  1. Oh wow, it never even occurred to me that Soton to Le Havre was a thing! That would almost certainly rule out using the service, I think.
  2. Reporting back on my experience. Couldn't have been better! Signed up at purser's desk as early in the crossing as they would accept (I think Day 3) for "Luggage Storage Southampton", received detailed instructions via letter to stateroom, put out luggage the night before arrival with special provided labels, and was advised in the letter that there was no need to look for my luggage in the terminal. I was able to (indeed was encouraged to) do early self-disembarkation with my remaining bag, and got to the station early. Next saw the luggage when I arrived in my cabin for the trip back to NY two weeks later. Am hoping to do this every time from now on! Wrinkle for next time, however, is that I will be landing Southampton and then reboarding three weeks later at Le Havre to go back to NY. I wonder if my not being on board when the luggage is loaded at Southampton will be a dealbreaker for them.
  3. Success! Incredibly nice and helpful Cunard operator explained that there is no plain old Cunard Fare showing because it would currently be the same amount as the fare with the promotion package. I have never booked so close to launch date, so this is all, um, uncharted territory for me. Looking forward to over a year of checking for price drops. Good luck to all booking today!
  4. I am on hold! Why is that CunardFare is not showing on the website for my selected transatlantic...just a choice of either guarantee or the enhanced package (More, or whatever it is currently called)? I had assumed that Cunard Fare would become available when booking opened. Moreover, logged in at one minute past opening, and all the cabins I was most interested in are gone!!!
  5. Because it is seemingly not contemplated that I would be reuniting with my luggage in the baggage hall.
  6. So grateful, Mercruiser, that you posted this. I had eventually found roughly the same info deep in the FAQs on the Cunard website, but I feel much better to have read it from the Daily Programme! This makes me think that it will not be a problem to combine this program with self-disembarkation, which was my question, mid-thread.
  7. My trip is not until mid-July, so I have not been able to advance book the train, but I should develop a plan B in case the works are not finished in time. I hope that the train data once booking opens will reflect the planned closure, but now I am forewarned. Thank you for the heads up! Still wondering about combining luggage storage with self-disembarkation...anyone done this recently?
  8. For those who have done this recently in Southampton, do you think I would be able to do self-embarkation with my hand baggage, having put out the luggage for my return crossing the night before with the special colored labels? Heading for The North, and trying to figure out plausible train times. It sure would be great if I didn't have to do anything about the landed luggage on the morning, but could head straight for Southampton Central.
