Last night we ate in The Grill by Thomas Keller. I asked for a very small steak but was told they’re all very big - dont they have a knife? Later, on an adjacent table a child had just such a thing…. I must say it looked excellent. So I ordered the Dover Sole in compensation. I wasn’t disappointed but the fish was massive and I could only eat half. What a waste…. consider accommodating smaller portion requests in TK please. We are not all big eaters. Today we are in Portovenere, Italy - a small Cinque a terre port. Its very picturesque but very popular too - especially at weekends. It was so busy on the water the Captain wisely cancelled most watersports, but offered Zodiac rides instead. We expect to be covid tested today, but so far nothing has happened and tomorrow we take on new guests. The CD said we would go from full to 70 down (The Restaurant will be pleased😊). Maybe they have quietly dropped this requirement. I am not aware of anyone in isolation on this week’s cruise.

Fancy a watermelon cocktail with your caviar? I watched the barmen mix this - one whole bottle of Bacardi, one whole bottle of Malibu and one whole bottle of Midori and watermelon juice! What’s not To like 😊. Got to go now, their washing the outside of the ship and I’m on the balcony!

No complaints about last night’s Lobster and Chateaubriand dinner or the berries at breakfast!

I am also on board right now (Tues 5 July). I think your experience on a ship that was half full is very different to ours now that the ship is full. We are Diamond members so have vast experience of how 6 star service SHOULD BE. We too were in The Restaurant last night and it was kept waiting 40 minutes before they even took our order. I could go on …. I went out of my way to find the Maitre D and complained. Poor man must be suicidal right now 😊😊 The Club is not fully staffed and we resorted to asking one of the officers for a drink! On the plus side, the food is still very good and so are the suite attendants. Like you, I hope this is not the new normal because Regent and Silverseas appeal right now.

I too am enjoying your posts. I always enjoy the dance party on board and after a few stiff ones even I get up and dance! My twin sister from Melbourne and I (from the UK) are joining you on Sunday. If you spot us please say hi. We are no longer young in age but want to make the most of our time together as its been 2 and half years since we saw each other. If you have the time, keep the posts coming - we are all keen to hear Seabourn news.
