  1. I love this. I'm in. I have to go 865 miles to catch my ship. I've got 137 days. That averages 6.3 miles/day. Right now I'm completely sedentary, as in hibernating through the cold months. But every May, first weekend of the month, I walk 39.3 miles in a breast cancer charity walk. March 1, weather or no weather, I start training, and then in May and June I ride my bike a lot. So between walking and biking I should be able to do 865 miles and get to the Liberty on time. As soon as I start moving again, I'll post my progress here.

  2. Not exactly an answer to your question, but I saw this cute idea from another thread - for anyone cruising without their young kids - it will ease your guilt because you'll be doing something for your child while enjoying your cruise - ask your child to lend you one of his or her favorite stuffed toys and pose it every night with your towell animal and take a picture

  3. Like many Cruise Critic devotees, once we book a cruise I can't think of anything other than the fact that there is a cruise in our future. So here's what I have to do before a cruise: I play a game with myself - I challenge myself not to mention the cruise to anyone else in my family for a certain amount of time, like a day. I'm never successful, but I wake up every day trying.

  4. Yes, I have been. I kayaked over with VI Ecotours. The excursion also includes hiking and snorkeling. Very interesting maritime history that's seldom mentioned in reference to the Caribbean.

Thank you! Sounds like an endorsement to me!

  5. our first cruise was a shortish one, maybe 3 days, and followed right on top of a week at the beach. when i go to the beach i don't do jewelry, makeup or dresses and somehow i thought a cruise would be like a stay at the beach - so you could say i forgot makeup jewelry and dresses - or you could say i was a dooofus for not knowing what a cruise would be like.

  6. Next cruise, July -

    afternoon tea

    sauna

    comedy club brunch

    Future

    cruise all by myself

    trans-atlantic

    panama canal

I probably shouldn't have read all the responses because now my bucket list is full of really expensive things whereas it used to be pretty conservative; and like one other respondent said, I don't think my pockets are as deep as my bucket
