited we took a private tour , small bus with less walking ,great guide very flexible with our itinerary, let us spend more time in places we were interested in .

Our time with David ,wasn't as crowded however we weren't allowed to take photos !!!!

Yes , now you swipe your cabin card & select the tokens you want , much easier than having to get a bunch of coins .

The laundry we used was on tha Baja deck ,I guess all the others were the same.

Does anyone know if the laundry is tokens or coin on the grand?

On the Grand they use tokens in the laundry that automatically get charged to your account.

We were on her in August for an Alaska cruise , enjoyed our time on her , but I did see a few places that had containers catching drips , slight musty smell every now & then . On our last day ,our suitcases were placed outside the cabin for collection & we had to move them as they were getting dripped on ! Hadn't happened there until then so no drama .

I prefer the Ruby Princess as it seemed slightly grander !!
